Giving some new games some love! PoP: TLC really exceeded my expectations and I can't recommend it enough to anyone looking to get into Metroidvanias. They story is the only mildly lacking aspect of the game, but damn the gameplay is a hell of a lot of fun with way more in depth combat than a lot of MVs and super fun platforming! Protip if you don't want to spend 50 bucks (it's a bit steep IMO), just grab a 1 month Ubisoft+ subscription for 20 and cancel it and you'll easily clear the game in 30 days. If you've already been playing let me know your favourite amulets you've been running and any interesting combos you'd like to share :)

I feel like everyone on YT hates this game because the remakes are nowhere to be seen. Yes, I can understand that black characters don’t really fit in a game taking place in Persian mythology. I hate woke myself, and I find Netflix’s Cleopatra and Disney’s snow white to be completely deplorable. Also fuck people who want to force LGBTQ onto children. Gender dysmorphia is a mental sickness and nothing more. However, do you think that the “woke” is as bad in this game? I don’t really think so because Sargon, despite looking Jamaican, is likable and wants to fight for the sake of altruism and not because of some agenda. He is also an original character, so it’s not like a past character is being replaced. And it’s more excusable because the game is absolutely good. It’s no masterpiece and has flaws, but hiving the game a 7 or 8/10 is respectable. What do you think?

Definitely encourage everyone to read through the comments on this video. There are a lot of interesting insights about amulet use, and various ways to combine them that didn't get covered in this video (in fairness, there are lots of permutations and OP did an amazing job of covering most use cases).

Me and my dad play together with 2 controllers and during combat he does everything except he uses the shadow explosions which don't stop movement at all to use and I just blow stuff up while he does the rest it work incredible

My headcanon for Blade Dancer is that Vahram knew he is fighting us and tricked us with this armulet to make us easier to hit. So it was a noob trap by design.

6:51 if you equip this amulet with the one that gives you 3 extra health bar that can only be regenerated at wak wak trees it actually stays active untill those extra 3 health bars run out i had those two amulets equipped the whole time it was great

Oh wow great shout I'm not* sure why I didn't pair those together, that's definitely an amazing combo then. Still a rough go endgame since most enemies will hit for 3+ but at least you get a chance to survive one more hit depending on the enemy

Yea I also rocked this combo early game! But it becomes pretty much inconsequential once you near endgame tho, since most attacks take more than 3 health portions by that point

I want to point out that despite a lot of us disagreeing on a few amulets, you're an S tier content creator for making this so early at release. This game is criminally underrated, yet at the same time highly praised. I wish we had new game plus or a sequel. One of the best games I've played in a while

Arslans Glory and Blessing together are a Godsend, actually. Fully upgraded, blessing gives you three full health bars worth of free damage boost real estate

When it comes to the elusive water amulet, the biggest reason for it's use is that one successful counter with it guarantees one entire super bar, do this 3 times and when you get good at it, you can basically spam level 3 supers.

This is true. I've been using elusive water in boss fights, and it actually evades the unparry-able attacks+does couple hits of extra damage if you get the timing right (which you would if you're used to parrying anyway). I'm using it on my parry/evade build and it is super effective

@@aneeshhgkar There are some limitations, some red attacks can't be parried with it, but it's all about figuring out which ones, once you do, this borderlime breaks the game.

@@whoevencares219 agreed. I did find there were some red boss attacks I couldn't dodge behind. Though for normal mobs if works on pretty much all their attacks. Especially paired with Rukhsana's gift, the wind amulet and the time stopping shield amulet, you can basically make an amazing dodge/parry build

You missed one of the best Amulet combo that I used for full game (Arslan's Glory + Blessing) it will give you +50% damage for 3 gold health bar. arslan's glory only lose it effect after you lose all three Blassing health bar and then a little more.

The divine spear is S+ tier for me as it hugely fills the athra bar when you hit an ennemy with it, more effectively than the Ayyar amulet. Thanks to it, I easily beat bosses. I am surprised that no one here noticed that.

Hey I don't know if you know this, but the divine spear amulet works with the chakram teleport ability. its really good and when paired with Ayyar amulet, can generate a lot of athra.

Dragon king amulet plus an Athra gauge build and the level three athra surge gives you essentially three full lives (if not more)

Definitely can be annoying but at rank 3 they almost always stay within the slow aoe and bosses don't get pushed back nearly as much I find

If you get the muscle memory to do a low slash after a parry then it’ll have less knock back

What I usually do is just slide around the enemy and push them towards the center of the bubble as much as possible.

Elusive Water came in handy in one boss fight in particular - Menolias. It was tricky to use and took me a bit to get the timing, but because of how squirmy he was, it worked well for me. I never used it again.

Arslan's Glory can be use with an amulet +3 addition HP and Amulet that heal you by pairing

I disagree that the Blessing amulet is garbage. Paired with Arslan's Glory (full health damage) gives you increased damage, even after you get hit a few times. Cause the yellow health notches doesn't count as full health.

