Tennis bracelet ✔ Diamond studs ✔ Nice watch ✔ Statement earrings ✔ I do want to get a chain necklace but not a big, chunky one so I'm still on the hunt for that. Also, pearls are an absolute "must".
I agree , a string of pearls is a classic, feminine standard. Along with a pair of simple pearl studs a woman will always look put together. Worn for a day of shopping with slacks or skirt, or to a dinner out, they are the perfect ensemble. perfect
Wow, I'm shocked 🤭 I have everything on the list, but I agree with the other comments, a nice string of pearls is essential, and something I need to acquire 🥰
I own all of the, including the Dior earrings specifically. I am 44 and have collected jewelry over the years, most have been gifts from my husband. Good list. I would add a statement ring.
I absolutely love your videos. There is so much elegance and sophistication in all of them. Also, I appreciate that you get straight to the point. Thank you :)
I remember when the "tennis bracelet" term was coined: professional US tennis player Chrissie Evert lost her diamond bracelet on the court during a televised match when the clasp broke. The match was stopped so she could recover it and the diamond bracelet became a classic, must-have accessory for many. Chrissie was a style and beauty icon for sporty, athletic women in the 70's and 80's, and remains a classic beauty to this day.
Great video and reminder! I too have everything on this list including pearls. I inherited my jewelry obsession from my mom, her mom and grandmother. I was blessed to have inherited all their jewelry, costume and high end. Sadly I rarely wear, life’s too short not to wear good jewelry. 💓💍. I think I’ll go put in my diamond studs and finish laundry.
Me too. I have lots of jewelry including pearls . Southseas and fresh water pearls too. However, life is too short not to wear it. So even if I am at home, I am wearing them now.
I think it should also include a pearl necklace! I don't own a tennis bracelet. I usually wear a lot of bracelets and a watch and I like mixing silver and gold. I had a lovely chain necklace I never wore so I gave it to my mum. I don't remember were I got it from, though
Pearl necklace for sure! I have vintage ones from my grandmother...Mikimoto. Also beautiful pearl earrings I thrifted. I have several necklaces and bracelets, (recently bought in Dubai)in platinum and yellow gold. I also have many beautiful rings with various stones mostly gifted from my parents (lucky me!) My whole collection will be passed down to my children and grandchildren..a legacy (also a cash source in hard times because gold prices are stable) I only have one watch which I have had for about 15 years SEIKO it is a silver metal one with stunning cut glass over the pale blue face. I always wear it with the first gold bracelet I ever bought when I was 20 at a gold souk in Bahrain.
I also agree that pearls are an essential that should be added. I have 2 strands. One strand is more formal & I inherited it from my grandmother. The other strand is a faux strand that was a gift for being a bridesmaid. Both are very special and make any outfit stand out.
I love a bezel-set diamond necklace. My husband had my original wedding diamond set into a bezel necklace for our 25th anniversary. It’s sophisticated and elegant.
I have most of these but cuffs are my fav - I've worn them since a young woman and I feel they're easy, bold, and can really add some drama to an outfit but in a chic and sophisticated way. I have a beautiful silver one as gold doesn't look too good on me - but if I could wear gold I love the gold too!
Loved this .. I'm very less is more. I wear a bamboo silver bracelet, either diamond or pearl studs ... no watch or necklaces ..and a couple of rings ...no colour gems. Jewellery can make or break xx
This was such an interesting presentation! I agree that most women need just a little more than 6 pieces.... and I would include pearl earrings, pearl necklace, pearl rings, plus the ever-classic gold hoops earrings. Just think of a small but slightly chunky gold hoop with a stunning gold cuff. There are so many modern takes on pearls nowadays so that they do not come across as 'grannie'. Loved this presentation as it was thought-provoking as to what is/will always be classic. Thanks!
