Happy 4th! What salinity were you running and what is your target now? My tank has been hovering around 1.026, but will hit 1.027 due to my 2 part dosing if I don’t keep an eye on it and adjust regularly. I’ve dropped it some now to about 1.0255 to give me a little cushion for swings. My 2 part also has trace so I think my higher salinity may have caused some elevated numbers as well. Something to think about with the more modern dosing products out there I suppose.
Sorry for the way late response. Been a crazy week. So I’m now running 1.0255-1.026. I feel the same as you, it provides a bit of cushion. The tank is now back to full form, everything thrilled, so no negative impact came of any of my minor changes, at least not yet. Cutting UV was, and remains, my biggest stress point. Watching the fish like a hawk. Just expecting to wake up and everything be dead one day. Lol. But so far, there seems to be less algae growing, and fish are fat and happy as always. I think you’re onto something with the modern dosing products. Salinity seems to drift up. I now mix my salt at 1.025, and it seems to never go below 1.0255, despite daily auto-water exchanges.
Hey those batteries that you have, can i charge then and connect my filter to it at the same time so that if the lights go out automatically the filter will stay running ?
