I got E6 hook trying to get seele. You learn very very quickly which enemies are immune to burning lol. She goes from hitting like 11k skills to barely 7k
When i watch guides on other channels, i always expect them to look like yours, but they never are. Those guidemakers just reading characters talent descriptions, recommends obvious artifact sets and main stats and thats all. No in-depth mechanic explanations, no calcs, no stat caps, stat priorities, rotations, energy requirements, no teambuilding, just nothing. I can learn the same amount of information from their guides by simply logging into a game and reading skills descriptions. You are the only guidemaker who provide really useful info with a little touch of theorycrafting, or at least i havent found them yet.

She's my main DPS, I put Guinafere card for Fire MC and run her alongside him & Asta to keep enemies burning which proc her talents & passives from Eidolons.. TBH, her & Fire MC are quite able to sustain themselves as they can regen HP & energy quite easily.. Oh and her back story is the most adorable & relatable to me personally..😂
One thing I noticed with Hook Talent is that breaking also procs talent on the same hit, meaning you can also do Ult Skill. It means you can be more flexible with your rotations (like using Ult into Skill) and pairs very well with her E4 if you have it.
As of 2.3, best 4pc is Pioneer Diver for BiS; Prisoner in Confinement works on a DoT team. For Planars, Rutilant Arena or Glamoth works well (Glamoth is a better Space Sealing Station), and if you're doing Harmony MC Super Break team, Kalpagni Lantern set can help her damage
E6 hook has Helped me so much in moc, with asta dancex3. Its nice having her dupe upgrades too. I feel more unserwhelned by e6 dan and his a6 trace when i compare it with hook
@@guobacertified right, i think it can just be hard to use him for MoC later stages sometimes because of how you have to AOE heal/shield your team a lot and it feels bad when your trigger his passive at wrong times. i do notice that bronya fixes a lot of the issues i have there tho for him
A cheeky probability is that there is 3 destruction units releasing over the next 3 patches. So Hook is likely to highly benefit from MoC buffs and "becoming meta" in the public eye. I'll also just be building A Secret Vow LC, feels like a better use of resources long term, gacha though.
Yeah I had a thing at the start talking about the buffs not favouring her, but we on nihility buff patch so it was outdated. Hook with buffs sounds fun. Secret Vow is op, so go ahead ^^
Great guide! That said, some number on the Eidolon sections would be appreciated, even if things like 'amazing', 'great', 'decent' can be intentionally vague. When Hook takes the role of the main damage dealer, it is kinda important to know if an Eidolon is a +20% overall damage output or like +5%. Is an E6 Hook mono fire team twice as good as a E0 one? For me at least, that's often a thing to consider if I wanna build a character. Example: Qinque's Eidolons almost double her damage from E0 to E6. E6 being close ot E0 Seele in certain situations even. But that also tells me if I wait a little longer investing into her until I grab some key Eidolons (E4), I'd be much better off.
I showed her E1 damage gain. E2 is just duration. E4 is just QoL. E6 you just add 20% to all damage. With more damage buffs its a smaller increase, but at 80% Dmg buffs its still an 11% damage increase. Its not as nuanced as the other characters, but maybe I can on the next one even if its not nuanced. She doesnt double her damage, shes more of an E0 amazing unit than a E6 carry like QQ.

My main since day 1. I have seele but she is just a second dps Hook is my favourite out of all the characters. I did get the destruction lc for her and got it to 5 from herta
I play her in a particular way, I play her SP neutral just to burn enemies, then use the dog L cone on phy Mc as main dps, so hook for single target and aoe burn and physical Mc for aoe damage with increased damage against burned enemies.
Bonus: you get to se her falling more often, Real bonus: mc and hook have are distraction path with sustain so you can run a damage support for the 3 slot.
I recently saw a CN theorycrafter showing Welt team (with SW Yukong and Luocha) has the potential to be as strong as Seele, both at c0 Yukong can hold Planetary Rendezvous and has built-in team-wide Imaginary dmg boost What's your thought on this? Since Welt isnt known to be a dmg dealer (that strong, at least)
@@djgolden5903 i don’t think we have enough information on DanHeng IL at the moment As a dps, surely he is better than Welt I might personally switch out Yukong for him, with Welt as a sub-dps support But we’ll have to wait
Thats a mono team idea ive talked about in the past, and it can be pretty strong. Welt wont do the same damage as seele (you run harmony with seele too) but its really good. Welt with proper builds and setup/eidolons can do some nutty damage tho
@@guobacertified idk if uve looked at leaks, but IL is an IMG destruction dps character who can deal alot of dmg, in a mono img team, would u pair yukong or welt as a support for him, taking into account that IL has crazy SP usage, he can use up to 3 in one turn, but he also has an ability where if u use his ult, u can get 4 SP points that u can use just for IL, in this case yukong may offer more buffs but shes also more sp hungry so i was wondering who would u pair him with in a mono img comp
Ahehe, for tanks I suggest building Fire MC & Gepard if you have it, if not, then go for M7.. Build Natasha & Bailu if you got them as Luocha is more of utility unit instead of main healer unit cuz his heal is not controllable, means, you can't heal those who got CCed.. For sub-DPS/support slots, build anyone that can buff your main DPS, for me who runs Pitch Dark Hook the Great and Sushang, I build Asta for SPD, buffs & turn manipulation.. She's a Destruction char which means, she won't be as bursty as Hunt cuz Destruction in this game is somewhat function like a bruiser (think of Ursa, Huskar, Naix, Slardar in DoTA or Jax, Darius, Sett in LoL), they deal significant amount of damage and can carry you while also being able to soak some damage too.. The only Hunt chars I build are Sushang & Danheng cuz Yanqing is too costly for me..😂 Oh and you don't need healer if you run Hook alongside Gepard, just put her beside him and then add support units like Asta, Pela, Tingyun or Sampo..