Hi Gemma, your rose gold tennis braclet is so beautiful! Jewelry, in my opinion, completes an outfit. It takes a look to the next level. I haven't wanted a cuff until this video.... they are gorgeous. I also love watches!! Oh, who am I kidding...I loved ALL the must have jewelry looks. Thank you Gemma & hoping you get that gold cuff and necklace soon!!
First, I love Italo! Good brand for jewelry. I love how you chose white sapphires vs diamante for your tennis bracelets; that way you can say, "they're real and mean it." Diamonds are not always necessary, I don't think. Your bracelets are just lovely on you! I do have two tennis bracelets but mine are Swarovski crystals and I truly love them; they've held up AMAZINGLY well for over 10 years!! I also, have a statement necklace that still looks great has lasted me 20+ years! It was a good investment in spite of the fact it's not "real" gold. Oh, and yes I remember when you first got you Channel earnings...yup, been watching your channel awhile now :) Lovely video Gemma! Stay safe!
You can have diamond studs placed on normal posts as well. I had a pair with the screw posts and it fell out of my ear because the back unscrewed from taking my hat off one day in the winter. My jeweler told me to have my replacement pair on regular posts with the larger secure backs as he had seen several people lose the screw ones. I feel like these that I have now never loosen.
I have several Swarovski pieces of jewelry and I love them. My Swarovskis have more "sparkle" than some of my real diamond pieces. I agree, diamonds are not always necessary.
I do like a bold, wide bracelet if you can't afford gold go silver one of my favorites is a smooth lightweight wood and a silver/copper one and a native american beaded cuff lovely!
I do have them all, but the cuff is the last one that I think of using. I prefer the tennis bracelets and those, I have 2, one in white gold and one in yellow gold. I have several watches, it's a weakness, as can be attested by my husband and kids. What I do want added are rings! Those I can't leave the house without. I usually wear 2 rings, heirloom pieces from my Mom. It helps me feel close to her, especially these days. ... Thanks for a great video.
Yes, a pearl necklace can be worn with just about anything. I’ve got all of the items, along with rings, which weren’t mentioned. My more costly jewelry came mostly as gifts but I’ve purchased one or two items. You’re such a lovely lady and I’m sure you’ll acquire all of the items you desire. Thanks for your wonderful videos and all of your hard work!💕💗
You have all my go-to jewelry in this video. One pair diamond studs set in platinum (over silver) and one pair diamond studs set in yellow gold. One bold gold necklace. One gold watch + one other style for variety. One bold gold bracelet. My statement earrings are not really statement but more of another classic: gold hoop earrings 💕
Hello Gemma🌟looooveee 😍the black suit looks amazing !!! Beautiful pieces of jewelry. Your taste is impeccable. I am always so happy and excited to watch your videos. Take care 💕😊🌷
I’m very blessed to have a husband that loves to buy me jewelry and we e been married 34 years so I actually have everything but the cuff piece. Now I have something to hint about for Christmas! I also inherited pearls from my aunt and grandmother. I think this was spot on and enjoyed watching. 🇺🇸😊💛
I have a pair of small diamond studs and a sapphire tennis bracelet set in sterling😉. I have a gold plated chain that I like quite well. I agree about the clasp (larger) wrist piece. Because it's a bigger piece of jewelry, it's worth waiting until you can find a quality piece. I have a watch that received as a gift and really like. It has a gold and silver toned band that is both casual enough for day wear but just elegant enough for the evening. I have several pairs of statement earrings that enjoy but rarely get to wear... My diamond studs are old and not the greatest quality so the first thing on my elegant jewlry wish list is a quality pair of studs. No need to be big but that sparkle in a quality diamond makes all the difference 😉🥰. Ty for the video.
I have them all.... But, I also would add a beautiful gold or silver hoop earring, pearl necklace, & a gold or silver omega necklace..... I LOVEjewelry and have quite a collection, plus I just inherited my late mother's jewelry so I have her collection as well & she LOVED jewelry too.
