I've owned the Tab s7 Plus 5G version for over a month and am loving it. We have no fast internet options in our rural location, so the 5G is awesome for streaming video and online gaming such as Fortnite or XBox Game Pass. The huge screen on the s7 Plus is gorgeous, and when popped into a tripod stand by the couch makes for the perfect evening entertainment device. I've never been a fan of getting boxed into the Apple ecosystem and am thrilled with this beast of an Android tablet!
I have been a bit the same in my thoughts about apples walled garden and stayed with android from my galaxy note 2 (2012 ) and various other android devices (mostly galaxy`s though) until the iphone 12 came out , i bought an iphone 12 pro max and ipad air 4 just to give it a try . Some things do annoy me about apples stuff (just like android stuff ) , but when you weigh up the pro`s and cons , in my opinion for what its worth , the different platforms really sort of even out when you weigh them up , plenty of good points for both , definitely some bad points for both too . One of the things i always liked about the variety of android gear was so much different hardware options , and i loved all the convenience features on galaxy devices . But samsung in the last few years has followed apples lead removing one convenience feature after the other , headphone jack , sd card , and then following up with no accessories in the box with the phones .... just like apple , and that was the straw that broke the camels back for me , if samsung is going to be apple , i might as well cut out the middle man and buy apple stuff .. Dont get me wrong , i stll like samsung stuff , but i voted with my wallet at the direction sammy is going , i certainly wouldnt mind the S7+ tablet though .
Didn't know there were rural places where 5g is supported and still doesn't have a good ISP, where may you be from kind stranger....your comment looks fabricated
⭐️ Buy the Samsung Tab S7+: geni.us/5Um3I (affiliate) What's up everyone?! I hope this review of the Samsung Tab S7+ was helpful. Did I cover what you wanted to know? What else did you want to see or learn about. Is this a tablet you would use? Why or why not? EDIT: 04:22 10,090mAh battery, not 1090 🤣😂 (thanks Julian)
REALLY lame question, but since you have the keyboard and bluetooth mouse, have you tested if these work in games such as Fortnite? I have an XBox elite controller for my S7+ and would prefer keyboard/mouse for easier aiming but have heard Fortnite possibly doesn't support this for mobile yet. I can't find anyone who can confirm or refute this though.
I think that's a really good question. I don't play fortnite so I have not been able to play (and for PUBG I can't use a controller). I'll let you know if I get a chance to check it out.
Can you do a long term review of all the cons you may have found after using it a while and your thoughts on it now Tech Gear Talk? Can you do a video on the best cheaper alternatives to the samsung accessories including the Samsung charger and the best power bank for it? My boyfriend is planning on buying one for us and I wanna know the best accessories for it and everything like that. I really love your channel even though I just found it hours ago.
@@PrinceMascara also performance 3-5 yrs from now is uncertain, i want to get the s7 plus but i dont know if it will last me from hs through college software wise. However I know apple will keep their ipads updated
Thanks for a great overview friend! I bought one of these for my wife, it is awesome. She hardly ever charges it, works on it for a week and charges it out of habit, not because it is dead. The display has to be seen to be appreciated for sure. I use this while flying drones almost exclusively now, makes a huge difference because it is so bright and clear, even in sunlight. 👍
So if you use Samsung internet it will go into the desktop websites, Google hasn't updated Google Chrome for that yet plus Samsung internet is one of the most feature rich browser out very easy to switch from Chrome to it even with password
Nice to see that Samsung is still moving the Android tablet market forward. I still think the OS desperately needs something like LumaFusion though to move to the next step.
I feel PowerDirector is great and have used it for some time now. I use it very often on my LG G8 phone and am thinking of getting the Tab S7+. If it works well even with 4k on my phone I imagine it will be great on the tablet. Having seen Lumafusion, I feel PowerDirector definitely holds it's own against it with great editing modules, color correction, blending, text, audio adjustments and use of layers etc. Recently I found out they also have desktop version for Mac (I have the Macbook Pro) but have always had a Windows version as well. It has saved me countless hours to be able to do some quick editing or complete projects editing on my phone before taking it back to do more in DaVinci Resolve on my MPB. So I would greatly suggest to look into PowerDirector than waiting on LumaFusion.
