Unfortunately that's not what happened. Record labels own the catalogs so that the artist can't do anything with it to make money on their own bc then the label won't get their cut. That's why a lot of artists start their own label, or re-record their songs just a little bit differently (ie. Taylor Swift) so they can do what they want with their stuff. Also, this video is false, MJ didn't buy Em's catalog, he bought shares in a company that owned SOME of his songs (I think it was Apple but I'm not sure so don't quote me on that lol) so he didn't really go out of his way to "own Eminem's career" or whatever the AI thing said lol anywho, hope this helps, even if it's just a little

This was 3yrs after the so called diss and it was Sony buying Famous Music that owned the rights to Eminem's music (and a lot of other artists). MJ happened to have a 50% stake in Sony. Em had all rights back since 2016
