I’m loving mine! It’s pretty easy to use, and it’s great having a lot of options in a compact format. I don’t modulation that often so this is nice to have for when I need it 😊
Thanks for the demo; I would have never thought of two Dimensions in parallel. I would have appreciated knowing what you were doing with the rest of your signal change; e.g., a camera view on your other pedals. But I know that video production isn't easy. I'm just starting out with my pedal board. I just sold my only mod pedal, a Boss AW-3. When the time comes to hopefully purchase it, I think the Synesthesia's filter should be as good as their Rossie.
Throwing in some John Mayer! Great tone on that jam man, I'm looking for a all-purpose mod pedal.. I was looking at the Mako M1, but now this thing in on the radar, thanks!
Thanks man! Yea I was looking at the M1 as well but this seems to have a few more sounds in it and the ability to run two different sounds independantly which I really like. It does cost a bit more though.
When you want to listen to a demo of a particular pedal the last thing I want to hear is that there are a bunch of other pedals and settings adding to the sound of the pedal we only came to hear. So basically not a real reflection of what this pedal will do for your particular setup at home.
Hi mate, thanks a lot for the demo, wonderful tones. One question I have, which may be completely stupid, is about the rotary simulator. My understanding is that it uses two separate algorithms one for the rotor speaker and one for the horn speaker. Does this mean you can't combine the leslie sim with another effect e.g. a phaser -> rotary?
Yea for the full rotary sound it uses two separate sounds the horn and drum. You can just use one of them with another effect like Horn + Phaser but to get the fully effect you have to use both.
The Octave algorithm on the Synesthesia has reverb built in. You can turn the mix down if you don't want it but in this case I was using that reverb. You could turn the mix down for the octave effect and just use it as reverb if you wanted. There is also an algorithm that has delay built in so you can use it for delay as well.
Another question… I have a Mooer octaver which I prefer to use before drive pedals. How do you do having your pedal after drives (for most modulations) when using the octaver in that position, after drives ? How does it sound to you?
I used a Micro POG for years and always had it before my drives. Since the Synesthesia has so many different sounds, and you can run it in stereo, that's why I decided to put it right before delay. I think the Synesthesia octave mode sounds good after drives. Someone had recommended I try that with POG but I never tried it because I was worried about it not tracking well. I think putting it after makes the effect little more pronounced but you can dial the mix to however you want. I haven't noticed any problems with tracking either.
I’ve tried the synesthesia before. It’s really good at what it does but I feel most multi-modulation pedals don’t completely nail the original sound or feel. I run individual modulation effects and swap them out if I’m wanting something different.
Dumb question. Patch A or Patch B can just be one effect, yea? Don’t have to be two? I will for sure combine say, envelope and flanger. But there are times where I want ONLY chorus or just octave. So I could have octave on A and chorus on B, correct? Then choose to have them both on and how they’re routed?
@@bt43ar Yes - the Slow Volume algorithm can be used as a standard delay. I used that a bit in some clips and in some clips in this video I used the JET Pedals Eternity for the more pronounced delay you hear.
Love your tone. How does the tones compare to the Strymon Iridium? Have you been able to compare them. I’m thinking of switching to a more realistic amp-like sound…
In this video I was using the Tonex pedal for my amp. I also own an Iridium and used that for a few years. They both sound really good but I prefer the features and all the settings you can tweak with the Tonex pedal.