For the mobile browser you have to use Samsung Internet instead of Chrome, I wish Google Chrome had support for desktop sites by default instead of having to select show desktop version everytime
Note: The Tab S7+ does *not* have an adaptive refresh rate. It always runs at 120 hz if enabled, sucking battery life like no tomorrow! Love this tablet though!
Really enjoyed the vid bro. Really liked how you didn't have to bash one product to highlight the other. Appreciated the breakdown of all aspects of this tablet.
Thank you so much for the kind words. I simply try to share my perspective and approach a review with the perspective that different users have different needs and preferences. Thanks for being part of the channel! 🙏
For RU-vid, did you request the desktop site from the website's settings as well as the browser settings? Once I did that, everything started displaying correctly
On the Samsung browser it did not work, but on Chrome, it did. Meaning, in Chrome, if I went to settings and then selected DESKTOP WEBSITE it actually showed it. Hope that makes sense. You can see it in the S7 review I published on Monday. Thanks for checking in!
i bought ir for drawing and note-taking and it is awesome!! the camera on the tablet is bad, but enough for taking a picture for a sketch base 😁😁 great review
Thank you for showcasing an Android tablet. I'm not an apple ecossystem guy, been usig Windows since 3.11 and Android almost since it debuted. The apple tax is a real thing here in NZ as far as budget goes.
@@TechGearTalk s7+/128GB is ca NZD$1500, Ipad Pro 12.9/128 is ca NZD$2100, add in the cost of the apple pencil and it's night and day. That's a decent lens I could buy right there. I had an 2017 Ipad pro for a while but really I wasn't getting value out of it as I wasn't going to buy into the ecosystem. With the advent of Ryzen, particularly in laptops, and being adobe free, I cannot see myself getting any benefit.
Samsung displays are the greatest displays present out there. No one can actually beat them. It's great you're also considering the android devices. I would like you to try the S21 ultra from samsung as the spec sheet is phenomenal there too. And about the S pen it is better than the apple pencil but it'll always depend on perspective. Great vid💯
Excellent and thorough review! Not many reviewers got the S-pen orientation correct. I'm also surprised on how well the front facing camera looked. I recently found a great deal on the S7+ and I'm excited for it to arrive! There aren't many 3rd party cases or accessories which is kind of disappointing. Looking forward to watching more of your reviews on my future tablet 👍
I'll be getting mine by tomorrow and I'm beyond hyped. I'm an illustrator and graphic designer, so definitely looking forward to using this professionally going forward, especially with Clip Studio being on it. Also can't wait to use this for media consumption and Xbox Game Pass. I already know I'll be using this daily for years to come!
Great tablet but NOT GOOD for note taking. I have been using for 6 months now for class. The s-pen and the actual marking in the screen is slightly misaligned at the edges and there's no way to calibrate it with the latest OS. The misalignment is not an issue in normal use,but if you write something near the edge then it's difficult to wrote neatly.
Great Review! I'm glad you looked at these. They are the only serious alternative iPads, and they do better than Apple in some areas, as you pointed out. I Do wish they would have given the S7 some of the same specs as the S7+, like the screen. I always wished that the made one just a little smaller, i'd like that for my Drone controller. I'll look forward to your review of the S7. I hope Samsung continues down this road. I have had a few of their previous tabs, and while they are "ok", they were clearly deficient compared to Apple. But these two are game changers. I hope they expand the line a bit. Samsung has SO amazed me over the last several years. before 2K, they were a lower-end brand, now they are top tier in so many ways...Great job, Great review!
