Love this... You bring a new meaning to the word "solitude"!! Can't get enough of these ventures when it's just you and your audience, I always learn something interesting 😉
I’m not a fan of the pitch clock. Major League Baseball is simply catering to our short attention span society. After all, NFL games are 3 hours long, yet no one complains.
My favorite part was at the beginning where you stared out over the water and then the barge pulled up and dropped off a handful of people with leaf blowers
How about eliminating the pitching/batting clock after the 7th inning? Saw this idea somewhere, and it could help with the excitement of the duel, at least somewhat. Have to say all the twitchiness while getting finally set has been frustrating to me at times. That said I adore the slow pace of baseball myself. Happy to hear your views on it all Adam!
Good point about baseball rule changes, your right, the whole point about the game is to chill and enjoy and maybe get cought up in drama when it happens, might ruin game, actually hope pitching timer won't happen past spring training makes no sense. Go Jay's.🇨🇦
Love that you are a baseball fan too! I've been a Red Sox fan since 1986. Fenway South is on my list! I'm not a fan of the clock either. I think that we are going to see a lot more wild pitches!!!
Haha Adam I had an RC boat when I was a kid it was a fire boat and had a squirt nozzle on the front, needless to say the ducks were not pleased 😂 I say get a boat! That would be epic! As far as the glasses, BEST REMOVE EM!
CRAZY EYES Fairbanks! I am not a fan of the new 15 second rule but jt will be interesting. For me Baseball is a “pastime” sport, it’s meant to be more relaxed than others. That’s one of many reasons why I love it. This new rule compares to the shot clock in basketball which is good for basketball, but not sure how it’s gonna play out in baseball. Pitchers and batters have especially entered a new realm of performance. Not a fan but I’ll try my best to be optimistic. I am a fan of Willy’s Wieners! That place is so good! Rays up!!
Here in Sevierville, Tennessee I recommend A & W. They have great hot dogs especially Chilli Dogs with onions and Root Beer in the famous glass mugs and they still give a gallon of Root Beer in a milk jug on purchase of one. They even have the glass mugs for sale too. It's my favorite hot dog place 😋💖
I would love to see you send a little RC boat on a tour of the lake! You could put a gopro on it and get a close-up of Howard the duck or some other fowl creatures! 🙂
Most of the player reactions to the new timer rules that I've heard so far have been pretty positive. That's coming from both pitchers and hitters. They feel it's keeping THEM more alert and on top of what they're doing.
🍻🎙 One of my favorite ways to relax is to put the radio on and listen to Bob Uecker call Milwaukee Brewers home games. His stories and comedy tidbits he adds between pitches and at bats is classic baseball radio. The new pitch clock will take away some of that. There are pros to the clock for sure but that is one negative.
I like the new clock rule. Speed up the game, over the last 20 years the average length of a MLB game is up almost a hour. The rule I don’t like is runner at second starting in extra innings, now a permanent rule. It’s baseball not kickball.
The real problem with the time is the commercials. Minor League Baseball before the clock averaged 21/2 hours to 2:45. I hate the ghost runner in extra innings
@@ken9642 Yes way too many commercials, unfortunately that will continue. It’s a huge source of revenue. It use to be one commercial between a half inning, more for a pitching change. Now it’s two or three between innings.
@@jeremyfowler1519 I remember a good starter would go to the 7th-9th inning. Nowadays it seems the max they go is 4 or 5 innings before the pitching changes.
@@jeremyfowler1519 Nothing more annoying than a Starter getting the first two outs of an inning, then a batter gets on, and here comes the Manager to make a pitching change. Let the Starter finish the inning. I watch the Red Sox, and Alex Cora does it quite frequently.
This moment is one of many coming for those facing the 2nd half of their life that challenges one’s inner being when faced with change. Buck Showalter said during the ESPN broadcast spring training game yesterday, “We all confuse change with a lack of respect for tradition.” Hot damn.
@@brianteneyck7074 Ending games on bunts and sac flies without earning a runner is a disgrace. It makes it into little league. Imo..Baseball should end when it ends. This ain't soccer.
I'm a purist, I don't care for any of these new rules. Not even that crazy about inter-league play. Before long baseball will be replaced with Blernsball...
It's already happening..They think pitchers are robots..They don't realize how much strategy goes into a pitch..Rob Manfred is a terrible commissioner.
Lifelong baseball and Red Sox fan. I have been a camera operator at Fenway park since 2011. I love my team, I love my job. But the real disgrace is taking 5 hours to play a baseball game
@@robertt.50That 2003 playoffs series broke me against the Yankees, 2004 almost if not for Dave Robert's slide, Big Papi and the rest of the team making that comeback.
Adam, I went to Willy’s today because of your video. I agree! The chili was awesome. Btw, I noticed inside that every table did not have a mustard bottle!?! Thanks for the baseball rules update, too.
I love chili dogs with onions, cheese and mustard added!...Coney Island sauce [when made correctly] is also great. I use the recipes from a family owned business, when I was young, for both. The time clock thing, might become annoying?
