Spending Sunday afternoon looking at a lot of your videos on this one you mentioned the Tropicana juice train I see that on a daily basis only it is on the Florida East Coast railway from Jacksonville to Miami usually in the midday train number 103 there is a live camera on virtual railfan it is the Cocoa Beach North camera pretty soon will be seeing a lot of bright line on there. I am in Orlando lady friend is from suburbs of Philly enjoy your videos very much.
I was hoping you would see my comment. I have a question. Does the Amtrak silver star use the same rails going across the state to Miami as the silver meteor? I know it has to backtrack after Tampa. I live in Orlando and they both stop here
The Dahlgren branch ironically does not go to Dahlgren anymore. It only reaches as far as Sealston in King George County. it still serves a power plant, waste dump, and possibly some other industries, but the first 2 I know for sure. I do like how it’s still called Dahlgren Junction however.
Near Aquia Creek crossing is Aquia Harbor housing community. A private community much like Sea Gate in Brooklyn with it's own police force. My old office is right behind the L'Enfant Plaza station, home to Smithsonian Office of Protection Services and Customs and Border Protection. Just a heads up but a couple of Amtrak trains do make a stop there. I think 95 to Norfolk does as does it's counterpart (or at least it did) At Braddock Rd station, about 5 minutes away is a Roy Rogers restaurant in a shopping center. There's also a Roy Rogers near the Rockville MD station. I always hit them when I go to DC..
@@3985uprr From an Amtrak guy I know: 95, 125 and 171 make L'Enfant plaza going south while 86, 174 and 176 make it going north. The trains involved are listed in the VRE timetables since they stop on behalf on VRE as part of a cross honor agreement.
NS uses the old Van Dorn yard for ethanol transloading (rail to truck). It used to come in unit trains (symbol was 64A/6A4), but now the cars move on locals.
Trains in VA are greatly improved Tim. RT95 on the other hand is freaking MESS! The state converted the HOV lanes to an EZpass lanes. The problem is that the new EZpass lanes end just above Fredericksburg and it's 8 lanes down to 3. My sister lives in Spotsylvania Va and it adds 3 hours to my trip. Sheesh! 😮
@@3985uprr I would be nice to ride the train... When I planed out the trip on maps I get a minimum of 8 to 9 hours trip time I left it there I will research it some more riding the train seems doable... Used to be a three-hour drive 🙄
Could anyone recommend a good, reasonably-priced movie-making program? I have some railfan videos from January of this year I'd love to share on RU-vid, as well as those Cherry Blossom Festival videos I mentioned a while back.
Great video! From what I am hearing, the Nathan C5A-CWP horns are much nicer than whatever horn they have on the LIRR's C3 cab cars. Your thoughts about the Nathan AirChime P3 horns that the South Shore runs? IMHO Nathan makes some really nice horns.
The VRE put the C3 horns to the penultimate shame. How can you put the VRE horns and the C3 horns in the same sentence? The SS P3’s are nice as well as the Septa SV5 K3LA’s
