They don’t deserve life in prison. True they are sick but what the hell do you think prison does? I did case work for inmates and families as release happened. I had more than one person tell me prison tight people one of two things, how to be alone and or how to be a better criminal. I don’t know what the answer is but even a life sentence is only 30 years for most and violent offenders have to meet 85% of their sentences and given that I know people who got locked up for robbery who got more than the average sexual offender, so chances are “life” is a lot less than you’d think. Gotta love our warped version of a justice system.

I was 16 that summer and doing my yearly visit with my grandparents in Missouri when we saw the news report about this case. To this day, all these years later, I still remember my grandmother putting her hand to her mouth and gasping and then her coffee cup hitting the tiled floor of the kitchen. Her reaction was so emotional and so unexpected that I have never forgotten it. She said "those poor baby girls" and she was crying. My mother was her only child and I think she was reacting the way she would have reacted if it had been her daughter, and not someone else's, who had been murdered so brutally.

Totally agree with you. Hart's 1966 case was a strange one. The two women were 18 and 19. One was 4 months pregnant with her first child and recently married. The other was recently divorced and 6 months pregnant with her second child (neither were showing according to the 19 year old who testified during the pre-trial hearing). They were out at a BYOB singles club drinking alcohol. The evidence against Hart was weak and considering it was 1966 in the bible belt, a jury was likely to not sympathize with the victims (sadly). So, I'm certain all of that played into the weak sentencing Hart received in his plea deal as well as his parole 28 months later.

@@Marlaina You clearly know very little about the Midwest in the 70s. I assure you that two pregnant women (one married and 4 months pregnant the other recently divorced and pregnant with her 2nd child at age 19) who were both out drinking alcohol at a singles bar would bode well in front of an Oklahoman jury. It certainly played a huge part in Hart only receiving a slap on the wrist for his crime (considering he was out on parole after only serving 28 months). He was also only convicted of SAing one of the two women as well.

The majority of videos on RU-vid are amateur content, made on a shoestring budget, by true crime hobbyists, with little to no training or education about producing a documentary, writing a script, etc. An actual television production will almost invariably be of higher quality than amateur RU-vid content.

If people who have been wrongfully convicted can sue and get money there needs to be some way for the public to sue the courts and the jails for this kind of malfeasance. Anyone court that will release a man who kidnapped and raped two pregnant woman needs to be held responsible. How does a jail have a man escape not once but twice and not transfer him to a higher security prison? I honestly feel like soo many horrific crimes are committed by people who should have never been giving another chance and the police and courts keep getting allowed to say "oops" and move on.

This in my opinion is 100% incompetence of law enforcement and a complete perversion of the justice system, they kept the trial in the offenders home location causing bias, the offender fled custody twice prior and there was no consideration for his prior offenses when being classified as an in-custody inmate, and lastly the crime scene was trampled on. If the OSBI and the state of OK has any decency, they would exume Harts remains and test further DNA, if his families wont allow, time to go the genealogy route with GED Match. As a 38 year old Father of 2 girls, this case pisses me off. Its absurd how this was handled and it needs to be vindicated as such.

False deities. There is no 'god', no judgement, no justice. Lori must have had 20 crucifixes on the wall, how did they prevent the tragedy that befell her daughter? Totems. Superstition. Pieces of wood and plastic. I could be wrong, there may well be some kind of afterlife, but unfortunately I highly doubt it. Probability is on my side. Religion is just a distraction, a comforter, a set of rules that only a few seem to be able to actually live by.

I am a native Tulsan. I was 16 years old when these heinous crimes were committed and will remember them as long as I'm alive. I've grown up haunted with this crime and Gene Leroy Hart. I have two precious children of my own, having lost my youngest, and I have two precious grandchildren. To this very day my heart fills with grief and goes out to the Farmer, Milner and Guse families. Lori, Denise and Michele will NEVER, ever be forgotten with all of their Oklahoma families that have come to know and love them. Their memories will truly live on for generations to come. To Sheri Farmer, you did not fail Lori. You're an amazing mother and your continued presence, advocacy and strong commitment to Lori in our community is felt across this country. I grew up with this case. We lived just an hour from Locust Grove....on HWY 66 . Every year the news would report on this case. I was the same age as the oldest victim being 10 years old. Our church changed lakes to take the youth to because of the Girl Scout Murders. Leroy Hart was Native American something I'm glad was not brought up in this short documentary. Folks said that the police were "racist" looking for an escape goat. Mr. Hart was seen as the "victim" ....not those three innocent girls....despite his history. It's almost unfathomable how some said he "only" raped those two pregnant women....but didn't kill them. Infact his funeral was widely attended. I hope those that felt sorry for this murdering child rapist... feel guilt & shame for supporting him. Being a mother of two girls (now grown women) my heart goes out to Mrs. Farmer. There is no closure when a child is murdered and to suggest there is ... is cruel.

Parent of 3, and I can say that the ONLY times my 2 eldest went a day and night w/o me, was when I was giving birth to their sibling. This was purely out of my own fear. 1) Because I was told I'd never have kids...so when I was blessed....I never wanted to miss a thing, and 2) Due to PTSD, from my childhood and early adulthood. This is one thing I don't think I could get over! Ever! God bless and work with these families!

I’ve never heard of this case and this is just so awful man. The counselor who heard that sound has since worked with a team who had her listen to various sounds to try and determine what she heard. She locked in on a doe grunting at a fawn. And given the time of the year that wouldn't be out of place in the middle of a wooded area in Oklahoma. The women Hart plead guilty to SA in 1966 never mentioned Hart making a sound (one of the women was even asked during the pre-trial in 1966 about noises and sounds she could hear since she was allegedly blindfolded and not once did she ever mentioned Hart making an animalistic sound while under oath.)

I live in Oklahoma and I will never, ever, forget this case. If anyone really wants to dig deep into this case they should read Someone Cry For The Children. I feel such a profound pity and sadness when I think about the victims and their families. The mother of Doris Milner has a look and demeanor about her that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. Gene Leroy Hart wasn’t even human. And to think that people like him have always walked among us. And they are out there right now, somewhere. May God continue to bless the souls of the girls and their families. 🙏🏾✝️🙏🏾✝️💐

This documentary was well done. There is another older one with Johnny Cash speaking and it gives more details on the strange things that took place after the murders. Gene was a Native American and a medicine man gave the time when gene would die and he was right. More strange, unexplained things happened . The Native American aspect of this story was interesting. He was guilty! It’s horrible what he did to those babies! But he ultimately got what he deserved.
