Love this video! So much good info. ❤ As a window tint business owner (as well as a Model Y owner) I did want to comment on the window tint itself, for anyone looking to have it done in the future. Tesla does not recommend having the roof tinted as the type of glass used is different from that on the the rest of the car. The side and back windows come with a color tint from the factory, but that does not reject heat and UV. You can get the windshield tinted and there are window tint products on the market that provide good UV protection but don't add any darkness (80% and higher) . On our vehicle we used the lightest color tint all around so that we did not have issues with visibility, especially at night. One product I would recommend instead of tinting the roof is a mesh shield that reflex heat and sunlight really well and installs on the inside of the roof. It is something you can get from Amazon for less than $100 and works great! After this video I am definitely going to be seeking out some of these recommended products for my own car!
Thank you for all of this great info!!!!!!! I didn't know this about the ceiling tint. Is it not recommended because it damages the window? Or doesn't last? Just curious as to why it's not a good option!!!
@ErinRobinson OMG I cannot believe that I did not reply to this already. I am so sorry! 🤦🏼♀️ So Tesla as a manufacturer does not recommend that the window on the roof be tinted because it's a different type of glass then that of the back of the vehicle, windshield, and side windows. Basically the way that tint works is that it absorbs the heat and so they (Tesla) warn installers against the glass roof shattering from heat absorption. It's not a guarantee, but because it's a possibility and ethical tint shop should let customers know that it could happen. That being said, shops other than ours do do it and have had success, but a lot of shops don't want to take the liability if it does happen. ❤️
The laptop/drink tray is classic! I bought something like that that hooks on the steering wheel which is supposed to help me organize when I'm filming in the car...except I haven't filmed in my car since buying it. 😆🤣
you forgot the most important accessory to get if you have the model 3 or y, an aftermarket instrument cluster in front of the driver. if i get a model 3 or y that is the absolute must 1st thing to get. looking to the right to see my speed is not viable
Yeah no way it takes 45 seconds…the only thing I can think of (and that’s a stretch) if she has it in a deep purse with mad stuff inside interfering or something lol
This video is basically Erin telling people how to make a Tesla remotely bearable. The amount of cons (even just mentioned in this video) make me never want one… But, this is great content! Definitely watched the whole video and enjoyed!
@@ErinRobinson yeah you are right. I just got mine last month. I can see some of the drawbacks you mentioned but i feel they got better but not as other manufacturers.
u do know....there is 2 usb c ports inside ur center console right? cuz in your other vid...u seemed totally oblivious to that. There are also 2 button lights at the coat hangers in the rear -_-
I dont understand why some would get a keyfob instead of just ising your phone. I have the walk away function on so the car opens when i come close and locks when i go away so i just have to pull the handle and im in
I have been working professionally with children as a babysitter, nanny, and at daycares for the past 10 years and I always keep a small first aid kit in my purse because of it! You never know when you’re going to need it and when you need it, you really don’t wanna be without one! I definitely want to buy a more comprehensive first aid kit for my car though!
Enjoyed your video and you got several items which do seem necessary and work well. But, 2 items do not work at all after used: 1. the tire inflator. LR tire was 38 tesla warned might want to fill it up, so i set it up to inflate 4 psi. Got all done and started to drive. Immediately got warning LR tire was at 56psi way over inflated. That was just too easy to do, since no monitor of what the tire is when plugged, it is a no go. 2. the windshield sunshade...perfect fit, but after removing it a couple times, saw black streaks on headliner, then sun visor, then across ceiling glass like it was crayon, wow! Now we are cleaning it but it is not coming off all the way, very much regret ruined headliner 6 days after we bought car. I would remove that product immediately off list. 3. Also, this was not necessarily defect, but the underneath storage although a great idea, will damage the wiring and block the light in car at night. Product company wants you to put them in side ways which works, but also takes away all foot room for rear seating passengers.
I dont even drive lol let alone own a tesla but these were all super helpful! Hell, i got an uber the other day and it was a tesla and i didn't even know how to open the back door lmao 🤣🤣🤣. Love any and all content from our Erin so 👍. 🥰💖
A moving blanket is also good for another thing, seasonally: hail. Especially given the FREAKIN' GLASS ROOF!. If you encounter a hail storm while driving or one comes to you where you live and you don't have a garage or car port, open the windows about 2", put that blanket over the roof. Tuck ends into windows. roll up windows. wait it out. return to find your fully intact FREAKIN' GLASS ROOF. Honestly, that is the single aesthetic issue I have with the Y. Maybe a roof like the 3, but the ENTIRE ROOF? Living in central Texas where it has been 100+F for many weeks straight, I am not a fan.
Hi Erin - love your suggestions and have bought a couple of your recommended accessories. I'm curious where you stash your purse in the Model Y. I use a crossbody bag and can't seem to find a place to put it so it doesn't end up on the passenger floor. Any suggestions?
As far as I know Some places I don’t know if it’s all but in canada they don’t let you tint the front seat windows the police can give you a fine for having a tint to the front seat windows
Nice hand action and signalling there, Erin. Showing that you have full movement of your hands and fingers while wearing the gloves. I see what you're doing. 😉 New fashion trend, I say! 🧤

The hammock is a MUST have. Have you looked into dog car seats at all? I'm thinking I might want to do that but worried that it would hurt him in the event of an accident
Hi! Everything is liked here in my amazon store! www.amazon.com/shop/influencer-348a6f45/list/2U59QWHYYIM4C?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsflist_aipsfinfluencer-348a6f45_7KZ99GW5WCMS97XXMFXZ
Erin, thank you. You are my go to person for figuring out the right version of an item to buy and make it easy for me to know I can trust the items you recommend and test. P.S. I freaking love that you have a Tumbler Dupe instead of the basic influencer tumbler! Made me love this even more! P.S.S. You kind of are a rent to mom in that you guide us to make smart, informed decisions. Love you!