Appreciate the feedback David. I wish the s7 has the same display as well. It’s still very good but would have really stepped it up. Tomorrow’s video will touch on the iPad Pro and the s7+ 🤫
You just got another subscriber here! Great review! I just have one question - I've heard stories about screen burn on AMOLED screens..I was wondering if i should be worried about that on the s7+ as im sure, AMOLED tech should be much better now? Have you had any issues? Or any tips on screen burns. Thanks! :)
The Tab S7+ is The Best Tablet I Have Ever Used. It is The Best Device for Some Work, Gaming, and to Consume Media. The Tab S7 is Smaller but Almost Just as Great as The Tab S7+. Samsung Has Made The 3 Best Android Tablets Ever with The Tab S7+, The Tab S7, and The Tab S6. I Can't Wait for The Tab S8 Ultra.
I got the s8. It's already big enough. I wish they made a smaller version because it's kinda heavy. The plus and ultra are too big imo. That would be nice if the s9 has the pen slide into the device like the note phones. It's just in the way on the back and I never use it anyways.
I chose Galaxy Tab S7 over the S7 plus because the S7 is 18% lighter, 9% faster, battery lasts 40% longer, it's easier to carry, and the display on S7 is so good the difference is almost unnoticeable unless you watch movies alot.
I took the plunge and bought an S7+ and Keyboard Cover partly based on your videos... and love it! Best tablet screen and speakers I've ever used in my limited experience and have drafted an accessory shopping list based on your videos. Thanks for the info!
This left me even more indecisive than the last video! 😂🤦♀️🤷♀️ You're great tho! Is the S7 keyboard the same quality as the 7+? I know the Fn keys are different but how's the touchpad?
Loved the specs on this one and got the 5g s7plus and hoping to be able to put in my SIM card and use it on the go. Found it used in excellent condition online for 223$
I want to get it, but I'm concerned about 2 things: Battery Life and Updates. iPad Pro 12" seems to get both MUCH better Standby and Screen-on runtimes compared to the Galaxy Tab S7+, according to Notebookcheck, the most credible review site online. Also, Android apps and system seems to have worse battery optimization and ram management than iPadOS, with issues like power draining and apps closing in background. Full-feature updates are only 2 years on Galaxy Tab vs 6 on the iPads which wouldn't be an issue, except many Android apps, only work on certain versions of Android, so future longevity might be limited and backwards compatibility won't be good when you upgrade to a new Android Tablet 6 years later.
WORLD'S BEST TABLET... NOT GOING TO GIVE OUR HARD EARNED MONEY TO APPLE ANYMORE... AWESOME DESIGN, AWESOME DISPLAY, AWESOME SOECIFICATIONS, AWESOME PERFORMANCE AND DEX OF COURSE.. WHAT YOU NEED MORE?
Great video and because I'm Android user I'm very happy I can see on Your channel Android device and of course waiting for more including mobile devices 😊👍 just only one small issue You didn't mention Samsung DEX is designed more to use with external monitor to use tablet or mobile phone like a PC 😁and can You pls compare Ipad and Samsung using Lightroom and Photoshop and edit some pictures ? I just wonder is it really much better on Ipad like many people said 🤷
Let's face it if a good 512 sd card cost 70 bucks, and getting the tablet with 512gb from 128 gb cost 100 bucks, just get the tablet with 512gb, it will also increase the ram to 8gb, it just makes more sense to me, if you don't have the extra 30 bucks get the 256gb and a 256gb SD card, the cost will be about the same and you'll still get the extra ram, and if you want, just get a s10e on ebay for 200 to 250 bucks, any carrier any condition just make sure it works and the screen is not cracked , and use it as a trade in when you get the tablet, it will knock off more than 400 bucks from the price, which means you'll get a tablet with 512 gb for less than 500 bucks.
I don’t understand the differences with the Samsung S7+. The three storage capacity sizes, do these have the same processor . Keep it fairly simple please I’m not a tech guy.