Thanks for the info on jewelry. I have good quality cubic zirconia ear rings. I recently took my sapphire and diamond ring to the jewelers for repair and enlarging. I am so glad I did, as it is the nicest ring I own and is my birthstone. I do have a couple of gold chain necklaces, and statement ear rings. I also made a brooch from a simple piece of antique ivory and added 2 pieces which had fallen off old rings years ago, one was a simple agate, the other an onyx with a diamond chip in it, both oval shapes. To those I added a copper deer which was from a broken necklace. It looks great and works well with my casual, classy bohemian style.
White sapphire is my favorite! I have a tennis bracelet, some small drops made from the leftover stones after sizing. I also have sapphire studs in denim blue in gold which can be casual. Sapphires especially the lighter ones are my favorite and my birthstone. Thank you for sharing! Freddie
Another great video with some great tips. I just brought some gold hoops I like a lot. I had a pair of cheap pair and of course tarnished so invested in a real pair. I have a beautiful tennis bracelet diamonds had it appraised found it in a parking lot:)
Great video. I think the following items should be added to the list a classic gold bracelet and gold ring, a bangle bracelet, and classic drop earrings.
I love all your pieces, yes I do think a good pair of pearl earrings are a must. I do not have a good gold cuff but it is on my wish list as well. My chain necklace is a piece I bought for myself years ago and it is still in vogue and still one of my favorite pieces, it is a good investment piece. I have a Cartier watch which I have worn for 20 years and it is still one of my favorite pieces. A string of pearls is also a good piece as people have said previously. I do not wear it much but I love when I do. Thanks so much for all your good information, you are a very classy girl.
Loved this video I have 4 of the six you mentioned Diamond studs 1 karat squares I wear all the time since I have two holes Tennis brackets 2 One rose gold wire cuff I have one solid sterling silver round bracelet that I wear often Casual or dressy I have a large pearl from China that looks good dressed up or down Statement earrings - I collect them from my travels No gold cuff my wrist are to small I have watches but nothing special now on my wish list
Gemma, you always make us think about what to add next to subtly but powerfully level up. One element missing, since the pearl necklace is spoken for, is a classy tortoiseshell necklace, which can elevate for smart casual occasions. Thanks for the list.
Genuine high-quality diamond studs are set on thick screw posts for security, I tried them and couldn’t get them into my ear piercings. The white sapphire might be a good alternative, if they use a standard post. I mostly wear pearl jewelry, especially my simple baroque pearl drops. I always wanted a classic double-strand pearl necklace, but they don’t seem to be in style lately. Because of changes in my circumstances in the last 20 years, I haven’t bought jewelry like I did in my corporate years, plus the cost of gold has become out of reach for all but the rich. I will check out Aldo, thanks.
I have some diamond studs with the thick screw backs. If you dip the post into some neosporin, or polysporin, they should glide through your the lobe. For me, one lobe does and for the other one, I have to turn the screw until in. It would not be possible if I didn't use the sporins-btw, they are antibacterial so another bonus.
Kimberly Perrotis You can have diamond studs placed on normal posts as well. I had a pair with the screw posts and it fell out of my ear because the back unscrewed from taking my hat off one day in the winter. My jeweler told me to have my replacement pair on regular posts with the larger secure backs as he had seen several people lose the screw ones. I feel like these that I have now never loosen.
I have the same earrings (but mine are "Dior-esque"- hah!) and all the others, except for a tennis bracelet. The rose gold is so pretty on your skin - definitely your color match in metals!!! Thx for the ITALO discount, Gemma - think I'll take a peek now!
If you are looking for a statement chain necklace, look at Amberta on Amazon- they have a wide variety of gold plated on silver. Vintage costume - look gor Caura or Cabouchon or Monet- these are discontinued but pop up on Etsy or Ebay. For new- Hobbs for costume.
