This is a dream house. The feeling of solidity, spaciousness , homeliness, history, comfort, light, and the gardens! Also, the kitchen has not been ruined... I can hardly believe my eyes.
It’s like a house out of a Rosamunde Pilcher book. Thank you for the tour, I hope this home found a deserving owner who will continue to keep it beautiful.
Such a beautiful older house. Although I am not a huge fan of wallpaper, it looks exactly right in this home. The grounds are spectacular, but I'm sure you'd need to hire a gardener. This would be too much for a working couple to maintain.
This home is stunning. I have to agree with others… it’s a dream place to live. Although not as large as this one , my home is nestled off the BlueRidge Parkway tucked away on a mountain in Virginia (USA). No neighbors, zero light pollution and the silence is deafening. We’re blessed with our dream home ,mountain stream included, among nature.
I love this house. I dream about an old vicarage just like this. But I am on a farm in Queensland Australia. My husband will never move let alone overseas!
As a gardener, the solarium, mud room, etc., and outdoor spaces are amazing. I'd need to have Bunny Guiness over for a consult. Kitchen has a nice period look with modern conveniences, but it's more house than I'd need. Too much floral wallpaper and curtains for my taste, but overall it's great. A long way from friends & family here in California.
Beautiful house, but think about the cost of all the maintenance needed for its upkeep! You would need to cover staff & materials, insurance, cleaning, garden, etc. apart from the purchase price, you better have a heck of a good income just to live there! How the wealthy live I guess! Great video work btw!
Looks very strange to an American (I am one) but I think it's pretty handy, actually. You can wash up and do a bit of grooming in your own room without taking up the bathroom.
It may have been at one time a room to lent. The toilet and bath/shower were shared but a faucet in the room was for convenience. Many designers in the US put a sink in boys/men/spaces even offices. We women seem to hog the mirror and space too long getting ready. A fresh wash, or shave is handy in their space. : )