They both have cleanse on skill, and on top of that, Luocha will auto-cleanse if enemy drops someone below 50%. His ability to dispell both enemies and allies is one of his main selling points
@@Equilest well, Nat can clinch the party whenever we want, including those who got CC'ed (entangled, frozen, etc).. Luocha is great but when, say, our DPS got frozen or imprisoned, that DPS need to be cleansed first before it can heal itself by attacking.. :\ I personally don't think I'd be able to keep my party from getting CC'ed during long battles in MoC, but that's my subjective opinion tho..
@@linuxjodi4311 But i want to ask... What difference is there, if both Natasha and Luocha have cleanse on skill, with difference being that Luocha can either do so manually or whenever someone drops below 50% HP automatically? If anything, Luocha by default should fair better here.
I have a question for her E1: is it an actual true multiplier to the motion value ( or also to the actual output dmg) or is it just an additive dmg bonus that gets added for example to her fire dmg? I ask this because in Genshin almost all of the effects labelled as “does x% extra dmg” is in reality an additive bonus dmg % and not a true multiplier. Did you test it?
@@guobacertified yeah but that way is quite misleading to those who don't know much about the dmg calc, because for a dps like her you want to always use a dmg bonus orb, therefore when added to it and other possible buffs this dmg bonus of E1 is not as much of an increase as you made it sound like. Imo i think you should warn people about it going forward. :)
2 months late to the video, but i have a great setup with Hook/Himeko/Asta + tank/heal, with himeko as a sub dps mostly doing damage from her ultimate + her follow up make her work quite well with hook, and asta being able to buff both of them makes it a strong team imo
I dont agree with 2 things. 1. No need for speed boots i never had a problem with hook being too slow she couldnt act before the fight was over. I recommend just getting atk boots and if you run harmony get the advance forward one if you really dont wanna take a single tick of dmg which doesnt matter she can heal it off herself. Or use welt and slow em down if you want to but not neccesary for her to have speed boots. 2.The crit dmg set of orbs is really good for her too. Idk why people ignore it like its just a lotta free stats. Sure Crit rate orb is neat but it enhances Follow ups which hook doesnt do
Speed boots are mandatory on her. MoC has enemy speeds of 140+. You're using teammates that help her take turns, which is what I said in the vid ^^ Crit damage set has the stat boost, and nothing else. The first turn thing is terrible, you don't one turn anything.
Thank you for the great guide Guoba :) I was wondering, do you have a video explaining the math behind imprisonment and delay actio. %? I was wondering if, for example, Welt's ult delays enemies more if I use it right after the enemy acts or if it delays more if an enemy's speed is reduced (since that'll make their action value higher).
Delay action will remain strong at all points, because youre always reducing it by the same amount regardless of their current AV. Slows increase strength the further an enemy is away, as it affects their AV for that whole turn. So prioritize slows when they are further.
How is woof time better than her signature lc, for example with both of them S5. Her signature light cone gives a +72% atk vs woof walk times +52. (Only comparing those 2 cuz I don’t have the herta one)
What on your thoughts on Hook vs. something like DPS Asta at When both have eidolons (E4 being the breakpoint for 2 skill Asta). Asta can also make good use of the Fire Relic set, and her numbers and attack buff are very high. If you're already doing 2 skills for Asta's rotation, how hard can you make them hit, and how good is a damage oriented 2 turn Ult build versus standard fire carries?
Her multis are weaker than Hook, shes more of a break carry IMO. Theyre still high, so its possible, but wont out perform hooky. I will be discussing her 2 turn ult in a video so you can find out soon ^^
@Guoba Certified I expected her individual damage would be lower, curious how it sheets out for total team damage. One skill point happy fire unit to another.
Hooks single target damage is actually *disgusting* like she has consistently done more damage that all my 5 stars except maybe clara *but svarog is an actual war machine*

About Hook's Eidolons, is her E1 counts as elem% damage or it is another multiplier? Cuz the formula said "all dmg boost", meaning it's additive not multiplicative

Would It be ok running hook with DOT in mind for kafka's team against enemies with fire weakness instead of crit build? I have her E4 and she can apply burn easy but maybe is a dps loss idk

Man, I would love to build her more than Himeko, but I already have Himeko at lv60(w8ing to be upgraded to lv70), and I don't have Asta built at all. I have E2 Hook and E0 Himeko and am on the fence with benching Himeko and investing in Hook, but idk..is she better than Himeko in MoC??

I usually love your videos, but this one has pushed my limits. Why would you ever disrespect himeko like that. She is literally the behemoth of star rail. Did you know her ultimate is a actual nuke (wow!) You will never fail with himeko in any kind of content because at E6 and S5 Before dawn at lvl 80 and fully maxed traces she outdps for example the following characters
That comp would be just fine in SU but gonna need a better skill points management during MoC cuz we gonna need Fire MC to taunt for damage mitigation from his passive but also need SW skills for enemy weakness..😅
You indirectly get damage mitigation while breaking enemies, especially if you do so with SW because she delays the enemy's turn. One big problem with high level enemies would be the burn consistency, which gives Hook the majority of her multipliers
@@Battlefield3249 hence I build Asta and Fire MC with Effect Hit Rate, and yes, Trend of the Universal Market card is better for him as the burn damage scales from his DEF.. I put Day One on Gepard.. 😶
