I went to the first and only ramen shop in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Dōto Ramen opened its doors this year to provide us with 5 flavors of ramen and more. With my friend Bianca, I try everything they offer on the menu to show you the Japanese cuisine that exists in Honduras.
The founders of Dōto Ramen (they are the same founders of Sushi 2 Go) traveled to Japan to train in the art of making ramen and learn from the chefs of Osaka. The ramen broth takes 18 hours to prepare, the noodles are homemade, the pork and eggs take hours to prepare, and even the chives are marinated with a special sauce. The attention to detail at Dōto Ramen is impressive.
How was ramen born in japan? Why do Japanese people slurp when they eat ramen? How can someone in Honduras learn the Japanese language? Let's explore the fun facts and flavors of Dōto Ramen together.
