The real money in FDR's family (not counting his half-brother James marrying Helen Astor) was his mother's Delano inheritance: his father was well-to-do; his mother was rich. Teddy Roosevelt's great-granddaughter Susan Roosevelt was First Lady of Massachusetts when married to Boston old money scion (and Governor) William Weld.
I enjoy watching "Old Money" videos, and the legacy for America, as someone in the UK I take an interest in American culture and politics and The USA of the 21st century, I wonder how Trumps legacy will be see in history? In my opinion it won't be for the good of America or democracy, it will be for the damage of your great country.
History is written by the winners. If Trump comes out the loser then yes it's likely he will be viewed the way you mentioned, deserved or not. Besides some of the stupid shit he's said, he's unquestionably a better leader than Joe Biden, and far less corrupt, at least during his brief stint in public service as president.Biden has had nearly 50yrs in politics and has done far more damage than good, there's really no comparison, of course you'd never know that with the mainstream media running cover for him all while trying to destroy Trump. In this country when the media and the majority of politicians demonize someone like they have Trump, well that's a tell take sign that he's likely working for the people, at least the best he can, and not for the bankers and the military industrial complex
Trump is going to have a wild but most likely unfavorable history. He wasnt exactly loved back in the 70s-90s. Mostly just a real estate guy. His divorce from his first wife and how messy that was, was the most I remember from him. Except from the Casinos in AC. He used to be pretty Democratic back then. His utter flip to Republican and fandom of MAGA definitely will cause his downfall and harsh judgement in our history books. That said, thanks for being interested in some of our history. We don't have royalty here so these rich families are our equivalent of that. Even though im not a fan of the super billionaire class (since rheir money is usually made by exploitation of others and unethical treatmentof employee), it is still interesting. I love UK history and try to look in the REAL old money families there. I love estate country houses and just old stuff like that.
