Mine just arrived today, wow, learning all the adjustments now, also ordered the Atlas headrest, but they are a few months backed up, first impressions are amazing, but I really need that headrest, black w/ cyan, Thanks for all the helpful videos which helped me in the decision making
6'5" 280 lbs and I love this chair. The chair back hits my upper back and not at my shoulders but not really a bad thing. The chair back does a great job conforming to my back so it can be barely noticeable where the top of the chair back ends. I was quite worried that I wouldnt quite make the transition to this comfortably, because it does encourage better posture and sitting back in the chair really makes the chair more comfortable, as it puts the chair back into proper position to do what it is meant to do. After about a week I felt neutral about it, then after two weeks I wondered what I would be willing to sit in after it.
Maybe a leap v2 or haworth fern or the steelcase gester... I'm a big guy too and love the leap v2 but daily my embody. You might love the leap v2 plus if you can find one.
I am 6'3" 180lbs and have owned this chair since 2014. I cannot recommend it enough. Both my job and my hobbies have me in a chair for the bulk of my day; so I researched chairs with my future health in mind. I love that the Embody encourages me to use good ergonomics, but also doesn't punish me to a noticeable extent if I want to be slouched back or off to the side. I was blown away at how comfortable the seat and back were despite there being no traditional cushion, to the point where I prefer this over the extremely padded chairs at work. I feel less fatigued, sore or pinched after a long session than any other chair I've owned or used. After 8 years now (2022) my chair looks almost as good as the day I bought it. Despite it being mainly plastic and still having the original seat material. There is barely any sign of wear; despite being used almost every day with more 16+ hour gaming sessions than I care to admit too. If you have to be in a chair for long periods, you should always get up and move around at least once an hour... but human nature informs us we are not always going to do that. Knowing that, make the investment in your future health and get a good chair. I'm in my 50's now, all the stupid stuff I did when I was younger has started to catch up with me. I take my health more seriously and I don't regret a dime of what I spent on this chair. It is worth it.
@@nickknudson2394 pads wear on those pretty fast, more QC issues, too. If they were less expensive, they’d make a better alternative to Herman Miller chairs.
@@nickknudson2394 i agree, the leaps and gestures are way more comfortable within the first 20 minutes of sitting but the embody keeps you comfortable ALL DAY. I get way more support by the embody and it disperses the force of my bony ass SO WELL. This is not something a comfortable cushion can do because that’s not how cushions work…they only absorb force. Herman miller just got their engineering right.
Got my Atlas Headrest today....have had my embody for a 4 years now and still love it. legit the best chair ever. The headrest sends it to another level I didn't think was possible!
Seeing as this is the only Embody review you'll need to watch, and I've annoyed Ahnestly with enough of my comments today, I'm going to drop one more thing here specifically for anyone considering the Logitech Embody. If you watch Logitech Embody specific reviews you may see mention that the foam padding in the seat is cut off and you can feel where the foam ends. Initially, the Logitech Embody was in fact designed this way and only covered the seat at it's minimum seat depth, and when extended at all the extended area was unpadded. I received my Logi Embody from Herman Miller about a week and a half ago now and realized I did not noticed this problem, and my foam is in fact covering the entire extended seat. After collaborating with some people on the Herman Miller subreddit we found out that all Logitech Embodies produced after ~2/12/21 (Maybe up to a week earlier, but no more, we don't have an exact date pinned) have been revised and the copper infused foam will cover the entirety of the seat, even when fully extended, so this is no longer a con to take into consideration unless buying your Logitech Embody used. Important to note: You won't see this issue mentioned in any UK based reviewers coverage of the chair, and this issue will not be worth considering when buying used in the UK, as due to different regulations there the Logitech Embody's UK variant has always had full seat foam coverage. The thread is available here for anyone interested: www.reddit.com/r/hermanmiller/comments/m1k9ya/embody_gaming_refresh_in_north_america/?
