I really appreciated the conversation around 14:00, and how most churches shouldn't use all their digital resources on livestreaming. Website upgrades and social media posts are definitely more cost effective. Thinking about it, if you have a couple thousand dollars to spend, a nice camera with a telephoto lens would almost always be a better investment than a livestream setup that would most likely be putting out low quality video and audio anyway. Like Ryan said, the vast majority of us can't compete with Elevation, and so we should ask what are better and more personal ways for us to engage our neighborhood. Our church chose the first Sunday of each month to not broadcast our livestream, and we have seen an uptick in attendance on those days, and like you mentioned we did send a private link out to those who needed it. Pairing a "no stream" Sunday with a potluck lunch or other church event has also seemed to encourage people to come to church in person. We are still figuring out the best way to navigate online ministry, but I just wanted to affirm your conversation. Thanks

Great Pod. Can you guys offer some tips on how to market/promote to grow a church's children's ministry? Our church is growing yet we are lacking when it comes to children. Any insight would be great!❤

So the percentages at 2:21 are how often they attend online church per month?

I found online church was how some homebound stayed connected. It also made families felt better about the option being there. I remember a grandmother who watched a number of televangelist because she couldn't get out. I see that as the main advantage to online worship.

I personally abstained from drinking and smoking throughout my teenage years. What did I say that bummed you out? - Brady

@@prochurchtoolsshow I mean you guys totally encouraged underage drinking. And encouraged doing low level drugs. Some would also say that kissing is also an issue. Just seemed like the opposite of what the gospel teaches. I sent it to a few people to see if they heard it that way too and they also felt that way. Im not offended just bummed to hear it

@@justinedmonds9055same. I love the statistics but the opinion of giving youth almost an endorsement to experiment was disheartening to hear. It’s the same argument we hear from people far from God that refuse to set foot in a church because they don’t want to give up the “fun” stuff. And the fact that I was listening to the podcast while driving with my 14 year old son in the car made it even more awkward. Hearing someone say he used to be a youth pastor then condone these types of actions wasn’t something I was expecting out of this podcast.

Personally, I totally fit into this safe category. Never had a desire to drink, smoke or try any other substance in High School. With that said, just about every one of my friends drank, smoked, and enjoyed the occasional psychedelic so there's that.

How would you respond to online church viewers who only want to watch their home church’s live stream and they also want it to be a great experience? I ask this because the people who only watch the online stream at my church would say the same thing.

No need or time to smoke and drink when you are hooked up to the iv of dopamine from tiktoks. Gen Z isn't doing "drugs" in the classic since but they are addicts. Plus parenting has shifted to kid lead so you would never make your kid try something.

12:06 - According to page 16 of the report only 16 percent of people who attend a service online each month say it's due to Disability or illness. I don't love the options they gave the respondents for that question....there wasn't a good option for "because this is my home church and I love it". The closest is "because it's convenient" and that was the largest reason. Sorry, I'm nerding out over this....Nov. 2022 seems like an eternity ago though!!

About 18 months ago. Yeah, that’s not uncommon for how long it takes data to be published it seems.