I would agree about a pearl necklace and gold hoops. It's interesting about the tennis bracelet. Those were all the rage in Canada 30-40 years ago, but I don't see them anymore. Instead I have a heavy link gold Tiffany type bracelet with a gold toggle. I also wear 2 thin plain gold bangles all the time. I had these made from old gold jewellery (melted down), with a little extra gold added.
Lovely Love the copy Cartier gold bracelet and I have a tennis one nice against the watch. Chunky gold single necklaces were refined. Finish the outfit but don't o empower. Great video as ever !!!
I think also that you can add a handcrafted necklace like one with thread or beads for galas or outdoor events. I did buy one that is beautiful from Hungary last year. And I have several ones with Bedouin style bought from designers in my country for our oriental nights and evenings they give a different look and are good combinations.
Good list. I would add gold bangles, maybe instead of a cuff. It would depend on the thickness of one's wrist, length of fingers etc. I would also add gold hoops. With the hoops, you should hold them up to ears to see what size they should be for your face and which ones enhance your face and elongate your neck.
I was given a lovely herringbone style gold necklace in the 80’s. It was beautiful, but not flexible. The result was it became caught on a silk scarf, and one of the “bones” broke. It would have cost more to repair it than it was worth. 🤷♀️ I agree about the pearls. Every woman should have a strand 😊
I have many chain necklaces, normal in NJ where I live, those eatings are statement earrings, cuffs I’ve tried but they overwhelm my small wrist, so I opt for a bangle bracelet instead. Great topic, how about hats? They are really in this year, big brimmed straw ones, they are practical but can be glamorous too.
I have all of the jewelry except for the chain necklace and the tennis bracelet. In its stead I prefer pearls. One large and one small pearl bracelet, as well as a pearl necklace. Men seem to enjoy pearls.
I have 5 of the 6, missing only the tennis bracelet, which I've never liked. As many of the commenters have stated, an essential piece is a pearl necklace. I have 3: creamy white, pale pink, and black. Pearl stud earrings and gold hoops also belong in every women's jewelry box!
Your beautiful pearl earrings are statement earrings for sure. I keep looking for a chain necklace myself but they are hard to find a good one. Cheers Roberta
I have a gold pendant necklace that I wear every day, some cubic zirconia studs, a few watches, a gold and a silver cuff bracelet, lots of costume statement earrings, along with real pearl studs and a real pearl necklace.
Newbridge silver does lovely cuff bracelets in silver and gold. I have had mine for years and they are still in perfect condition. I have all the pieces you mentioned.
Heyyy new subbie from TX! I had to come back and share my little eBay finds since you inspired the purchases. I found a replica pair of .925 CC silver earrings. I hate replica anything but Chanel is just not in my budget! I sell cable 😂 absolutely beautiful in person and I got a warranty. I found a nice CC charm years ago at a flea market that’s still nice after all of these years. Going to pair that with a .925 snake chain and feel fabulous. LOL. That’s my everyday jewelry (I’m a bit tacky LOL so I can never be as classy as you!) but I remember you said we need a statement earring. I found a pair of fashion earrings like $2o bucks on eBay they have the silver CC and then a pearl underneath. Cuteeee. So I can wear my necklace but transition the earrings from day to night. I feel like Liz Taylor ha ha working from home in my jewels! Love love your channel
Another great video - thank you so much - your videos are keeping me going through lockdown! I have many costume pieces of these hiding in my jewellery box so i must hunt them out again! I don't have a cuff or a tennis bracelet though.
Buckley London are the best for custom jewelry on a Budget they make designer inspired jewelry at an affordable price. My jewelry must have basic list the following: -Diamond studs -Tennis bracelet - pear studs -pearl necklace -diamond solitaire pendant -simple hoop earrings - watch
I have stud earrings both expensive and cheap, I have quite good watches as well, I have chain necklace not an expensive one but one made of good material (thinking about investing in one expensive but I don't want to buy it from my country since they are all imported and so way expensive than being bought from abroad), I have statement earrings, and I have a cuff bracelet it is not expensive but it is good. Many online designers in my country use stainless steel and then they get it golden plated they do really look nice.