@@warrentran The Logitech Embody has a section of foam padding along the spine, which the standard does not. This bothers some people to no end (can make a little noise when rubbing up against the back, and on occasion some people have complained about it causing some discomfort.) It's something that the majority of people are indifferent about, but some are irritated by. At this point the biggest reason to get a Logitech variant is just if you really like the aesthetics, to be completely honest.
Had no idea why this appeared in my recommended until you started playing the intro to Getlemen Don't, and then I suddenly understood. But hey, have a sub for that.
Hmm I actually went to a local HM dealer today in my city, and going in after seeing raving reviews on youtube about the Embody, surprisingly I didn't love it. The back definitely didn't "flex" as much or as easily as it seemed in the video, and what I noticed is, when I turned side to side to "stretch" my back, I noticed the middle of the upper back was pushing up against my spine in a painful manner. I can also feel the "system" of the back rest quite easily through the fabric. It's definitely not a terrible chair, but I think for me I found the Aeron so much more comfortable and supportive.
I just bought the black Logitech version of the Embody... should get here today! I was scared to watch your review since I already bought the chair, but I'm glad to hear you enjoy it!
@@Ahnestly Awesome! I also just saw your review on the Neue Chair, which is the chair I'm coming from... I've had it for a few years, and it is really starting to hurt my back, even with the headrest... I finally decided enough is enough... I'm getting my dream chair (I've reached peak nerd... I have a dream chair....)
@@Ahnestly I would feel a ton of pressure all along my lower back. Did research on reddit and people reported that you'll feel that for a few days. After that initial adjustment period, I would feel this cooling sensation across my lower back whenever I'd stand. I think this chair legit fixed my back.
Hi from Down Under. I've just started using my new Embody today following your fantastic RU-vid reviews. However, if the chair is not as good as you say then I'll be knocking on your door to give you a piece of my mind! The only thing I was disappointed about was the fact that it doesn't have a forward tilt as I use my keyboard all of the time, unlike you gamers who just slouch around all day. It took me a few hours before I discovered that the chair can be used in forward tilt mode - something that is probably well-known to experts such as yourself. I am very happy with the chair and find the seat more comfortable than my Steelcase Leap, although I prefer the lumbar support of the Leap better for me. I was delighted with myself when I discovered that the Embody can be used in the forward tilt mode by reversing the tilting process. With one or two feet on an angled foot rest, probably there is more control with just the one foot for better balance, I sit up against the desk and loosen the recline tension so that it is comfortable to recline into the upright position - the reverse of its intention. Also I lock the tilt limiter at the first setting so as not to catapult backwards. Later on I will order a head rest from Atlas which has a current lead time of 3 months. I haven't found your review of the production model but will keep searching. Keep up the good work. Alan.
First of all, let me stop you. Since you were going to dish out the money to fly out all the way over here, why not buy me a ticket instead and I'll fly over to you ;-D hahaha. The Embody is still my favorite chair overall. I am slightly confused by how you're sitting in forward tilt mode! Would love to see a video or even a Paint sketch of how you're sitting! (are you just sitting on the front lip of the chair, which flexes and bends forward slightly?). As for the headrest, I managed to bungle up the one they sent to me so waiting on another! Fingers crossed it comes in this week!
I have to send a warning. I have narrow hips and let me tell you this was somehow the most uncomfortable chair I've ever sat in. It was such a shame, I gave it a week, but everytime I'd sit, it would take only 30 minutes before immense leg and tailbone pain. If you have a "normal" body type, then this chair will probably be amazing. But if you're thinner and have a narrow waist, don't do it. This this chair will be wildly uncomfortable.
I really wanted to like this chair. Sadly this one doesn't work for me, the lowest supporting pixels are stiff and don't move at all, poking inside my lower back. Tilting the back so it's less pronounced makes my shoulders and neck hurt. The extended part of the seat is also not pixelated and you can feel the difference between the extended and non-extended part. This is less pronounced if you wear something like Jeans. Either way HM has quite the customer service, so I'm having mine returned, I suggest trying all of these for yourself if you get the same kind of service where you live. @Ahnestly I would love to see a review of the steelcase gesture on your channel, you do bring up a lot of great points.
