The Olsen Twins at CHANEL? Could they be the new designers? Why The Row is the hottest brand of 2024 

I do think The Row will be considered high end and luxury for a long time. The brand has proven itself to be great quality and have established a loyal following. I am impressed that Chanel has invested in The Row. This will help increase its status. I also agree that making Mary Kate and Ashley the brand designers of Chanel! You looked lovely ❤

I personally don't see the Olsen twins at Chanel because I think loudness is integral to the Chanel brand and it would be difficult to reconcile the quietness that the Olsens are known for with the marketing of chanel. Even though I agree that Le Chiquito is terrible, I think looking at Jaquemus runway presentations and venues, there is kind of a vibe that might work at Chanel. Excited to find out who is picked, whenever that may be 😊

I personally do not believe that the Olsens are creatively capable of taking on the task of Chanel.

Hmmm… I actually think Jacquemus would be a good fit. His “French summer” ethos would be interesting, and I think his kitsch takes would actually vibe well with Karl’s archive. This is mainly from the clothing perspective though, in my mind’s eye. Chanel is rather loud, and could be an interesting challenge for the Olsen twins. It would be interesting to see how their design ethos would mesh with the Chanel archive (if at all).

They definitely need to show long term durability.

But The Row is just so basic for the price. It’s practically Cos but much more expensive. And Cos isn’t that cheap either. Unless all their garments are tailors made, anyone would be crazy to pay those prices, especially for a simple white shirt.

Hey there, Jessie. I don’t know if the Olsen Twins would meld with Leena Nair because she is apparently the reason Virginie Viard left Chanel allegedly (as Dacob would say). If she is as controlling as has been suggested, I don’t believe Mary Kate and Ashley would let her try to run roughshod over them. It would be a very interesting situation. I don’t actually see it this way, to me this looks like buying your competition, and absorbing multiple tiers of a product to capture multiple audiences. For example banana republic/gap/athleta/piperlime/old navy. Also, to be totally honest I couldn’t care less about this brand… I hate the oversized sloppy zero-fucks for approximately $1000000/outfit look lol. And as for the bags I’ll take a Birkin any day over what is just another decent quality suede/leather bag. Meh. BUT, I love your video!

Interesting ideas! I just personally don't enjoy The Row, don't like baggy or oversized cuffs and necklines. I like to appear healthy and to me that means fitted clothes or structural to give curves. Contrarian lol. The Row is a juggernaut, even more so with this cash infusion. They'll probably launch a global takeover

Nah, Chanel has more glamour, more flair, that bit of ‘je nais se qois’. I really like The Row aesthetic but you can get that same look much cheaper - so I do 😂. Maybe the brothers are aiming to gobble up any perceived competition by buying into it bit-by-bit until they get control? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi Jess! Mary Kate & Ashley wouldn’t be a factor for me buying Chanel. At all. Not into their brand it’s way too plain for me. I’m a girl from New York. I love big cities (NY, Tokyo, Miami, Philly) and vibrant colors and patterns. I’m just not drawn to their aesthetic.