I just got back from spring training in Arizona to see the Guardians. At first I was 100% against the pitch clock; however, I’ve changed my opinion after having the chance to chat with some people who work for one of the teams. This has actually been in place in the minor leagues for the last two years so those players, managers, and coaches are used to it. I agree that it’ll definitely take some time getting used to (and I also love that baseball has never been associated with a clock), but I think this will end up being a positive change.
As a fellow baseball nerd, I'm ok with the clock. It speeds the game up properly. What I do hope happens is the rules are adjusted to make sure a game isnt going to end on a disputed call.
Who wants to leave a stadium earlier...can't get enough of the game the way it is. The clock is going to contribute to some horrible situations this year the league will have a hard time explaining. Just a horrible idea...15 seconds is way to short. I'd rather get a bad call by Angel Hernandez than get called out due to a clock rule!
I'm not a baseball guy at all but sometimes tells me that the pitch clock could be used by runners already on base. They could time their base thievery by it. More bases will be stolen now.
Okay Adam whether you realize or not nothing funnier with the lawn maintenance folks adding extra noise and sounds to your daily vlogs their timing on point with your intro!
I disagree with you on the pitch clock. I think that is a big positive. And, I can’t stand putting a runner on second base in extra innings. That rule has to go! Why not load the bases to start every inning?… ridiculous! Go Brewers!!
Do the Rays have a fantasy camp? My husband went to Red Sox Fantasy Camp for two years and he absolutely loved it! For a week campers stayed by the RS spring training facility and played every day on teams coached by former players. At night they had dinners and different presentations about everything Red Sox. He called me one day so excited that after he got a home run Louie Tiant (sp?) fist bumped him when he got back to the dugout! Adam, I think that you’d love it!
Thank you Mr. Woo for another thoughtful video. I'm surprised you stick to Pike Place at Starbucks. I always go to whatever the bold is for the day for some variety. Pike Place always gave me indigestion. 😆 Just my take after 8 years of Barista experience.
Not a big fan of the 15 second clock watched a couple of spring training games this year don’t like the way they have to rush. I hope they decide to get rid of it.
This was great review Adam on the Baseball ⚾ I love the sport, I used to play little league in the 1980s I'm 46 will be 47 in May 6, 2023. I still collect sport cards and wear the baseball jersey of my favorite team. I like Yankees, St. Louis , and the Cubs. Have a great Tuesday.
One of these days maybe you can make it to Flint Michigan. Try a Flint coney dog made from our local Koegels hot dogs and visit filming locations of Roger and Me and Semi-Pro. Flint gets a bad reputation but there is a lot of history here and we have a thriving cultural center.
The pitch clock is 100 percent going to in play all season and the post season. It’s by far the best thing they’ve changed. The game needs to speed up. The pitcher walks around the mound steps off the batter calls time and steps out. It takes way too long. It needs to speed up the clock has been needed for years.
My family likes great hot dogs. When we get back down there, we'll have to try out that place! Looks yummy. We like to go over to the Dawsonville Varsity every few months to get our fix on Chili Dogs. That location is easier to get to instead of the Atlanta location for us. We have a local restaurant we go to for Slaw Dogs. If I don't make them at home. Thanks for sharing.
Hockey is my favorite sport but I agree on baseball. It's supposed to be laid back, I'm still not the biggest fan of them moving the home run line in the 90s. I'm going to try to catch the Cardinals at Reds in May. Earliest memories are of trips to old Busch Stadium.
The Hot Dogs, look alot like the new Place they opened on 192, Called Portillo's, My friends went, said it was ok...Yes! a good Dog always has to have that "Snap!! like the ones at Yankee Stadium!! Enjoy!!🌭🌭🌭 The fries look real Good!!
I've been a fan of baseball since the mid 70's....like you, a big reason I love the game is that it has no clock like the other major sports. The people who make the decisions are trying to cater to a new society....people are always in a hurry and everything is never done fast enough. To introduce a clock to baseball is the start of the game really changing and not at all for the better
@@MK47478 Not quite. Parents are introducing the lifelong love of the game TO their kids...not the other way around. The ratings fall wasn't because the fans are tired of the game or how it's played. Interest waned because people don't like it when baseball goes woke. 1) The Indians name change...unnecessary... 2) Moving the game out of Atlanta as a 'political response'... 3) Adding political theater to pre-game ceremony... Nobody likes that. Baseball isn't the arena to debate political ideas...baseball is a game that people immerse themselves in to escape those things, if only for a little while. They got punished for going outside of what most fans want during a game. Most fans want to enjoy the game and have something to talk about that involved play action, not players bending a knee or disrespecting the flag, etc. If you stay away from hot topics, it insures you don't alienate a significant share of your audience...but they did it anyway.
The Woo, I work with a proclaimed baseball purest. When the rules were announced last season, he express his dislike of the changes....at first. However, during the spring training (he is a Cards fan, and I'm a Rangers Fan btw) he is seeing the merit of all the changes INCLUDING the shift. He does feel that yes, it gonna take getting used to.... but he does see it as a fun assignment for players and Teams to find the "loopholes". Also, he does like the bigger bases. Lessing the chances of taking a Cleat to the Hand and causing your best hitter to miss a half-season worth of games. Loving the content and LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!