Hey man. I don't know if you remember me from asking a ton of questions about Aerons on your other videos. I bought the Aeron and returned my Embody gaming because of the headrest. I needed a headrest for when I recline. I'm really satisfied with my Aeron and the Atlas headrest. Thank you a lot for answering my questions. It's a shame that Atlas doesn't already have a headrest for the Embody consider the chair has been on the market for almost 15 years now. I really like the Embody for its futuristic design and its flat softer seat pan. I would've kept the Embody if there was a headrest on the market for it. Such a shame.
Does the embody offer solid lumbar support? I see it wraps the whole back, just wanted to know if it feels supported at the lower back. Thank you. Great video brother.
For the arms you are actually are supposed to hold the buttons while you make any adjustments in out and up and down that's why it is so hard for you to adjust
So I think at this point, I am Embody all the way. Every time I sit on my Aeron though, I'm always like damn that feels good. The Embody just gives me more flexibility and I LOVE the way my butt feels when I sit in it. The Aeron feels better on my lower back though! The Gaming Aeron is different...it has a different back support than the classic Aerons.
Hope they get 4D-arms, or at least some good armrest depth adjustment. I like being able to get the armest right under my arms on height with the table, while getting very close to the table.
oh god i hope they make headrest. i have the embody logitech. its the most comfy chair i own. only problem is neck get stiff with these chair after long hours and i fell asleep twice
Having come from a previous video and saw this one recommended, of course I watched it since I'm leaning so heavily toward the Embody. In a separate tab, I emailed a local HM authorized retailer to see if they have regular Embodys in stock for proper fitment. Again, to your comments about Atlas making headrests for the Embody, ОЧЕН ХОЧУ!!
@@Ahnestly Just put in the order... pay once cry once. Went ahead and messaged the Atlas team that I found their company from your channel and expressed interest in some kinda waiting list or something for interest in the embody headrest. Appreciate your content!
are you planning on doing a review on the Logitech gaming Version? Also, how does the regular embody feel for people who lean forward a lot (like when gaming)? I heard people saying it pokes people on the lower back who are upright or leaning forward
I lean back more than I lean forward but the lower back doesn't bother me at all. And as of now, no plans to review the gaming edition. I don't think it's worth it - cooling gel, but less breathability is a deal breaker for me
Do you prefer the Embody or Aeron? I'm also looking at Steelcase Gesture or Leap V2. Would love your opinion. I have lower back pain. Thanks for these videos.
Np np. I prefer the Embody. I plan to do that video once I get a little breathing room...I have a lot of videos I need to get done, so it's been kinda crazy...
@@Ahnestly Agreed! Bought the aeron, and it's kind of uncomfortable for me, so thinking of swapping out for an embody myself. I do music production, and they are all over the industry, so thought it'd be the best productivity chair. I get it, I'm just a 5'7" dude with pretty thick legs from biking a lot, so I can't get comfortable in the size b. And that's my life story Lol
You sold me this chair. I was very interested in it, but the lack of headrest was a big problem for me. Now that I know one is in the oven from Atlas, damn I go for it! The only thing is, I'm not sure if I'll keep it for home or office :/ I don't have the budget for 2 !!! :P Thanks for the nice review!
Hello, great video! I want to let you know, and sorry if someone has said already, but if you want to adjust your armrest towards or away from you, you can lift up slightly on the armrest and move it gently. Don't have to be brutal to the chair! :-)
Dude your review couldn't have come at a better time. I've been undecided between the Aeron Gaming and Black and White Embody until now. You really thought outside the box for features that other reviewers have not covered. All I needed to confirm my buying decision was the fact that I can play guitar in it and that a headrest is on the way!! What more can you tell us on the headrest?! WE NEED TO KNOW!!
Hahaha they told me I could disclose it'll be 9-12 months before they put it out. Make sure you subscribe - pretty sure I'll be getting one to review/explain
The chair has comfortable seat and backrest. Unfortunately, the armrest depth is not adjustable. This makes it impossible to set the armrest at the same height as your desk while sitting close to the desk, which is a dealbreaker for me as an office chair.