Completely fair for early game but it requires a lot of time crystals to upgrade to tier 3 that could have instead been invested into other damage boosters. Once you hid mid to late game a single hit will almost always do more than 3 notches of health. It still is a legitimate buffer to keep arslans running though!

@20:45 - While Blessing is On, you are considerate Full HP.. So not that bad if you pair it with amulet that give you +50% DMG at full HP (arslans glory).. And with amulet that reduce melee DMG.. So you can take 4-6 hit and still be "full HP''. My favorite combo amulet S+ for me.

19:31 Four Royal Stars is great in some of the later boss fights (like King Darius) where you are in the air for a good chunk of the time anyway. In exploration, not so much.

i think dropping blessin in F tier was disingenuous because as someone who beat the game on immortal i ALWAYS had it on for exploration and it felt like it had some damage reduction? like sometimes i would get hit badly, with what i would presume does more damage but it only takes away from the golden bars (ps ofc i stopped using it when i had found enough petals)

I think Rukhsana's gift is usually better than starving heart. Bosses usually have some attacks that are really easy to perrym I remember like fighting the snake you can pretty much instantly recover 3 bars of health easily by just parrying projetiles. If you are good at parrying you are always going to recover more healt than with starving heart. The situation starving hearth is better is if you are bad at platforming and you hit spikes often, but even in higher difficulty you may take more damage from enaviroment so the starqving heart recovery may not matter anyway If you don't want to just standing around doing nothing.

Shield of Mithra also helpful to pull off a Blade Dancer combo due to the time it gives you before getting hit. If i have a little time i will experiment a bit with the Blade Dancer, because im curious if it has some furtrher hidden potential. At first i will test if i shadow-clone myself at the mid of the third hit of a combo and unleash the teleport, can i continue the attack directly from the third hit and give a nice punisher with a 3-hit Blade Dancer.

I disagree about ruksana gift Amulet because for a parry enjoyer like me it is very useful during boss fight or for normal enemies also (because it more regenerate than one health slot at maximum level and because of that i able toh save my healing portion) other than this agree with other Amulet rating

I rocked dragon king all the way through Hero with the exception of Orod and final Vahram where I felt I needed damage to push through phases more quickly. Having a cheat death skill is just too good.

I agree. Especially in boss fights, it's so useful. The Azhdaha fight where she kept throwing the light spikes at me from her tail, all I needed to do was parry them and I was at max health every time.

This is an “S” tier guide. I’m going to completely revamp my amulet loadout! edit: the only thing I would change is the summary of the amulets. Putting the names of the amulet next to its picture and rank would be very helpful. Otherwise, thanks for putting in the work, great video!

how is Shield of Mithra S+? is it just me or am i the only one finding this amulet bad? like sure it is visually cool but like parrying an enemy freezes the enemy for a second its not much different than a parry without the amulet the enemy also gets stunned for a second so whats the point?

On top of that the next attack you do makes Sargon do a 420 IQ move of pushing the enemy away almost out of the bubble. You have to use a different attack not to push them away like a low attack.

Agreed, and the other factor is that it messes with your muscle memory for the enemies' attack timings. Anything that makes enemy movement less predictable is bad imo (also, 3 slots for it).

Shield of Mithra is S+ tier? what do u really do within that bubble anyway? If u say so u should show some combos or finisher with that, instead of just blocking then stand still in that bubble..

Sorry for not showing any flashy combos, I didn't want to spoil any fights and felt it was better to showcase the effect itself rather than the combos. You can definitely go to town on pretty much anything during the slow though, it's extremely powerful

I used it but apart from bubble, I couldnt do anything else, the slow room is only seconds and it's easy to follow up making the animation of pushing enemies away, making no damages at all

I absolutely agree with this tier list. I didnt know the sword damage reduction was so low on the health regeneration amulet (not the one that requires parry). I might start using that now, instead of the one that increases sword damage while airborne, during regular gameplay. For boss fights I'll put the airborne damage one on, because i do like to jump around a lot in boss fights. Also, the chakram tempest amulet is absolutely crazy good. In the mini boss fight with the 2 sargon clones, i literally kept them stun locked the whole time with chakram tempest. Also something to note with void blade. Its braindead easy to stun lock single enemies by attacking so the beam goes off, and then using the charge attack for another athra beam, waiting a second for the beam amulet to recharge and do it again. If youre good at timing with the chakram tempest, you can easily take down groups of small enemies this way. As for large enemies that cant be stun locked, the best approach is either keeping your distance and spamming your void blade with the charged attack beam, or doing short bursts of damage close ranges while dodging their attacks.

At least on immortal difficulty, the Dragon King amulet won’t always save you if you have low health and take massive damage from a boss’s special attack. You’ll be revived, and the game will still subtract the damage that was owed from your renewed HP. So, I agree, the best defense is offense. Save the slots for more damage output boost.

21:00 - did you call Blessing trash? Maybe if you‘re playing on normal or easy, but combined with Arslan‘s Glory it’s basically up the entire time because even if you get hit, you‘re still in the extra health area which means AG is still up. Plus, you die so fast on Immo anyways, I don’t see why you’d make an argument to call it trash when it’s literally just a single slot 💀
