I truly appreciate all storage videos! Board games benefit so much from a good storage solution that maximizes setup and tear down! Thank you for taking the time to make this.
I just opened and played JotL last night. Trying to put everything back in the provided sacks was a royal pain. I was worried closing the lid would damage the cards and it obviously doesn’t close flat like this solution. It was also a pain during play to try to go through all the bagged items to try to find the correct monster. Your solution would be so easy to grab bit boxes sorted alphabetical or just writing what monsters are on the six boxes as you have it. Well done and that you for sharing!
I really like the idea for those small boxes. When the video started I thought "man,, thats cool. I need some of those" and then you posted the link. So, thank you. I purchased 2.
Wow! great tip! 1. I actually had the proper sized bit boxes on hand with no real plan on what to do with them. I bought them long enough ago that I had long ago absorbed 5he cost so my cost was effectively $0. Thanks! 2. You probably found out long ago that those little placards are initiative counters. Just as a return idea, instead of discarding those, put them in the matching creature boxes on top of the cards. I found they will still fit nicely, and yo can see the placards through the lids. That way you have a visual reference of what is in the box, and you do not have to expend time and resources labeling the boxes.
Thanks for this, just followed it and much better than the plastic baggies. Everything just goes back in with trying to play tetris to get the box to close.
Hey man, great vid! Adding the bit boxes is really a great idea that so helps with organization; eliminating the silly baggies. One thing I did to save even more space is to put the elite bases in with a couple of the bit boxes alongside the cards/monster tokens. Thanks, cheers!
So you organized without playing yet? Nice solution though. You will use those "labels" you bagged each time - they track the order of the initiative for players and monsters. Might just want to throw those into their respective boxes with monsters and heroes.
I thought the whole point of collecting games is to buy it, unbox it, organize it, try to get friends together to play it, fail, imagine what it would have been like to have played it, move on to the next game.
I did everything like you mentioned, but the slightly above pennystock sleeves i used made the 3 card slots in the box not completely fit. What i ended up having to do was pinch the hollow dividers together so there was just barely enough room to get them in there, but yeah just a headsup in case anyone uses anything besides the lowest tier pennystock sleeves
By taking the four figurines out of their boxes and adding the standees to that new space I find everything fits in the box anyway and the lid closes all the way. I will admit though that it is easier to find the monster you need in the plastic boxes than by having lots of baggies.
Good to know. I generally only sleeve the small attack modifier cards (which I keep in the character boxes and the monster action cards (which I keep in the small boxes) but that’s a good note for people who want to sleeve everything.
I don’t personally, but from what I remember it’s a tight fit with all those large miniatures and monuments. If you wanted to lose the insert you could use note card holders, one for each monument and then some for the larger miniatures grouped together.
A little late to this, but I ordered 2 sets of 4 as soon as I followed the link. Apparently the last 2 they had. Sadly, you made them so popular that they raised the price to $7.80 each 4-pack. 😁
I put some premium sleeves on the character cards and they don't fit now in the paper boxes they came with because the sleeves are too thick. Does anyone know which are the thinnest sleeves in the market so I can replace them with those ones? :P
I generally only sleeve the action deck modifiers, so I think so, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. COVID has kept this game on my shelf since our gaming group doesn’t meet.
@@TheMeepleMarathon Cool! I'm pretty new in this type of games, this is my first time hearing about this playmats. The look really nice, will try to get some. Thank you
@@athanasiospetsas9367 In this particular video, I'm using the Fantasy Flight Death Star play mat that was designed for Star Wars X-Wing. I also feature the Ryan Laukaut play mat from Game Toppers in a lot of my videos.