Oh you must sit incredibly close to your desk! I sit fairly far back so my keyboard's lowest part sits about 3 inches from the edge of my desk and it works perfectly!
@@Ahnestly Thanks for your reply. I want to keep my elbows close to my torso and form a 90-degree joint angle. At this position, my chest need to be no more than about 9 inches away from the edge of my desk (Otherwise, I would haver to move my elbows forward to reach the keyboard and feel uncomfortable). The Embody armrests would bump into the desk at this distance. For reference, I dial the backrest knob to its loosest setting (i.e., with the backrest curve is at its most leaned-back position). If I dial the knob to its tightest setting, then the backrest moves forward and I can indeed get closer to the desk, but my lumber region is no longer supported by the backrest in this position. In my opinion, the Embody's large range of backrest shapes and its non-adjustable armrest depth are incompatible. It is disappointing that Herman Miller creates a well-built chair that is excellent in almost all aspects but ignores a basic functionality (armrest depth) that is present in many high-end chairs.
Lumbar is fantastic. Def not as cool as an Aeron - but gets pretty close. It's the best compromise in my opinion of fabric and breathability - it's the most breathable fabric, if that makes sense? However, breathability seems to drop pretty significantly if you go for the Sync fabric. The Balance is touted to be the most breathable.
@@Ahnestly Outstanding! I'm going to go sit in an Aeron today. Going to try to find an Embody to try to sit on. Any thoughts on the X Chair 2? No worries if not. Have a rockin day brother! 🤙🏻
Hey Ahnestly, hopefully I can ask a quick question of you? I had been doing research and recently landed on the Steelcase Amia. There's a dealer in my town and I was able to test-drive their chairs. They also have a hefty discount they're hooking me up with, so I was balling out on the options, like, leather seat, polished aluminum base, the works. I started having a few second thoughts about it though thinking about this chair. I can't test drive one, and I'm reasonably certain I'll be sticking with the Amia just because I know my gf likes it, and I *know* this is totally subjective and you kind of can't answer this, but: Do you think I would regret getting an Amia if I test-drove one of these later and really liked it? Do you use both IRL? Have either been your "daily driver"? Thanks!
Hey! I LOVE the Amia (not sure if you’ve seen my video) but the embody is my daily driver and my #1 pick. One benefit of the embody is it can have a headrest (coming soon) but the Amia can never have a headrest. If you have time, why not try the embody and then return it if you find you don’t like it over the Amia? Returns are super easy and then you can pick up the Amia after! Hope this helps! If you decide to pick up and embody, please consider using my link - it helps the channel a LOT!
Quick question: Why do you rank the Medley Fabric as the lousiest? I have a Steelcase Leap in Medley Pepper Black. I could have chosen Cogent Connect. Wondering if I made the wrong choice..
I picked one up today from DWR for 900. They said it was pretty much new since it was still wrapped with no signs of any usage. However, told me there's no warranty. Does HM require any form of purchasing documentation When trying to utilize their warranty?
Great video! Did Herman Miller stop offering the balance fabric? I only see the option for the medly and sync. I’m trying to order one and make sure that I order the fabric with the most breathability.
They still offer the Balance fabric in black and carbon but you have to reach out to HM directly and place a custom order. You can also do this through a local authorized dealer. Going through an authorized dealer will also save you about 30%-40% off of MSRP but you won't have the 30-day return policy HM offers.
Check HM's website for a list of authorized dealers near you. Then reach out to the AD and ask for a quote based on the configuration you're specifically interested in.