I have the diamond studs and tennis bracelet, Rolex and tank Cartier, San MARCO chain and bracelet, the exact same statement earring you have, no cuff. I was surprised not to see a pearl necklace OR MOBE pearl earrings (My absolute favorite)
My tennis bracelet has citrine stones, my diamond earring are moissante stones, my watch has an italian lira in the center, my statement necklace is a byzantine style necklace and my classic earrings are gold wide hoop, a drop pearl and pearl stud earrings...I also think a gold watch and pearl necklace should be part of your collection, I do not own a cuff bracelet but I am going to see if I can find a vintage one...
I have the the studs emerald cut white topaz and dupe to tribale earrings- my watch is black strap white face tank watch with silver color metal. No cuff tennis bracelet or chain necklace.
Great pieces. I do have all those pieces but I need more, ha ha. I have a beautiful cuff bracelet which is gold plated and no one can tell the difference. I'm sure you can find something similar. Great video.
I have a pearl necklace and a chain necklace. I also have a cuff bracelet but I have trouble deciding how to wear it. There's only one, do I need 2? How should I wear it and when, for what occasion?
I’d add a strand of pearls and a pearl bracelet. Not a fan of the gold cuff so I wouldn’t kill myself to own that. A gold bangle or two would work. I would also say gold hoop earrings. I especially like the kind that you can slide pearls onto.
I do wear jewelry, but I have never purchased expensive pieces. Take that back. I purchased a Bulova watch that I really like. My engagement ring is my most expensive piece and I didn't buy it. I do own two pair of cuff links. Bought them from a thrift store.
Have the diamond studs (well, diamonique!) in 2 sizes. Never wear a watch, don't like necklaces as I hate my neck, and feel they draw attention to it! I don't have statement earrings, nor a cuff or tennis bracelet. I have many other bracelets though, and along with earrings are something I wear every day. I feel pearl studs and gold hoops should be added to this list (and I do have those!).
Loved this video! I do not have genuine diamond studs, but I do have czs. I am not keen on Tennis bracelets-just personal opinion, never been attracted to them. I own beautiful antique cuffs. Watches: I love watches, I own a beautiful silvertone w gems for the silver days, gold tone, two tone and classic brown leather. I do have in collection statement earrings and necklaces(chain necklaces)-my other obsession, lastly I might have suggested a strand of pearls and a statement ring. 🤷🏻♀️
I still follow the rule of “no diamonds before sundown”, with the exception of wedding rings and simple, small stud earrings. I do think diamonds, real or almost-real, can be a little flashy for day, but hey, I’m older!
Better late as saying goes…. I think I have almost everything. My gold bracelet is not wide but matches gold neck chain A nice strin of pearls and an understated gold signet ring would be nice to add
White sapphire is a lovely natural gemstone, so why not, as a geologist, I always prefer a natural gem to a man made one, they are extra-beautiful. I think I have everything on this list except the tennis bracelet, I want one in white sapphire or natural moissanite with 14K yellow gold. Excuse me if I asked this before, but do you think a single or double classic strand of pearls would be dating or aging on a woman my age (61). I have only bought yellow gold with some pearls, but my heart craves a classic double strand, Mikimoto, preferably. But I don’t want to look grannyish.
As a vegan I don’t wear pearls, but I must admit that your Dior earrings are stunning, and bring out your beauty. I once bought a cheap tennis bracelet and it was a mistake. It’s not worth it - it looked tatty very quickly. I used to wear a lot of silver jewellery, but as I age I’m transitioning to gold for some reason. I’m slowly acquiring good pieces. Weird that there were no rings there! I have several statement gold rings that add pizzazz to an outfit.
Hi, I've just discovered your videos and I am finding them really useful! In the interests of openness, could you tell me if you were sent the items by Italo in return for the recommendations, or received any other benefit?
