When I was a kid, we used to fish Yankee Ditch, (FPL discharge canal) off SR 80 using a 1/4 oz slip sinker with a treble hook with 8 or 10 strands of red yarn on them and used to catch Snook after snook. Of course they fenced it off but man we used to have fun. Blue crabs on chicken necks there too.
That olive green is a killer, by my favorite color of all time. Some companies will discontinue that color for low sales, so be vigilant if you have a favorite.
Been scouring to find someone to help me get into shore saltwater fishing. Finally found this video. Awesome! Gonna go out tomorrow afternoon and see what I get.
Bro, get a 7" bubba shad with a Sakana matching jighead. Ghost minnow is unreal. It looks like a herring fattened with eggs. I bet you have a new favorite.
I moved to Florida (Tampa area) 6 months ago, and the red tide situation really has got me down. I hope you guys who have been here a long time are right and that it's going to get better.
I hear you loud and clear, totally bums me out too. Look for fish pushed back in the rivers. Go to this RU-vidr's place: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-93v6wRNYIyE.html
That big ol bucktail actually works?!?! Im not doubting ya at all cuz i know you know your stuff but id never think to use a big ol bucktail like that. Definitely gonna try that now. Thanks brotha really enjoy your channel. Real life knowledge that i can apply!!
Thank big sugar for making the red tide worse. Also where is the doa shrimp? That is the only lure i carry for inshore. Offshore i carry the xrap and some paddle tails. Although i will be honest. The life span of a paddle tail offshore is 1-3 fish. When a large king hits it, most likley it will be retired from service.
I meant "house". Rain and red tide are really pulling the creativity out of me right now. I'm trying to come up with ideas for videos and have been surprised at the results of my last three uploads. The one I made about the things I never buy for fishing is really taking off? RU-vid, so unpredictable, ha ha...
@@RadReelingFishing they are great videos brother...and you definitely have the personality for these kind of videos man...very informative and well put together
Hey JC, I hope you are right about the fishing here but unless we get a handle on the run off and storm drains red tide will not go away. The problem won't correct itself. Hey congratulations on your growth... you were at 5m back then and at 24M now.
I switch my trebles with circle hooks. I weigh the treble and match the weight replacement in circle. Especially for snook. The treble hooks tare them up to much.
It's 2020 and another year and well have speckled Trout, Reds back on the list, at least that's my wish. Hey JC... going out tomorrow before dawn on the Gulf in Naples. Will be stuck on the beach so I'm looking for pointers before I hit the sand. Hoping for some Whiting and some pomps or Mackerel. thanks JC. Loading them into my box now. Going light tomorrow. Will be using light tackle. 7' rod and 2500 Reel. 1 rod only, 1 small box Have fun.
Yes I've caught a lot of specks and red black drum with the gold Rapala another good one is if you find it copper spoons oh red paddle with white tails
Hey I’m about to go fishing around crystal river not to found of the area I hope fishing is good from the 11th - the 16 of this month I hope to try out salt water fishing around the gulf so this video is absolutely fantastic I’m use to freash water fishing as well
prime fishing here in Pensacola. you should connect with yak motley and 30milesout youtubers. I hope to be a fellow youtube angler soon too! thanks for your videos!
Rad Reeling Fishing I know you didn’t coin it and I know Florida is world class fishing. 1000 lb hammers from a beach? Sign me up! I just said cause it popped up and I thought it was a bit funny
Since the Red Tide has messed up the Gulf, make a trip over to the Atlantic and fish Ponce Inlet with me. The mullet run has started. Bull Red's and Jack's are biting.
Thanks for the invitation. I'm saving my money right now for the next trip to the other coast. My two trips to fish with Jettie Rocks Mike D. were expensive.
Idk why they even make some of these lures in like watermelon colors. (I literally have a spoon that has lime green edges and a pink interior with seeds painted on. I don’t know how I ended up with it and don’t get me wrong, it sometimes works, but not as well as the true to life spoons.)
I live right in the same area as you. Been only fresh water fishing. Its bad I've lived here my whole life an never seen it this bad. Congrats on the 5k
Thanks for the congratulations! Oh yeah, it's going to take some time for things to come back from this one...Hopefully this stuff will move out and some of the migratory fish will move in, like the winter Sheepshead.
I'm not sure if they are available down there, I'm in the New Smyrna Beach area, but give Slayer Inc. paddle tails a try. They are made in Jacksonville. I usually rig them on an owner 1/8, 1/16 oz weighted hook. Mosquito lagoon/ Indian River/ Merritt Island. I enjoy your vids, thanks!
Thanks for watching. Interesting, I looked at them on their website. What's the difference in other paddle tails. Do you have a connection there? If so tell them to send me some. contact: radreelingfishing@gmail
Excellent idea. I'll have to reach out to them sometime. There's so much rain right now it's hard to plan something...I'm pretty busy with my music schedule too. Soon, I'll get connected with some fishing friends north of me. Thanks.
Let me know if you want to do something somewhere between the areas of Clearwater and Tarpon Springs man! Been actually catching some huge flounder and damn decent snook recently.
Great idea. I'm going to head that way when the rain stops pounding us and my music work slows down a bit. I've been thinking about hitting the John's Pass area again.
Thanks for the suggestion Matthew. I'm working on saving a few dollars right now. Those two trips to the east coast to fish with Jettie Rocks were expensive.
Thanks for watching. You are mistaken in what you've said. I said I don't like when RU-vidrs talk about lures that catch fish and then they don't have any videos to back up their claims. I linked a bunch of videos in this one proving that I catch fish on these lures. Thanks for commenting.
Fresh or Saltwater? From a boat or from shore? I've never fished the area, but I'd say you should always structure or where the bait fish are at. I believe fishing is about getting out there and finding the fish instead of asking someone to tell us where the best fishing spots are.
@@RadReelingFishing saltwater from shore. I will travel to Miami in August so I'm looking for the best fishing place. If you know any name of the place, plz tell me😆
Ha ha...me too man. I was going to travel this afternoon about an hour or so to try a beach, but the stinking thunder storms were all over the radar. Maybe tomorrow I can head up south to try and get on some snook! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing Jared. Can you fish a Mirrodine really fast or is it more of a slow to medium twitch bait. I saw Lawson Lindsy fishing one the other day and all I could think was if he was ripping that lure past those snook he was seeing that they would have devoured it. Instead he was slowly twitching the Mirrodine in front of the snook and they were not hitting it.
@@RadReelingFishing the way I fish it depends on how the fish are acting or if I see them. I usually fish it just like a lipped jerkbait, and the fall of it pretty awesome too.
Rad Reeling Fishing if you want the speed for the reaction bite and some extra depth ability go with the Mirrolure TT 18 which is a slow sinking hard jerkbait in olive and silver with black speckles I’ve been using this in Chokoloskee for years with great success it can be twitched very fast and also can get down a few feet at deep mangrove cuts with moving tide
