They actually explained in the books, the reason vampires are so few is that most end up self deleting because they can't stand the psychological stress of immortality.
Yes and in the lady of the damned (the title is smth similar) it's also mentioned how many were irradiated bc one of the oldest vampires almost died or smth
@@honeybee2087yeah there is a whole generation of Vampires who are old and decrepit and have charred skin because the oldest vampire, whom all other vampires are connected to, walked into the sun for a couple of seconds😂 poor guys
@@Anakin_Skywalker01 Those Who Must Be Kept were put into the sun by one of the priests who maintained their shrine (as they had become like statues). The sun darkened their skin but all other vampires either died (young in the blood) or sustained horrific burns (more ancient vampires).
You ain't ALONE! If I was Louis, after Lestat had told me that & touched me with that lil' finger of his, I would dropped my draws 🩲💦 right THEN and THERE & we would have been having a scene like he & Armand didn't in the theatre 🎭 balcony in season 2 😆!
@@Lathi523well hold on…because remember: we are not getting Louis and Armand’s pov and we have already seen two examples of how the story is different bc it’s been told by Louis with Claudia’s change and the fight. I’m thinking there is most definitely more to the story
@@Dr3amChas3r02There is. In the books, Louis is only really the narrator/main character in the first one. After that, Lestat is the main character of the series. Book 2 is called The Vampire Lestat. Lestat awakens after burying himself in the ground for decades to the sound of a rock band called Satan's Night Out. He learns of Louis book, Interview with a Vampire, and reads it quickly. Pissed that Louis published this, Lestat decides to write his own story, though it mostly glosses over his time with Louis saying most of it was correct with some notable exceptions. In the book, Armand and Louis are part ways before the start of the interview, though he is later himself interviewed in The Vampire Armand.
(HUGE S2 SPOILERS!!) I agree. That being said, though, all the way through to last 15 minutes or so of the s2 finale what we see of Lestat is Louis' memory of him. We get glimpses of hid character, like his apology during the trial, when he talks to Armand in SanFran after Louis' accident, and when the two are reunited in the finale that are almost jarringly sweet. Lestat really cares about Louis, even going so far as to save hum at the trial and not telling Louis it was him and not Armand, and the next 70 or so years of Louis and Armand's relationship was built on a lie that Armand went to ridiculous lengths to preserve. I think that's the true difference between them, really. Lestat manipulated Louis because he wanted a companion, and Armand did the same, but Armand was insecure while it seemed like Lestat actually cared for Louis and wanted the best for him
The vampire population has a core weakness: too many in one area and humans start noticing the disappearances and corpses piling up. For this reason vampires tended to disperse widely to maintain their secrecy, beyond the reach of any governing authority. The Theatre of the Vampires in Paris hosted a coven of twenty, which was considered manageable for a large European city at the time. Usually strong covens and older lone vampires are fiercely territorial; when Armand claimed New Orleans in the late Twentieth Century his first order of business was to attack and destroy any younger vampire he could find within the city limits. According to Lestat (who presumably got his information during the events of Queen of the Damned) there were never any more than a few hundred vampires on Earth prior to Akasha decimating the population down to a single coven of about a dozen.
This little clip has me in my feelings. 🥺🥰😫The music, their voices, the cinematography, their acting, the "touch". ❤️🔥 PLEASE inject this show in my veins forever!
The actor who plays Louie does really well with these stories of passion. I loved his love story in GOT & I loved his toxic s55 relationship in Interview With the Vampire ❤❤❤
That loving look he gives Louis right before he says. “…a hundred and one.” Then ever so sweetly, he strokes his hand…like a calming reassurance of how much love he has for him. Magnifique…🩸❤️🩸♥️
YES! 🧛🏼: "You swam across the Mississippi 🏞️to find me?" 🧛🏽♂️: "Swim 🏊🏽♂️a lot faster than I drive!!'" Ba-BAY 💥👏🏽! When Louis said THAT ---- I KNEW they was bout 2 tear that 🛏️ room UP!!