Man your videos are so good but at the mean time torturing my mind... I was going for the Secret Lab Titan but now I don't know anymore... I'm 192cm for 115kg and I don't know what to take... What would you really advise me? (Because I can't test any of them in the shop I have to rely on tests) - Aeron C (but I like to cross my right leg under my left one so I think it's not gonna be comfortable at all because of the plastic sides) - Embody/Embody Logitech : but is it going to be too small? And is there a real difference between the 2 models? - Secret Lab Titan XL I need your help please
Hey, I would recommend you go with the EMbody first and if you don't like it, return it (free exchange unlike Secret Lab) and pick up the Secret Lab. The Embody is plenty big - I just responded to a guy who's 6'6 (198cm) and he said it was super comfortable for him! @@Ahnestly thanks a mil for your answer. I will just need 2 more things: - Is the Embody Gaming worth the extra bucks Vs the Embody? - I'm in contact with the sales team and they advise me the Aeron over the Embody, here's their reply : "The Embody does not pass fire regulations for home use. Also, the adjustment mechanism can develop a creek over time, which in a quiet environment can become an issue for the user. In a busy office environment, this is not seen as an issue." What do you think? Sorry for asking a bench of questions but after watching thousands of vidéos about office chairs you're the one that seems the most expert to me 😅

If you decide to pick up and you're located in the USA, please consider using my links! Would really appreciate it!
@@Ahnestly Hi, I am located in Europe, otherwise I would definitely use your links. Well, what I’ve heard so far, Logitech version should be exactly the same with additional padding. I saw a video about the noise the chair makes but that is also about personal opinion I guess. Same with temperature distribution. I wonder what you think - are these too many downsides not to buy? I like the design, it’s currently on stock and other variations would mean 13 weeks waiting…and my back hurts already 😀
hey , are the embody gaming chairs made the same? i notice the sale goes longer and they are a hair cheaper. im split between the logitech embody sale. or a herman miller aeron v2 open box
I talk about the differences in this video Herman Miller Embody One Year Review + Headrest Update! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i4gnvmcD9V4.html If you decide to pick up, please consider using my links! Helps the channel a LOT!

@@LemonLimes99 NOOOO! not a cheaper version! Totally worth but you only have two color schemes to choose from and "New copper-fused cooling foam technology to prevent heat buildup." Though that feature is hit or miss according to real reviews.
So I just test out the Aeron size C and currently testing out the embody. I like the Aeron more for all the features, but i like the back of the Embody. Which one would you recommend to have better posture. I game and work a lot at home. So which one would you recommend for better posture and comfort? So far leaning towards the Aeron but not positive.
I went through this exact thought process myself. I ordered a fully loaded Aeron from HM a few weeks ago and I'm feeling some fomo as the deadline to exchange creeps closer. I keep having to remind myself that I do not like the armrests and that the back support, from what I have read in user reviews on Reddit, is not as good as the Aeron (or atleast for my use as a student). As of now, I think I'll be keeping my Aeron. Ultimately, the Aeron just seems like the better option for my use so I ordered the Atlas headrest to cement my decision. Just figured I would share my thoughts incase it helps. If you do decide to stay with the Aeron, I got a pad for when I want a cozier feel. I love everything about the Aeron except the non cozy feeling of pellicle mesh, but I ordered like 6 pads to try from Amazon for leisure time at my desk and it gives me the best of both worlds. I'll link the two seat pads and footrest that I kept incase you're interested. The gel pad is super thin and great for working and the thin memory foam pad is great for leisure. I watched a movie reclined in my Aeron the other night and it's more comfy than my couch with the memory foam pad, lol. @@mischievousamoeba Thank you so much. This helped out a lot. I think I'm going to get the Aeron as well. I really love the feel and all the adjustments you can do with it. Plus with the Atlas headrest, it puts the nail in the coffin. I'll definetly check out those paddings. One last thing, how is your posture in the Aeron?
Id you want proper posture, the Aeron will force it out of you unless you want to be uncomfortable in the chair. The embody will let you get away with more improper sitting. As for lumbar support, I still prefer my classic posture fit over the remastered posture fit so. There's just nothing like it and because I enjoy the feeling of that in my lower back, I sit up properly more versus slouching backwards in my chair
At this point, the remastered aeron with the posture fit sl is my least favorite of the 3 (classic aeron with posturefit, embody, and remastered aeron with posturefit sl). If you're not sure the difference between these 2 aerons, I recommend you check out my Aeron video on how to get one for cheap. I go over the differences there!