I'm 6 months late at watching this video, but if the rumors are true about the Samsung Galaxy Tab s8 Ultra then I will be so happy, because that's the tablet I want.
I would do surface pro 7 which is faster then the surface pro x , if not that the next best is the tab s7 only if you like to play emulation or you are a heavy download person , but the iPad Pro is better . I have had all 4 you mentioned and but I do use my tab s7 the most because it has firestick apps and game emulation
@@NSpiritNTruth I never really thought of game emulation, but that sounds pretty nice! Besides games which one seemed like a nice balance of good productivity work and fun when you needed it, like streaming content? I’m hesitant on the iPad Pro. My wife has the iPad Air and loves it.
@@Aeonikst8 that would overall be The tab s7 .. it does more things ... but the iPad does less things but with more Fluidity and convenience . The iPad has a better camera . Better pen writing . The value won’t decrease as quick as the tab s7 . The one stand out thing I can say for the tab s7 is dex mode . Which adds that laptop looking feel
I would have gone with this tablet if it wasn't for the Android tablet app support. Apps just aren't optimized for tablets in the Android space. Also, the fact that DeX isn't really that finished as there's a lot of app crashing or apps opening in tiny windows (As I experienced it on DeX on my Galaxy S9). The only thing I would use an Android tablet for is for media and games but not much else whereas with an iPad/Surface/ChromeOS tablet, I could confidently replace my windows PC, especially with an iPad. The problem is with Android and not with the tablet.
I know its not everyones cup of tea , but i kinda liked the dex , my pc died around the time the galaxy S8 was released , i used the dex via my S8+ entirely as my home computer for 1.5 years and grew to love it , i had the dex stand with a usb hub , a wired illuminated keyboard and wired mouse and widescreen monitor , i had the option of using the monitor speakers , the speaker on my S8+ which came out surprisingly decent being re routed through the air vents in the stand , or i could use bluetooth speakers . Early on the dex was very primitive and buggy , after a bunch of updates it became pretty decent in my use , i used chrome a lot , sometimes i would use samsungs software , if something did not work or function i could usually do a work around between the two os. I loved the fact you could use your phone all day gathering data , photo`s ,video`s ,emails ,messages , (even make phone calls through it) , and when you got home just slot it into the stand and 20 seconds later it was all on the screen ready to go . And funnily enough my little S8+ running dex crashed way less/hardly ever than windows on my proper pc , seriously , i could count the times on one hand i had a crash problem with dex and my S8+ :) , but yes i get it that some app software just does not work as it should , most of the basic stuff seems ok though .. I was very happy to keep using it as my home computer for my use(and mine no doubt differs to yours ) , but one day my brother an IT guy bought me home a new computer without asking ....... i couldnt very well tell him to stick it up his jumper :) , so i`m back on the pc .. I have an ipad too , it is pretty good overall , at times though i do notice even the ipad does lack some android features , i would love to have hardware from the best of both platforms , but it becomes an expensive proposition sadly . An iphone pro max 256 gb , and an ipad air 4 with an apple pencil and magic keyboard with bits and pieces in my country would not have had much change out of 4 grand. Enjoy your ipad mate ;) .
@@mikldude9376 I’m not saying that DeX is trash and shouldn’t be used but that it’s fine for most tasks. It’s just Android App Support for Tablets. Take the Twitter app for example, in DeX, it opens as a mobile app, or it doesn’t adapt to a mouse and keyboard, on phone it’s fine, but as a normal tablet app (or non-DeX) it opens as a stretched mobile app. Desktop version on Android is fine. Although DeX is really cool compared to iPadOS and offers better multitasking, it’s just Android app developers that are holding it back by not making a tablet optimised app. (Cough cough Instagram cough cough). Some apps open in portrait only and is really frustrating (according to what I’ve seen in DeX videos) although it can be fixed by an app from the store. DeX from phones is cool af. The thought that my phone is also my PC (if I wanted) is really awesome. It’s also really budget friendly. The hardware of the devices is really good, it’s just software that holds it back. DeX is really similar to a chromeOS device. Desktop stuff with android apps. Also you don’t need a Mac to get into the Apple Ecosystem. An iPad and iPhone is just fine.
