Cover more of these contest. And if you can, you think could do a candid day with Greyson? Just skate with him while documenting it. I mean, his entire family are professional surfers. His dad, Herbie, is a longboarder known for his “side slip boogie”. He some how rides his longboard sideways. His oldest brother, Christian is the one of the pioneers doing huge frontside air on wave, & then his other older brother Nathan is still charging on huge gigantic surf while doing some huge frontside airs on decent size waves in Hawaii. I know more about them than I know about Greyson. Other than he charges hard on a skateboard. It would be cool you two talking shit & skating. Kind of like what you did with the other pros at the street contest side.

Yep, whoever ran that event put up one of the greatest contests ive ever seen. Of course the skaters have to be on their A game, but kudos to the organizers to recognize the level of their participants and understanding that it was a special moment.

I was hanging out at the bowl railing during a warm up when Bryce Wettstein popped up and said to me "This is so fun!" And I got to say hello to Grayson Fletcher as he walked by me. I had a great time as a fan and I saw many kids who were totally stoked to be there.

I love how the format of this contest turned out. Just skating at an extremely high level, everyone hyping everyone up. No "time limit" or competition. I really believe this is the exact format that 99% of skaters would prefer over the SLS-stuff.

I feel like park/bowl skating never became stale. Street skating has kinda started to become stale though, like you said, not many new things are getting done, especially in street contest's. It's just crazy satisfying to watch someone flow around a bowl, seeing that control and risk taking is awesome. Only street events that really hype me up is thrasher ones.

I feel like the snobbery aspect of skateboarding that started in the 00's is ending, and the vibe and energy of 90's skating is returning. A lot more skaters going huge now, a lot more vibing between the style of skateboarding. Rockstar made a good decision running the contest like they did.

Need more formal contest/DIME contest hybrid for the most contest by skaters vibe.

maybe I'm just a coward, but the dude who went over on the 5-0 grind into manual and just rode back in to the transition is the scariest thing I've ever seen.

I enjoy this type of event far more than the events we normally see. It’s looser and much more fun and there are more tricks and styles being shown vs how strict everything is at a typical competition.

Rockstar’s loose format is much closer to classic skater run skate contests, with the difference that Rockstar built a quite expensive bowl and street course.
