Hanging your clothes to dry is so underrated! My whole childhood; we’d have clothes outside on the line. That fresh airy smell the sun and wind gives is EVERYTHING! I loved watching this! 😊
@marquepoolejewer9427 I am cheating. I airdry indoor. If you airdry outside you need to bring inside when clothes a just damp. Completely drying even in the dryer clothes get harder. Yes, they very hard in elements. I air dry the spandex, husband's work shirts, t-shirts with graffics/iron-on, and delicates (lingerie). By airdrying I mean to hang air. I do use the dryer for socks, towels, jeans, sweats, and blankets, the heavier.
Yep and you can still throw them in the dryer for 5-10 minutes after the are dried off of the line just to soften them up a bit. Sometimes the clothes get stiff even with fabric softener.
*The best thing is the clothing rack. Seriously, foldable one what a dream to have outside and get the amazing breeze blowing through them, nothing better than air drying the clothes.*
Best way to get rid of berry stains is to just pour hot (boiling) water on the stain. It disappears in seconds! No chemicals or rubbing or soaking needed. You can even dunk the stain in boiling hot water, but I usually place the stain on top of a bowl and pour from the kettle. Best trick I ever learned!! Edit: Be careful with the hot water, though, so you don’t burn yourself! If you have a more delicate fabric, you might want to test it on a small corner first so you don’t ruin it. But I haven’t had any issues yet, and I use it a lot. For more delicate garments, I’ve even used a separate cloth dipped in the hot water to gently remove the stain. Not as quick and easy, but it’s worked. But again, mind your fingers!
It’s easier to let the clothes soak in the machine. I never have to pretreat any stains of my 4 kids and their clothes can get super dirty. I have a soak and stain function on my washing machine too and rarely use it. You just need a really good detergent.
@@mrs.ontiveros476you are wrong. She dries the washed clothes, and she puts the clothes to the washing machine after they are soaked. The drying part is after the washer. She just put the clips in confusing order.
You don't need to spend a lot of money on drying racks for the wall. You can simply hang your clothes up on hangers and hang them up somewhere in your home where they can dry such as the shower or the basement. I've been air drying my clothes for over 20 years and have never owned an air drying rack. The benefit of having them on hangers is once they are dry you just need to stick them in the closet and go
Just cheap af 😅😅 Plus apart from very big and heavy things likevtowels and bedsheets.. there are clothes that can't or shouldn't be on a hanger let alone when wet lol 😅😅😅 you must look all wonky walking around w uneven pinched clothes.
This is what I do. I have a flat drying mesh rack for sweaters, which I hardly ever use cause I rarely wear sweaters (hot natured). Sheets and blankets can be hung outside on a line on sunny days. However, I do have a dryer for towels and sheets.
My mom used to call it "marinating the clothes" because when we were children we played outside a lot. The clothes became like door mat, soooooo dirty😂😂😂 It was my job to marinated them, i didn't realise she make it so much fun like a game lol. Ah and also air drying for clothes longevity😊😊 Thanks for bringing back my childhood memories
If you have a new, nice item and it gets a stain on the first or second wear, don't you try to get the stain out? And old items for wearing at home, that have stains, were once new, too. Of course, with time, they wear down. Maybe it's more about how long have you had something, to determine if it's worth the work to try and remove the stain. 😊
I've used one part borax /one part hydrogen peroxide and one part Dawn dish soap,on all sorts of stains but I wouldn't brush the fabric I would just put the paste on the stain on both sides of the fabric and let it dry and then throw it in the wash. Worked really well!
So true, kids especially, but even for adults! It's a must for my white clothes. And it helps to remove bad/heavy odor too. I used to wash clothes as a side hustle when I was a teenager and I have this routine of soaking clothes, having a hand-wash and hanging some items that are not meant for the dryer.
I make laundry every day instead of taking a laundry day. That makes it a smooth proces. At the end I need less clothes, Save money and have free day almost every Saturday
Love it to see someone actually scrubbing the stains away and not just expecting the laundry soap to do all the work. Machines help a lot, but they're not THAT good. Also loving your hanging racks ❤️✨
They ARE that good and you don't have to scrub your fabrics raw unless they are full of difficult stains that were left for a long time. Berries. Grass. And it's the DETERGENTS/lemon juice/vinegar etc.