Search EBay for open boxed items missing the redundant charger/cable (you probably have several of those at this point, TBH) from reputable sellers. Knock off a hundred or so bucks immediately. It's worth saving up money for as long as the essentials of life are taken care of. A lot of older devices atill have really nice value for resell as long as they are in good condition. I sell two year old hardware to get about 70% of the value of current open boxed phones and tablets. It's awesome. Just keep all your stuff in cases and take care of them, they're worth money. And last year's TabS6 is also amazing. The only real differences are the refresh rate, s pen, and screen size. and you can get an open boxed one for 350.
I bought an ipad Pro 2020 last year and have never got on with it. After watching some videos on the s7+ including a couple of yours, I'm convinced the Samsung is what I should have bought..... off to amazon.
The difference is the S-Pen over the Apple Pencil. The Charging for the S-Pen is the best. If Apple had made the charging dock where Samsung did it would be the Greatest thing since Bread. Only Apple people would think a chance to lose your $150 dollar pen in normal use is a good idea compared to a safe and secure charging dock. Maybe it's just me. Humm
Please scribble something in any application then turn off the display and inspect the screen carefully. Can you see the markings? But they can be wiped off. Doesn't happen on my Tab A10.1 with S pen.
Samsung needs their own Tab OS based on Android to differentiate it from mobile Android experience. The S-pen should have a clamp which can help it to put in shirt pocket like normal writing pens.
Iam wondering if the 7+ might be fast enough for a full lightroom workflow cause there's a lot of videos about the iPad for lightroom cc (obviously Adobe optimized LR for iOS) but none for the S7+
I got tab s7 plus updated up to date and I have an issue with youtube app, I can't ZOOM TO FILL the screen, Its always shows bars at the top and the bottom of the screen. Anyone can help me with that ?
Help, whats with his smaler brother, the s7? Is it bad or could i still take it? I need a Tablet and its on sale for around 600$. The s7+ costs around 900$ here in germany
It's the same man. So I been going back and foward to best buy because I had the air 4, but just couldn't get into that apple eco system so I return it for a tab s7 +, but then I saw the s7 for 550 us dollars so I exchange it. It's the same but just a smaller screen about an inch. And the blacks on the s7 look a little more faded. But that's it. Nothing else. And it also comes with the pen!
@@joethenoob thanks, appreciate the help, i think i go for the s7, the price is really good. I germany we pay around 800$ for the air 4 with the pen. I think the s7 is a better value. I was scared the Screen is much worse then the s7+ Oled one.
It's smaller, has no face recognition, no in-screen fingerprint sensor (it's on the power button), the display is not as nice (I'll do a comparison). But it's a very nice tablet as a standalone product.
Great review, like always! Thanks a lot! Just one thing; u forgot to mention, when the tablet one the table with the cover, it is not straight. If somebody want to take a note with it in vertical position, it is a little strange. U can see also in the video.
That's a good point about the cover. I was usually in horizontal position so I liked the added height, but I can totally see what you mean. Appreciate you!
Trust me its the best im actually doing alot of stuff with it then i did with my pc im studying with it gaming and even coding with ubuntu 20.04 although 64× software and apps don't work but its awesome i wish u can give us a way to load windows 10 ARM on this tablet id appreciate it alot great video btw 🌟
I had desktop mode activated (or at least “request desktop version of websites”. please let me know if there is another setting I missed (thank you). I definitely recommend that most users go with 256 (or even 512bc it’s so inexpensive by comparison to apple’s upgrades; and as you mentioned - the extra 2gb of ram). I was trying to compare 128 to 128.