There used to be thousands of vampires until the previous "keeper of those who must be kept" left Akasha and her husband out in the sun to die. Akasha and hubby just got a bit of a tan but since ALL other vamps come from their blood and are linked to them.... It was a SLAUGHTER. A few of the oldest only got "tans" like them, but most died and those that didn't were turned into horribly burned nightmare creatures whose burns seemed to last centuries. It was pretty horrible. It's why Marius guarded them so feircly.
I'm not a huge fan of this show, due to all the changes they made to the story, but I will say that Sam Reid is 10,000 times the Lestat that Tom Cruise ever was. I wish he had been old enough to have starred in the 1994 movie.
Sam is without a doubt the best lestat but he seems more like a television actor. I'm not sure if he could have captured the screen in a hour and a half long movie the way that Tom does. Just my opinion..
Tom Cruise is a good actor and Stuart Townsend is good, too. They did an ok job of playing Lestat. Neither of them hold a candle to Same Reid's take on Lestat.
Broo… I thought twilight was the best then I watched vampire diaries on repeat for a year and thought I’d never find a better vampire show… BUT THIS SHIT HAS ME CAPTIVATED I STARTED YESTERDAY AND IM ADDICTED 😭🙏🏽
I know Lestat was the worst red flag and hot headed/temper not so good with word's I have ever seen. but from he story of his Maker you can tell why he turned out the way he's The Manipulate ones should be Armond and Claudia oh my gosh that's kid is good at manipulative Louis.which was one thing Lestat never liked about her 😂so I hope to see Lestat and Louis back together again I love they arguments their both Love's each other but really good/capable of hurting each others I hope I get to know in season 3 why Armond did what he did with Louis and Claudia at the trial.was it because he wanted Louis to hate Lestat or he still loves lestat.you know like if I can't have him you can't have him too something like🤷 Because everything about Armond as been lie's like taking the credits at the trial for saving Louis and he wanted him dead at the trial😢 and refusing to tell Louis when Lestat told him to tell Louis that's he loves him when he got burnt by sun in Paris Honestly I have a lot of questions about Armond and Lestat relationship in the past l believe there's more to it because I know he has a lot of secret....
They both are from different universe in this universe akasha quenn of vampires created them and lestat has her blood / in originals klaus was created and his siblings were created by curse /
I haven't watched this show out of fear it will suck... i was so excited when i heard but then.... they made Louis, a slave owner, black. Guess it would work from a historical point of view in Louisiana. They could have done blackwood farm. Outstanding story with lots of black characters.
Bailey Bass nails a similar style of Claudia perfectly which she deserves an award for aswell as Sam Reid who needs to read the audio book of The Vampire Lestat, I wasn't disappointed that much is true 💯
Why is he a failure according to you? Please elaborate because apparently there is something bothering you about him, the character, or him, the actor. 🤔😐
Lestat was my first literary love,Anne wrote him with such feeling and I am happy to see him on the screen but oh am I looking forward to seeing from his perspective because Louis definitely had a skewed one in interview. I adore the show, understand his pain more, but it has to be leading into TVL and QOTD storylines!
In the first book I loved them both and was heartbroken by Louis' actions. I understood Lestat was toxic, but by the second and third books I was like "Yo, Louis is a little B". Lol😂 I fell hopelessly in love with Lestat. That was in high school. I'm going to reread the books now that I'm an adult to see if my perspective changes.
@@violetembers2532 exactly! Lestat is domineering, hot tempered and a bit of an arse with a huge ego *but* Louis does love him enduringly. Were it not for Claudia deciding to kill Lestat rather than the two of them just leave him I daresay Louis wouldn't have had the stones to do it himself or even the notion of doing it. Can't wait for season 2 of the show,so excited
The show kind of mixed Interview and The Vampire Lestat together. In the first book we don't really get much, if any, backstory on Lestat. Season 2 made several hints that they are doing Queen of the Damned with "those who must be kept" and "I'm going on tour."
