I love Willie Watson's voice, but this recording takes it to another level. Old Crow is awesome, but Mr. Watson in particular is exceptionally gifted. I also particularly like his voice in The Weight with Gillian Welch. If you haven't seen it, you should.
Just , less and less on commercial radio ...... Sad ... They're ignoring a Large segment of their listening audience ..... Exposure drives sales .... They { radio -stations and their owners } , have forgotten this ...
When the summer is come and gone As the leaves fall on the lawn I think about pleasures pass me bye And I am thinking of my old home And the love I left behind No I couldn?t I go back there if I try On my next go round I?m gonna keep it to The dreams we new Before I broke them down Gonna take your hand Wanna be the man Who pulls you from the ground I won?t let you down On my next go round We were standing on the edges Of a thousand burning bridges Sifting through the ashes every day What we thought would never end Now is nothing more than a memory The way things were before I lost my way On my next go round I?m gonna keep it to The dreams we new Before I broke them down Gonna take your hand Wanna be the man Who pulls you from the ground I won?t let you down On my next go round Now the winds are blowing steady My bags are awful heavy I wish that I could stop and turn around But there are no second chances In a world of circumstances Oh in this life you don?t get no next round On my next go round Gonna start again Gonna let you in Gonna lay our burdens down Gonna be the one to never turn and run I?ll always be around I won?t let you down On the next go round I won?t let you down On the next go round
they make a great harmony, the two singers together especially... but everyone mastering their art to a simple perfection makes this song a timeless piece and perhaps even completely misplaced in our generation and would have easily been a billboard buster in another. thanks for the song it's beautiful
Holy fuck, that moment when nostalgia hits you like a ton of bricks! That's one of the marks of a great song is that it can take you back to a certain place in time
What would awesome is get all the members who sang with old crow medicine show together for a reunion tribute show because it would be a show that you would not want to miss
I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this group before! Love the harmony! Willie Watson & Ketch Secor are such handsome guys with tons of talent. When they do my next go round I swear I could cry!
I'm quietly proud of the fact that OCMS have achieved this level of musicianship. What a defining live performance. The vocals are stellar. For all their history of rawness and energy, to be able to pull off an original song to this quality on live TV is a real achievement. All credit to them.
At first I wasn't so sure. His voice sounded like it shouldn't come out of him. I continued to listen and wow. Excellent! The song and them. Nice surprise for me.
Love Willie Watson. Is he still with OCMS? I saw them recently on The Marty Stuart Show and I don't think he was with them. Great song - never tired of hearing it.
