I totally get it Lala! Been sober for 6 years and felt the same way about dating a fellow sober person. Luckily my husband barely drinks, as it's just never been a big thing for him, and that has been the perfect combination.

Two people in a relationship that are addicts or alcoholics is very difficult and you are sober and have a child and one on the way, it would be hard to have to worry about someone else’s recovery. This is coming from someone in recovery that’s been that position. Not easy!! So i agree
Jess I didn’t o ow you went to Belmont University. My son is a senior we live 30 minutes outside Nashville. He has been accepted to Belmont University. And hasn’t heard from Vanderbilt yet. Also accepted to David Lipscomb and UT Martin and UT Knoxiville. He Really is leaning towards David Lipscomb because the scholarship is almost way to hard to pass up. But if he gets accepted to Vanderbilt that’s where he will be definitely going. He is going to be psychologically minor neuro science major to become a brain surgeon. This kid of mine I am so proud of he has worked so hard. If he goes to Belmont he will start as a sophomore because he is taking all his freshman classes this year in high school. Vanderbilt he would have to take the final to start as a sophomore. He definitely does not want any part of a fraternity he is not about that life. Also he gets to still live at home. Because we are considered local. Are you from Tennessee or how did you end up choosing Belmont and what was your major. Oh and also Belmont he can also do his first 8 years there. They now have grad school.

You said that when you start dating you want to date a “normie” that doesn’t have issues with addiction. Are you going to date someone that doesn’t drink at all or someone that might have a drink with dinner. I’m not sure if you’ve talked about this before or not, do you think it would tempt you, gross you out, etc… tasting alcohol on someone you kiss? Love your podcast and how genuine of a person you are :)
There are no guarantees that someone will or will not drink no matter how long they’ve been sober. What happens if Wawa drinks? That’s always a possibility hopefully not, but no one can predict the course of addiction. Not even Lala trust me I’ve been sober for 35 years and I never take my sobriety for granted
I disagree, I think you’re reading the situation incorrectly. I think Sutton was disgusted by Erica’s behavior on stage. I think she might have expected some kind of interaction, but not anything like that. She obviously thought it would be one of those performances where girls tucked dollar bills in the guys g-string. If you remember, she had a handful of dollar bills before they left the hotel or maybe she expected a lap dance, IDK. Jess said Crystal should have been on stage, she was on stage at first. Sutton wasn’t upset with that, and I think she would have put up with Kyle’s actions had she stayed, but Erica’s action were beyond acceptable for Sutton and I agree. I think she was afraid of being put on the spot to do something like that. Just my two cents worth.
I’m so sick of people talking about Suttons bratty attitude on the last episode. Everyone feels bad for her for not getting pulled on stage because she’s the outcast. Everyone seems to forget that Kyle - who wore a dress and did not want to go on stage- got pulled on stage after crystal and Erica. They were probably planning on pulling all the pant wearing ladies on stage but Sutton threw a fit before her turn. And because Kyle is a babe now so they picked her in Suttons place. I’m over Sutton being so winey. Happy Erica is a new person but I wish she would of have laid into her harder then the “happen stance” elevator for opening.
I COMPLETELY disagree with you on the whole Sutton magic mike drama. Go rewatch that scene and watch her facial expressions, body language, her whole vibe. She looked scared, disgusted, embarrassed im not sure. But if I was one of those dancers and I saw her reaction I wouldn't pick her in a million years! She looked like "don't even try to touch me!!"
Let them pay for the first date; if they're serious about you they'll want to even if they make less. Frat guys are the worst 🤮. I agree with Jess and Madison from the previous episode, they don't like strong outspoken women.
I think Sutton was shocked and offended by the “spread eagle, oral sex simulation”. It shocked me that they went that far. She was totally up for the lap dances and giving the guys the dollar bills. She was eager and game for that. She would have NOT been happy if they tried that on her. So it was a mix of feelings for her (not being chosen and feeling offended by that part of the show). Since I am older with southern sensibilities I think I understand her a little. Just wanted to give you another perspective.
I agree with Jess! That is very nice of you La, to not just assume someone would pay for your dinner when you choose the place and might make more money and don’t want them to feel pressure! I love it! 💋🫶🏼