I never tried the sync, but I love the balance. I was worried it would be too thin, but I didn’t realize the seat was designed the way it is, so it provides plenty of cushion for me
a question: saw someone mention that the mid back doesn't even touch when sitting straight up, making the chair only give lumbar and shoulder support when in forward-lean "work mode". and a statement: the white plastic makes it look like some fucking geriatric assistance machine lmfao
Check out this video. I know it’s about the headrest, but use time stamps to find different people at different heights using the chair. @@Ahnestly The big bois didnt really showcase how it looked leaning forward tho, they were just relaxing back into it. I'm 6'2 and tend to lean forward a bit, which is what I ideally want a chair for. Tons of chairs are comfortable when basically lying down in them, the hard part is getting one that's good for sitting straight. Noticing my current chair (Ikea Markus) doesnt even touch my back above the lumbar when I sit straight, and I recall you mention that the embody isn't fully stiff in the back rest when sitting straight up, and that you instead bring the stiffness up fully to kind of fix that? I might be misremembering. In any case, that just feels like such an odd thing to do for a chair at this price.
I’m sitting in my Embody now (non gaming). When sitting straight up with backrest tension tightened, I get the chair supporting me all the way up my back! When backrest tension is loosened, I’m able to sit a tiny bit leaned back. Hope this helps! @@Ahnestly While I'd love to pick herman millers and steelcases up left and right and send em back if I don't like it, there seems to be a severe lack of this ability in Sweden. :/
Hey dude, not sure if someone might have mentioned this before, but to spread the arm rests, you have to lift it and then move it outwards. Don't force it :) Hope this helps!
My guy, I purchased an Aeron remastered yesterday from a local dealer after watching your review videos. I was debating between embody and aeron for 2 weeks and NOW you release this?! Haha.
regarding the arm rests: it really helps to lift the arms slightly and then move it in or out. Then it's actually working quite well, doesn't require too much of muscle or sound like you break something. Admittedly, it's still a little easier using both hands, but I manage to do it with one hand as well.
Really love this review! I also love my Embody chair! But I have to say that the biggest gripe/flaw in the chair are the arm rests! This may not be an issue depending on your height (I'm 185cm). I find that the arm rests sit far to forward and make it impossible too have the chair sit up against a desk whilst the arm rests are at the correct height to have your elbows/arms in an ergonomic resting position. If you're someone who leans back a lot, the arm rests are pretty unusable. I'd really love if the arm rests could've been able to move forward & back like the seat's cushion extender. Would even pay for a high quality aftermarket modification if they exist.
@Ahnestly I was very tempted to go with the Aerons due to their arms! 😅🤦 And thankyou for the videos! I was completely unaware of the future Embody headrest mod! Am eagerly awaiting more sneak peaks and news on this! Will likely be an instant purchase for me! 🙌 Can only dream that they might also look into making arm rests mods. 🤔😅
I’m having the same issue with my Embody. I’ve only had a couple of days and love everything about it except those darn armrests! I like to scoot in close to my desk, and they make it so challenging to do that while still using them properly as arm rests. If you find a good solution, do share!
After having the chair for a year and experiencing this myself it seems one of the most common failure points on the embody is the quite amazingly shitty internal design of the button mechanism. the way the button on the inside works is the button is 1 whole piece that extends into the arm with 1 arm pointing forward towards the front of arm rest and 1 arm pointing towards the back of the armrest and hovering above the sliding tube part of the arm. (forwards being toward the outer half of the seat where your legs dangle off and backwards being towards the backrest of the chair) inside the arm of the chair the front arm of the button extends out of and is held in place. This creates a lever action on the opposite arm of the button the rests above the sliding arm mechanism pulling the mechanism up and allowing the arm to move. It's fairly cheap and it's fairly effective the problem is that because it's made of plastic and not say.. metal so you strain the front arm of the button every time you push it and if there is any faults in it at all even microscopic ones repeated use can cause it to snap. Which it seems to... alarmingly often......