In tropical Malaysia...ours is drying laundry under the hot sun. Except for those in condos and apartments because hanging laundry is banned, sun drying is still the best
In Europe we dont use dryers much. Its bad for your clothes. If you look at your clothing labels, it almost says on every item : do not tumble dry. So these drying racks that you have are absolute gorggg. 😍
I know dryers aren’t as common in Europe. I sent clothes out and it took a week for much needed sweat shirts to dry in damp weather in Rome😬 Air drying might be great but seems odd to just not have the convenience of a dryer when in a hurry. Please help us understand why you don’t have them. Are they super pricey over there? Is it an environmental concern? No judgment just curious
@@miriamalonso3959 great question haha! No uhm its just not common because of this: • a lot of countries in Europe have communal lifestyles and also smaller homes compared to America • Europeans are way more frugal then Americans but also have a lot of money because of that. And like to spend money on thinks that last a life time. A dryer does nog fit this picture at all. It cost more money. • In Europe the people are more old school. They know that clothes last a life time when drying clothes on a hanger outside and inside the house. • Europeans are more about the environmental because again, they are more old school. Its the same with foods. We have special laws here that protect us from eating foods with lots of trans fats, stabilizers and artificial flavors and colors. Its the same with dryers. Dryers are actually fake drying in contrast to drying outside with real wind. Its the standard here. Hope this helps 😂☺️🩷
Put a piece of plastic or a bath mat under your drying rack to catch the drips. Put white vinegar in your rinse water to cut the stink. *Wipe your washer dry and leave the door open.
The white clothes can be layer in the sun and bleach out the stains. If you can hangen all outside, the smell is amazing and you bring something in to a family tradition no others have.
Air drying is really all we did as kids. A friend of mine moved to London & told me they really dont use dryers there. Clothes last longer, If a stain doesn't come out-it's not set in, saves $, a lot of positives tbh
Sooooo many gizmos and gadgets!! How can you afford them all??? Good old fashioned sunshine and fresh air for me to dry my clothes. Both are free! I have a lemon tree and use lemon juice for clothes stains - also free!
No thanks. I am not spending a good part of my day rubbing stains with my bare hands and weight-lifting heavy buckets of water and dirty clothes. In my house clothes just go in the washing machine and come out the way they come out. Stains still there? Okay then. Kids will grow out of them in a month anyway. Don't waste your time.
I had 4 young kids and never had to do all this 😆 I had a bottle of spray n wash a simple white washing machine with a clothes rack above it and extra hangers. This looks expensive and a lot of unnecessary extra work for this mom.
This is so unreal. It's not like that in real life. Everything is as clean and sterile as in a shop window. This is the world of artificial intelligence that manipulates people and makes them feel worse.
What do you soak the kids clothes in? Was it laundry detergent and baking soda? Do you hang dry the clothes so the stains don’t set in? Love to know more!
"Hang dry clothes so the stains dont set it"? 😮😮 what planet is that from?? Never heard of drying clothes natural way without the dryer that ruins your clothes, cost money, is loud and bulky??
I neeeeded this soooo bad because I just can’t get the tough stains out! I just want to ask for how long do you soak them and after how many days maximum do you suggest to wash the clothes before the stains really don’t come out anymore? Thank you so much in advance 🙏🏼
Actually the earliest you clean up the stains the faster they will go. But it is not always possible to clean up stains when you are out and about. So some stains like blood and a few other stains come out with a few dabs of hydrogen peroxide. I have found gents regular shaving cream (not foam) works magic on dirty collars and a couple of other stains. Some greasy stains come away with a little dab of dish washing liquid soap. And some stains like henna and turmeric stay on clothes till the end of time. 😅😅 Also dry cleaning helps a lot when some colors have run onto your white shirt. Hope this helps. 😊
Amazing old fashioned resilience. I applaud you. What helps more is having family support and a husband that understands, provides for you. The government has made it harder for 1-parent working whilst another raise the children.