I'm with you... can't stand the clock. No clock is what makes baseball so great, everything plays out organically. I'm also opposed to the shift ban. The shift was such a great example of fascinating baseball strategy. I still love baseball-- always will -- but there's been a lot of changes in recent years that I think are taking the sport in the wrong direction. It was pretty funny to see the clock implementation immediately cause issues in that braves - red sox game. Unfortunately it seems like MLB is doubling down on how that game ended.
I don’t like the new shift rule, mostly because I love to see when players do shift and the batter manages to hit in the area they’ve shifted from! I wish they’d stop making rules to speed up the game though. The timing isn’t that bad now. It’s not a speed sport and baseball fans know that.
The new pitch timer is going to give a huge advantage to base runners. Particularly in hit and run situations but in the pitcher throwing off the lead of a player getting ready to steal
I can't believe how close you are able to get to the players as they get ready. It's amazing and really sad. No other team or organization would have so little fanfare to start spring training. I'm so happy my san francisco giants never moved down there when it was possible
Adam, You should get some like minded friends together and rent out that theater in Celebration and hold a monthly Horror film festival or something like that . I think it would be a great success. You could have meet and greets with celebs and the like.
I agree about the clock with baseball. They keep changing baseball trying to make it appeal to a wider range of people, but for most people, it's not going to make baseball more attractive, but less (especially when they get into some of those goofy situations that had last year and are sure to happen more this year).
Adam, I agree whole heartedly against the pitcher’s clock. Hopefully they’ll try it and it will not work. That’s not baseball I grew up enjoying. We’ll wait and see it attendance will decrease.
I'm with you, my friend...raw onions are best. 😋🧅😋 And oh, that snap! 😋🌭😋 Good chili is hard to find. If I am ever in Kissimmee, I'm going to Willy's Weiners. Thank you for sharing. ❤️ Hugs and God bless 🤗🙏🤗
Hi Chris, thanks for sharing this information with us. I really appreciate the way you explained things for all of us that don’t understand legal and government issues. ❤❤❤
You definitely need mustard in your kraut dog.If ever in Miami try Arbetters hot dogs on Bird rd and 87th ave,try the cheese fries there. Also I believe over in Flamingo Crossings in Disney they're opening a Skyline chili from Cincinnatti. You should do a month of hot dogs around Florida.Kraut dogs are great but they need mustard.
Adam, really enjoyed your vlog! Those hot dogs looked so good! If I had to pick a game to watch it'd be ⚾! That was an awesome picture of you with one of the players! Can't wait till your next awesome vlog!
Adam, how can I afford to be like you? I want to travel and have fun and drink Starbucks. I've worked all my life and I cant afford Starbucks. Will you teach me how to afford your lifestyle? You are doing what I want to do.
I'm watching the Houston Cheaters at NYM in the background while you are giving your thoughts on the baseball pitch clock, and I can't help but notice your observation of the lack of subtlety in the game being demonstrate live in front of me. The mental duel between the pitcher and batter is one of the highlights of baseball, and putting them both on a clock is not going to help the attendance/viewership at all. Re: the shift, teams will simply work around it with moving the outfielders to different positions depending on the batter. It also won't help to enhance the game. The only cure for the waning enthusiasm in baseball is for players to learn how to play small again, rather than trying to hit home runs all the time. A perfectly placed bunt away from the shift is extremely exciting, as are texas leaguers that score two runs. Swinging for the fences and popping up is the least exciting play in all of sports, IMHO.
I can't agree with you more about the stupid pitch clock. But don't forget the limited number of times the pitcher is allowed to try to pick off the runner on first. The pitcher is only allowed to throw to first base to try to pick off the runner 2 times. If the pitcher tries to pick off the runner on first a 3rd time, and if he does not pick off the runner the 3rd time, the runner automatically is put on 2nd base. And they have made the bases 2 inches larger this year. All this to try to make the game go faster. And they are keeping the stupid automatic runner on Second base if the game goes into extra innings. So the beginning of the 10th inning, and every inning after, the last batter the previous inning is automatically put on second base. For a purist like me, I hate all these rules changes. And I hate the Designated hitter they started in the National League last year. Am I the only one that does not mind the game going longer? I have no problem with the game going 3 or more hours, as long as the play is good. The way I feel, when the game goes longer, I feel like I am getting more for my money. When the game is quick, I feel like I am being short changed, and not getting as much for my money. I may stop going to games if they are short like that. But I will always bleed Dodger Blue, even if I stop going to games. Leave the sport alone. Go Dodgers!
Pitch clock is a great thing. 15 seconds is plenty. Minor league players have been under the rule for a while and they've been fine. No clock leads to constant unnecessary drama/slowdowns and it kills any excitement for the sport outside of hardcore fans.
Another thing..Pitchers timing is a HUGE part of how they mess with the batters mind. Makinthat predictable will lead to higher Era overall..Rob Manfred is worse than Selig..
Thanks for the review of Willies. Never knew it existed. I enjoy Portillos. How do you feel Willies ranks with that? Will have to check it out next time I’m n Orlando.
