I am from Pakistan and i m very much inspired from this man. Almost from two years i m listing his songs. if some one meet them in india pay them my tribute to them. thanks.

Beautiful one This man has got a passion for what he does. Maybe what he does might or might not pay him well, but at least he appears to be damn happy. On close-up, it feels as if he has been through what he is singing "इतना ना मुझसे तू प्यार बढा...के मे एक बादल आवारा.. कैसे किसी का सहारा बनून....के मै खुद बेघर बेचारा.." Maybe he is saying this to his wife...'Don't love me so much, I am like a drifting cloud. How can I be your shelter, I have sky as mine and it's everywhere still I am homeless" Meet Keshavlal Mulchand, the 78-year-old musician who once shared the stage with the legendary V Shantaram, Kishore Kumar Kalyanji Anandji. Keshavji alongwith his wife Sonibai stays in Kothrud area of Pune since last 44 years. Their struggle to survive will move many to tears. Keshavji can be found performing on streets of Kothrud and Karve Nagar. Be it Sun, rain or cold. Nothing deters him from making love to his harmonium and producing sweet and soulful notes. I hope he earns enough to keep his hunger for food at bay. Hunger is a bad thing, it makes 'majboor' to earn our daily bread. Keshavji started playing harmonium alongside his father since age of 10. He says, he mastered it through observation. That's a God gifted talent Sir. On being asked about performing on streets, Keshavji said “I don’t sing on the streets because I want to. I sing because I have no other option. Very few people call me for performance or recording. Since playing the harmonium is all I know, I hit the streets to entertain people and earn money. It is just like going to a show minus the ambience of a hall” Keshavji hails from a poor family in Gujarat, his early childhood was spent in destitution and poverty as parents did not have the money to send him to school. He travelled with his father everywhere the latter went and learnt to play. Keshavlal fell in love with his wife Sonibai when he was 17 and got married. After a few years, they moved to Mumbai for better prospects. “I was playing outside a studio in Andheri when V Shantaram Sahab walked up to me and asked if I would help him record a song for a film that he was working on. I hoped that this would be my chance to become big,” said Keshavlal. Later, he played with other famous Bollywood musicians and singers as well. There was a time when music placed Keshavlal to a position where he shared the spotlight with geniuses from the Bollywood industry. Today all he has left with is his music, hope of a better future and a loving wife who accompanies him on his street and stage performances and studio recordings. And, yes I would really love to mention the notes coming from his harmonium sound way-way better than the original recorded song. My humble request for my friends to share this video! Thanks!

I am really impressed by this elderly street performer who this age is still active and has this passion for singing. This is a lot of hard work for this couple to earn such a meager amount to sustain them. The quality of singing and the notes of the harmonium activist attest to his skill. I wish them a long life.

Right now I have tears in my eyes..ufff poor guy... struggling with too heavy harmonium even young cant.. Alas am unable... but i wanna do someting for both lovely couple...

Also, I feel like so many street musicians--and their folk music--have so much more in common than we often think. Listening to this man's songs, I couldn't help but be reminded of how much it sounds similar to Irish, French, or American folk songs played on accordion. Great post!
