“The Old Farts” is a 70's Rock Tribute band from Belgium, that pays tribute to the heavier hardrock music from the late 60's to early 70's.
The band was formed in the fall of 2022 by the two key members and brothers Jan and Luc Van Dessel (respectively drummer and guitarist), 2 icons from the flemish rock scene who achieved massive success and recognition in the early 1970s with their blues-rock band “Tails Blues”. In 1979 the band shifted its musical direction to progrock and they changed their name to "Tails Blue".
In the years following the brothers appeared in various other bands until tragedy struck and Jan was forced to stop his career as a drummer due to a back injury. However, thanks to a specially designed drum chair, he recently saw the opportunity to pick up again his passion as a drummer and to relaunch his musical career.

- Wim Horemans: Lead vocals, acoustic guitar & blues harp
In the old days Jan was best known for his legendary drum solos with Tails Blue, for which he also received an entry in the Guinness Book of Records. Jan was also knows as the drummer in various bands like“Boogie Clowns”, “The Rectifiers”, “The Mix”, “Outfit”, “Jimmy Lawton”, “Stewart Barnes Band” and “Strange Fruit”.
In the past 10 years Luc was mainly known as the guitarist with the female fronted rock band “Scarved”. Scarved released 3 full albums and achieved international successes. Before Scarved Luc appeared as guitarist in multiple bands like “Undercover”, “Boogie Clowns”, “Rock Circus”, “The Rectifiers”, “Onderbronders” and The Clownheads”.
Wim Wouters is best known as the bassist for Tails Blue, Undercover, Boogie Clowns, Rock Circus and The Clownheads. He was also the original founder and bass player for Scarved, with whom he recorded the first 2 albums and recorded several clips. Later he was the long time bass player for the legendary classic rock coverband Blackjack.
Wim Horemans was the lead singer of Undercover and The Clownheads, but he was best known as lead singer/frontman of the cover band “Tush”. Currently he is still active in the acoustic cover band “Bed & Breakfast” and he also regularly performs as a solo artist with acoustic guitar.
