For anyone wondering how's he the first chef to win Michelin star and not Vikas Khanna Michelin can give maximum three star at once, like gold silver and bronze medal. One star means bronze, 2 silver and 3 means a gold medal. He's the first Indian to win two stars, means a silver medal for his restaurant in Singapore. For other chef they have won Michelin stars for multiple years such as Mr. Sriram Aylur whose restaurant won Michelin star for 14 years straight.

This is very important to be honest and ethical towards your work. Most of the people forget that for getting more profit and then it leads to their downfall.
There are many more whose restaurants have won a Michelin star. Vikas Khanna, Atul Kochar, Garima Arora, Vineet Bhatia, the Chef at Quillon in London and some more.

These French(Michelin inspectors)give stars to the restaurants run by Indians abroad eg. "Avatara"- Dubai, "Junoon" -New York. On what basis are they given Michelin star? I mean I'm curious, are they well aware of our Indian cuisines? To give the Michelin stars they have to check the consistency of the Indian dishes. So how do they decide how to give stars to the Indian restaurants or the restaurants that serve Indian food also. Confused😕 😕 Now if they've tried Indian cuisines abroad then why restaurants in India do not get Michelin guide? 🤔 🤔
I never understood why a American Tire company award is so imp for Indian chefs. Whereas in same context in India a truck driver drives to eat food but we never give our dhaba the MRF star 😅

Their gaining popularity gave a boost to their restaurant segment, which led them to hire a team of diners who would review restaurants anonymously. Thus was born the Michelin-star grading system and guide. Since 1926, the Michelin guide has been reviewing and grading restaurants and eateries across the globe. One star denotes “a very good restaurant in its category”, two stars mean “excellent cooking, worth a detour” and three stars signify “exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey.”
@@UniversalIndian-fh6st thanks for sharing their vision which connects basic human need (food) to something they were selling like tyre. For example in 1926 a special journey to India would show how Indians were treated as slaves. Doing special journey for food is very age old human instinct when men did special journey to search food. They connected it to the product they were selling. My point is who is Michelin to tell which food is better and embrace it so blindly. Instead Indian chefs should learn from Japanese chefs who marketed themselves as special chefs for technique they use. Look at Indian MasterChef - we proudly show fusion food and not uniqueness of our food. Our reward system rewards western identification, even chefs. Now a local rajasthani cook who don't know fusions will not be master chef.
This is such a rubbish thing to say........... Just to show love to someone doesn't mean to disrespect the other................ If chef sanjyot here have achieved something then the other chef has also brought pride for India................ So, learn to respect everyone.
why are people so obsessed with Michelin star restaurants, like I have been to a few outside India and all of those were shit like I would never step foot there ever again. Is it like once you get a Michelin star you can ask for an absurd amount of money for a single dish or just european or some countries trying to say we have the best food (even though its not). I know Michelin doesn't rate restaurants in India
