I hope to be there in the future with my in progress first i ever built Café Racer. At 66 years old and the fact that i have had bikes starting with a Jawa at age around 15 followed by Honda Sl350, KZ 1000, A new Harley, ect. This show would be the bomb .
I had my hotel, tickets, everything planned for this. A week before I was suppose to roll up to portland, a cop pulled my license and I wasn't able to make it. I definitely missed out.
Wow, wish i was there. Heard a lotta good stuff about Portland. Great production, movie making, did'nt see anything newer than an Evo. Old school bikes. No Twin Cams, no billet CNC ally. Lotta Brit. Lotta Spanish off road. Looks similar to Euro Wheels/Waves/Glemseck style shows. Excellent. Regards from NE Thailand.
Some beautiful bikes in this show. It’s been my dream since I before I can remember being alive to build a bike. Bravo to these guys and gals who made their dreams a reality and did it so good that they’re in a very chopular show.
ive been to only 1 scoot show in Portland. was in bathrm when we got there. there was a pop pop pop. oh one has started a scoot inside. no they were shots ringing out. the bathrm filled up with guys gals kidz. this was 1977!

Payed for parking, attempted to buy tickets (group of us) and was told we cannot get in. No refund on parking. Won't be back, and I was looking forward to the larger venue.
Research the MAX lines, park at the MAX parking lots and glide in on the Max Train,,, PLUS you can drink like a fish and no worries! take an Uber if drinking, but seriously, they had whiskey shots, beer and clams on the half shell with vodka and it was on HELL of a party!) But I agree the ticketing and fees were sucky but so cool to see Thor & Crew get the success they deserve!
@@dougtowsley6791 Parking with the MAX lines won't help trailers, loadin, or load out. As a builder (coming from out of state), even prepaying for parking (that was invalidated early), it was quite a mess. I get this is the first year at this location, and hopefully this gets sorted out. It also wasn't the show's location. I wish the recommended hotel also had better parking and parking info. Finding parking next to the hotel that late at night was impossible, let alone with a trailer, and had to pay for valet every night. That was expensive.
Well thats a bummer but there IS solutions. But for the average hipster, taking the max avoiding the overpriced parking is a good solution. You can even get there directly from the Airport if flying in like Lowbrow weirdos did. However as a builder? DUDE! Were you here for previous shows? Those were even more of a ClusterF**K so this was a vast improvement. So net work with people who are loco-local, Options are out there, I live in the hills outside of town, so many people drop their stuff and park with a secure friend or buddy and ride back and forth on a bike. The PDX swap meet coming up has 5000 booths and over 100,000 people over 4 days and even bigger issues. For every problem there IS a solution.
I attended for the first time this year. Live across the river in Washington. There was a lot of British stuff and some nice BMW's. Some going back to the early decades of riding. It is a fairly diverse bunch of bikes. However, i didn't see quite the number of vintage Japanese bikes i thought would be entered. Loved the little old red Hodaka though. It did inspire me to at least consider entering my 76 Moto Guzzi next year. IF i get it done by then.