I just received my gaming Embody about a week ago, you won't be disappointed. :P The aches and pains in my back are massively reduced, and now when I go to habitually crack my back I don't hear a dozen little pops and cracks, maybe 1 or 2, and sometimes I just get nothing. Seems like it's really doing a good thing for my spine and I haven't been using the chair very long. Fair warning though, my tailbone hurt quite a bit the first few days while I adjusted to the chair due to my bad posture, so that's kind of a literal pain in the ass, lmao
Just got it in! It's amazing!!! I was super surprised on how small the chair is but when I sat in it, it blew me away. My old chair could not adjust the arm rest and so doing that on this chair, it relaxed my already tensed shoulders. I tweaked it a bit to my liking and it just feels good. Rolling is super smooth, and stretching out arms above and reaching behind the chair feels so natural.
The Logitech version chair is awesome isn’t it? I don’t know how I’ve gone this long without knowing anything about Herman Miller. This style chair has been out since 2009 when I was 26 and now I’m 39. The only difference is that I work from home permanently now due to the pandemic and I needed home office equipment. Now I have a top of the line chair. I bought mine Logitech because I wanted to ensure that I was getting a newly built chair and I only paid $1100 for the chair on eBay shipped brand new.
@@iHustleLXXXI Hey, I know this is an old comment, but I was looking into a logitech embody. Is the guy you bought from on ebay the one that ships from Canada for 1000 USD + 60 shipping? Any customs fees? Sticker on bottom? Came with the logitech clip for the back? I could get that one, or get one Saturday for 15% off MSRP. I don't know which way I want to go yet. I like that I have guaranteed warranty getting from a dealer, but it also costs 250+ more that way.
I'm currently using steelcase Leap v2. WARNING, if you weight more that 200lbs stay away from this chair...it was fine at first but the seat cushion started becoming painful. to the point where i just end up sitting on the floor to giv my back and butt a break from the chair.
Yeah, I got my new for that exact reason. I waited for a special offer which meant I didn't get the exact fabric I wanted but still very nice and the I figured that the 12 year waranty was worth it.
I am currently also considering buying the Embody, but am still unsure since I'm relatively tall (6'3) and like you stated the chair has no headrest. Was also thinking about buying the Aeron just because of the 3rd party headrest but if the Embody really also gets one I might just go ahead and buy that one.
I wish you luck (and patience) with the contractors and your office situation! It felt like ages while waiting for contractors to 1) get availability on the schedule to get me listed and 2) actually finish the project. I hope it goes well for you!
Nice video >:3 @Ahnestly -->but for the arm rest, if you want to change angle of them, pull them a bit to you to loosen the mechanism. If you push them they are stuck (so they can't move if you're are using them !) Clever.
You can buy these brand new for $1,000 (or less) easily. I called a few authorized dealers and got mine for $950 shipped. I would avoid to buy direct if possible.
That back knob isn't lumbar adjustment. I thought it was for the longest time. It's actually upper back tilt. You can see it in the video - the upper back is tensioning/untensioning significantly more than the lower back. It's real purpose is to ensure that your head is balanced and upright through all the tilt positions - this is why the Embody was designed without a headrest; their designers believed that with your head perfectly balanced and upright, there'd be no reason for one - costs more, but also impedes natural movement. I've had this chair for 12 years now... and I learnt that function after 11 years ago - the instances where I wanted a headrest went from say... 5% of the time... down to 2% of the time. A significant improvement!
Crazy to me some people spend 3k+ to upgrade their cars seat or have a moon roof they barely use but for chairs 1k is too much when you sit on it for 8+ hrs a day.
5:17 No it does that, but then you shift your butt back again, you're not supposed to sit like that. If you can't then it's a bad chair. My Monstertech flight chair does this just fine. Wish i had gone with the Embody instead though, and used desk mounts for my HOTAS
Very good Review. i got an Embody but you need to take time to customize and learn how to use it. of course you will need a very good desk to have best confort. Next one present your office!..greetings from Colombia
