The One Piece Live Action Is Seriously Better Than The Anime! 

That Buggy was top tier. The actor killed it. They did the CGI justice for the Chop Chop fruit.

I think the Buggy circus concept really works here. Buggy is forcing people to laugh and smile, which is in contrast to Luffy who is all about wanting people to have freedom, laugh, and smile

They do a pretty good job at acknowledging the more anime style things they had to cut, such as Richie and Luffy talking about flying into the Marine base by grabbing onto a giant bird

My favorite small detail a Buggy still being goofy. Like he saw Luffy stretch for his hat and he still thought stretching him would be torture.

Buggy is so good! Honestly the most engaging part of the entire season to me is that we are following Koby because it really is the newest material. Garp is also a standout to me. I love the way they did Luffy's backstory with Shanks and the Lord of the Coast. I am sad they didn't keep Shanks' "put your life on the line " quote tho. I always thought that was the most badass line. I love that each episode's title screen is a different Jolly Roger!

It's always been funny that in the beginning of the story Buggy can be seen more of an actual threat but as time goes on its becomes more apparent that he's more of a joke than a threat. Jeff Ward shows that 'threat' side well but as time moves you start to see that 'joke' side of his character, more in later episodes

This feels similar to how they handled The lord of the rings trilogy, They keept the heart of the story. Changed and removed some part to make the story flow better, while keeping the core parts intact. And by keeping the small details, One Piece fans gets some treat while first time watches gets a good, well ballanced story. I hope they keep this up. I generally arn't a fan of live action versions of animes/mangas. But they have so far handled it great and I hope it will continue. X)

Boogie was actually meant to be the name of Buggy initially, also Zoro was meant to be on his crew. I love how they have the little Easter eggs for the super One Piece nerds. You can tell that Artur (Livrary of Ohara) was involved, great decision!!

Ruff noticed them using Nami's concept art outfit but another little easter egg is that Buggy's original concept had him named "Boogie the Clown" and what does Luffy misname him as in this episode? Boogie.

I love how they give One Piece fans something new to watch. It's great!

Very good adaptation. All the changes were made well in good taste, great pacing for 8 hour long episodes, the cast is fantastic, and the set design is out of this world! Of course nothing is ever perfect but this really was something special and I can’t wait for more. My only real complaint is that I hope in future seasons we get a higher episode count!

Lowkey should give extra props to the LA given the fact that East Blue Saga is easily one of the weakest in the series yet they somehow made Syrup Village arc watchable.

They were only given 8 episodes. I feel like if Netflix gave them 10, they wouldn't have omitted the whole Chouchou protecting the pet store, Mohji and Richie fight and the Cabaji fight but it was nice they included Mohji and Chouchou even for a little cameo.

I totally agree with you guys.. one piece changed my life.. but i couldn't get my family interested in it... Me and my sister always share what we are interested in... But she refused to watch anime . Especially if its that long.. but i bugged her to watch one episode of this when ut came out.. and she binged watch the rest with me.. it was the greatest feeling ever.. finally being able to share that happiness and epicness of one piece with my sister .. and yeah she said she wanna see anime now😂😂😂

I watched the whole 8 episodes - and there are a lot of " FEELS " to come... like, I hope it's not just me, but it's so well filmed / written that some moments hit me in the feels harder than it has any right to. I was shook.

I have no clue why, but I'm getting MAJOR Jim Carrey vibes from Buggy and I love it!

I think this live action also a really good entry for new one piece fan, I feel nostalgic watching it but I totally can see how this can reach new audience. Love love it.

Iñaki Godoy as Luffy and Jeff Ward as Buggy are the standouts for this season, IMO. They manage to capture the energy I expect. I also love the fact that Usopp isn't as snivellingly shrieking as he is in the anime. I know a lot of people enjoy his portrayal in the anime, but his high-pitched screaming put me off watching it all the way through. I managed to stick it out for the entirety of the Skypeia Arc, but whenever I thought about watching more, I always came crashing up against Usopp's snot-riddled face screaming like a little girl. Jacob Romero gets to play him a bit cooler, and I'm so very much here for that.

Buggy was on Roger's ship and went to the New World, the anime showed that he used his power at their lowest capacity. Like he had a month of practice and called it quits, this version shows that he actually put some effort into honing his skills.

I missed Ruffs Reactions to OP Stuff so much Since he is reading the Manga I am too afraid to follow him anymore because even Thumbnails would spoil me and he also warned people that this could happen on his channel So it is a great feeling to be able to see his excitement again. I feel like this is manga accurate, I've watched all 8 episodes. Only if you say it's better than the manga, no it's not. If you say it's worse, no, it's not. You can't compare them because they have their own interests. So far, this is number 2 the best. Number 1 is still Alice in Borderland Live action series. and number 3, Rurouni kenshin movie 1-5.

I feel like we’ll be having the WORLD MAP of One Piece thru NAMI once Luffy became the King of the Pirates and the rest of the crew finally get their dreams. Because, in the story, there’s no world map yet. And Nami will be the first one to map out the world once they get to the final island. And thinking about it, it’s kinda fulfilling to see the world map of one piece after their final voyage or when their adventure ends. Just sharing my thoughts hihi.

I quite liked the first ep, the only thing that stuck to me a little was, it felt like they were kinda downplaying Luffy's strength? Like I am a huge zoro fan, but that captain morgan fight was mainly luffy vs morgan and then zoro ended him with luffy trusting him fully with his back, I wish they didn't change that, I feel like that kinda reduced the impact of their bonding.

I really loved this series overall most the changes are for the better there's one or two emotional beats that don't hit as hard for me. But MY GOD is this man PERFECT as Buggy! Like Inaki is also perfect as Luffy... but HOLY SHIT Jeff Ward took this char early on to perfection! I'd love to see his run in Impel Down lol

Wait, you pointed out in the end credits a "Goat Island" on the maps. There was a filler arc in the anime with a goat island. It was in the grand line so geography wise it doesn't match up, but I do wonder if that's a deep cut reference. That would be wild if it was.

Since this will likely get a second season at this point I'm curious how they will handle creating Chopper. They will have to use CGI for Chopper and I think he will be the most expensive character to create cause he has around seven transformations when they originally meet him. At the current pace of the live action show if they expect to finish the Alabasta Arc by the end of season 2 I think they will need at least a12 episode season or more. Assuming season 2 episode 1 is Logue Town and entering the Grand Line, episode 2 would probably be meet Laboon and Vivi, episode 3 recruit Vivi and head for Drum Kingdom, episode 4 through 6 recruit Chopper and beat Wapol, and use the last 6 episodes to arrive at Alabasta and beat Crocodile.

The reason that no one has the full map is because of how the map changed due to certain events... Therefore no one has a full map to be able to work off of. No one has traveled the entire world. Plus the maps that some people make might not be perfect. That's part of the reason nami wants to make a map of the world.

I agree that it was better than the other Netflix anime adaptations. And I would definitely love to see a second season. But it can never be better than the anime! The anime is on a completely different level! Live actions will never get there no matter how hard they try! The only things I didn't like were, 1. Arlong 2. Nami joined them on the walk to the Arlong Park 3. Don Crieg had so much less spotlight

I think that every new iteration of a show even if it's done by the same group and it's the same network showing it and there are characters from the previous show in this show and it's later on or before whatever it should all be seen as a parallel universe unless explicitly made obvious that they are one and the same universe within the adaptation itself.
