Who would’ve thought that the thing he feared most was a Jedi with common sense.
@icebreaker9995

It’s because the Jedi were taught from a very young age and probably don’t see anything wrong with the code since they think it is good and they also see everyone following it so maybe that’s why

@@ironberserk2175 well from my point of view the radical right is pushing extremists views, disregarding common sense
@ironberserk2175
@ironberserk2175 4 года назад
@@ziminvaderofirk6157 I appreciate the debate, but that point is incorrect. In modern sociology which is liberal in design, it specifically states the need to disregard common sense, as they claim it's not so common, or what's common to one isnt to another. Which is asinine to deconstruct common sense in that matter. As common sense is the general overall sense of fact and truth. So it's an attempt by those who have none or the less popular "truth" to be factual when they're not. Regardless of your political stance, you have to look at this objectively. Especially with the expanded universe or "legends" now. The galaxy was thrown into chaos post empire. The new republic was seriously flawed, just as the former. Which was also the main reason the Jedi order fell. What it boils down to ultimately, is Lucas himself is very left winged and views authoritarianism ex. The Empire as bad and his storytelling is childish in nature.

Qui Gon was more interested in the force than the Order. That's why he's my fave. If you're a good person because you can't be a bad person, then it's not really a choice or even that admirable. But if you understand the dark within yourself and the world, but choose the light anyway- that's real truth and strength. That's a really difficult thing to put into any code. Especially when some cultures don't understand anything but might.
@vonTitten
@vonTitten Год назад
Very wisely said. Haven't read such accurate and perceptive comment in a long time. Very much agree with you that the might is what most people understand and are after. I would only add that the other sought after, glorified and completely overrated feature is intelligence, which has nothing in common with actual wisdom. Real pity that Qui Gon had been killed so soon in the series. Would love to see him more😢

I agree completely. My only issue with TPM, and the prequels in general, is the fact that the script needs punching up and George Lucas' frustration with the acting process is really apparent. By that I mean it's obvious a few more takes to allow the actors time to find the drama in scenes would have helped make a more dynamic film, instead of the collection of lifeless scenes where everybody seems bored between the action set pieces. The other issue is that so much of the themes and cool subtext is just that. Nobody is talking about what things mean, its left to an audience to deduce. Unfortunately so many prequel haters just focus on the things they don't like and never recognize the greater meaning of things. Overall, I actually prefer stories set in the prequel era. It's so much more interesting and grandiose, and I say this as someone who saw the original trilogy during its initial release as a child. I love QGJ and have often speculated the exact same theory about Anakin as his apprentice for years.

I just realized while watching this video how Qui-Gon Jinn managed to become as independent and self-thinking as he was. He was trained by Count Dooku. He was also self-thinking. Okay we're getting a kenobi series, im just excitedas everyone else, however, Id say a Qui-Gon series would make more sense. I get there is a lot of hype for Kenobi and he is pretty much THE star wars poster boy, next to anakin, or mary sue, but if you just watch the movies and dont really look into it, like a lot of people do, his character can fly over your head. The movies didn't really give Qui-Gon the same light that Obi-Wan got. And thats a damn shame because he is such a deep and well written character. And for fans like us, itd be nice to get some live action coverage of his life. He deserves more than just a voice over in aotc or an appearance in tcw. It doesnt help that TPM got a bad rep, but ROTS showed that characters from multiple broken movies can still be enjoyed with good screenwriting. Given the success of the mandalorian, who might i mention is an entirely new character, I don't have a doubt in my mind that a series on Qui-gon would be anything short of spectacular. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Qui-Gon lacked the arrogance that pervaded on the council. He wasn’t slowed down by the prevarication of Yoda, Mace and others. Guided by the force at all times, this left him free to follow his feeling and didn’t let the Jedi tie him down. I do think that Obi-Wan learned a lot from him, and this allowed Obi-Wan to outwit the Emperor later on, and see that Luke remained hidden and was trained as a Jedi.

Yet another reason why Qui-Gon is, and remains, my favorite Jedi. I also really enjoyed Neeson's portrayal of him. His mannerisms are exactly what I'd always had in my mind's eye as those of the quintessential Jedi Knight. Calm, confident, trusting in The Force.

@tyronehuston1260

" I will do what I must Obi - Wan " Qui Gon Jinn was the embodiment of the the principle that Sometimes doing the right thing isn't doing the right thing. Powerful as the other Masters were, they were blinded and clouded by their own self righteousness. Outside of Star Wars, it's a rule of life, You can't look too far forward or back all that is certain, is the very moment. Though a faithful servant of the light side Jinn was also conscientious. People like he and Anakin were not afraid to look at the weaknesses within themselves whereas other Jedi tried to tune them out via meditation. Not as powerful with the force as Master Yoda, or as skilled with a Saber as Master Windu, but a powerful warrior nonetheless. The song fit the video

I paused at 2:57s because what he said of Qui-Gon Jinn is true and that saying is true as well. You should never worry or bother about the future to any point of obsession but focus on the present. Do not let the activities of the future affect the inclinations of the present. Let the troubles of the future worry about itself as there are enough worries today to be concerned about. It's in the Bible but obviously said in a different context..................................................... Basically, "Do not let the troubles of tomorrow worry you today.".........................

Jin would have exposed Palpatine before his plans came to fruition, before or very early on in the Clone Wars, that's why Palpatine feared him. He wouldn't have to defeat him, at least not in combat anyway, even if they couldn't capture the Sith lord his ability to manipulate the galaxy and the Jedi would be almost completely diminished

He looked forward to fight Yoda as he was greatest user of light side. Looked down on battlemaster Windu and this is reason he lost to him, because he wanted to defeat him in lightsaber combat to humiliate him... And only the stupid do not fear - You forget fear gives more power to dark side user. Palpatine feared not QGJ but only his insight, because he was capable to see trough his plan. And only reason his plan failed is QGJ demanded Obi to train Anakin. If Anakin trained under someone else the outcome would be victory of the Sith lords. And btw only reason Obi was able to become Jedi is QGJ. Obi lacked "necessary minimal talent" and no master wanted to teach him...

I think the simplest explanation is that QGJ followed the meaning of the code and not the code itself. He understood the code in its truth and wasn’t a faithless practitioner. The other Jedi were in touch with the code but practiced it and devoted themselves to it without truly understanding it. Jedi counsel would say these are the laws and QGJ would say and this is what they mean.

Loved Qui-Gon's Cameo in the Plagueis novel. Even then he saw though the lies of the Sith. Although he was only in Plagueis's presence for a short period of time, that's all it took for him to call him out on his Bullshit right in front of the other Jedi including his then Master Dooku who had not yet been corrupted. A great read for that scene alone!
