You nailed it again Dr. Berg. My wife and I were having difficulty getting to sleep and staying asleep. I suggested to her that we turn off all of our electronics 2 maybe 3 hours before bedtime. Now both of us get to sleep faster and stay asleep until our dogs start crying to go outside in the morning. We can't fix the world. And on that note, I don't think the world is as broken as they say.

I'm moving to the Philippines in a couple of months but if I do not like it I'm going out west and Montana is the first place I'm going to try.. you got the right idea for living a long happy and healthy life.. hello from south Louisiana..,🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊when the hurricanes get in the Gulf it is very stressful and not because of the wind but because of the power outage that it's going to cause if it hits where you live.. I plan on being in the Philippines this next hurricane season.. I will be living in a house on the ocean with Crystal clear Blue Waters and white sand beach as my front yard and rainforest mountains as my backyard. I can walk 15 yards to the crystal clear lagoon in my front yard and spear some fish for lunch and my Filipino companion / fiance/future wife will clean them and cook them.. now that is what I call de-stressing. We also live walking distance to a fresh vegetable fruit and seafood market.👍👍👌😎🤗

Hi Doc! I've been watching (and learning from) you for years! One of the best pieces of advice you gave, which I share with everyone, is your advice on lowering cortisol. Long story short, I was suffering from irrational stress. I would worry about stupid things like volcanos erupting or meteors falling from the sky. The most tangible fear was a new fear of driving on the highway. I've driven literally millions of miles in my career in agriculture as well as an active reservist (USAF) commuting hours one-way several times a week. My "irrational worry and stress" manifested itself at highway speeds in my little Saturn View. I worried that I would slip off the road and crash. AMAZING! I watched one of your videos back in 2017 or 18, where you suggested vitamin C as a cortisol reducer. I bought the most organic and high-end C I could find. I took 1,000 mg for a few days and drove from Tucson to Sadona - terrified the whole time that I was about to spin out and crash our car. So on a whim, I bumped the dosage up to 3,000mg and what happened next was the on of the most profound experiences in my life. While driving on the highway, just south of Flagstaff, the worry, fear, dread, and stress just lifted. I relaxed in my seat and took one hand off the wheel, on a slight left turn at 70MPH. Incredible! It worked and I've wanted to thank you since. I share this with anyone who will listen and I tell them my RU-vid Doctor cured my worry and dread with vitamin C!! p.s. I don't buy the expensive stuff anymore, Kirkland's is fine and I don't have to take it (3gr) every day either... but I can tell when I need to, and when I do, the stress is relieved and the dread subsides. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing your experiences. It made me chuckle (in kinship!) about the vehicle going off the road. I totally relate! ☺️I don't like high speeds or bridges, and I'm always feeling that somehow my car is just going to...I dunno... defy the laws of physics LOL. Thanks to Dr. Berg and his video on vitamin B1, for me that has been a life-changer! When I can feel myself getting stressed or wound-up, I pop one of those and next thing I know I'm back to normal, it happens so fast!!

@@DaveCooksBiz i got my results from my hormonetest today and tada, my cortisol is higher than the highest allowed normal value. Even though it was measured at a day when nothing had happened to stress me out. I have cravings, i feel depressed, stressd and irritable.I´ve withdrawn from family, from friends from everybody..all of them stressed me out. Sure, there are stressors in my life from which i can´t ru away. I also do go out a lot in nature ad take long walks with my dog. But if something bad happens somtimes i can´t find the energy to go out. Also my TSH is higher than it should be (may be hypothyroidism). My calcium is also low, maybe because cortisol took away the glucose from the muscle and therefore the joints needed to carry more weight which meant that they needed more calcium to try to prevent from rub off. And all you did to lower the cortisol was taking Vit c? Really this helps that much? How much would i have to take? My cortisol is at 226 and the maximum if i remember right is at 195. So its higher, and it was measure at a day when nothing had happened. 121,25 pound. Taking even 1000mg is a lot for the stomach 🙂

That's a great video Dr. Berg. It was so peaceful in the 80s when media was only newspaper and 1 tv channel. Anything very important was conveyed in society but overall news were not being thrown 24 hours. People were generally enjoying their lives and listening to music. With advent of media channels and wireless internet, everybody is aware and thoughtful. What you said is totally true. When there is no imminent problem, over thinking is not required. We should work only at important issues. We should count our blessings. God Bless you.

I haven't watched the news for decades, I saw a long time ago that they just whip people up into a fearful state. I dip into the headlines when I feel I can cope with it and my dad gives me the highlights when I see him! I've just had a few days off work, work I enjoy with people I like, but it's still stressful. I have so enjoyed the few days off I've spent with my cat and my cat has loved having my undivided attention. I've actually managed to relax during these few days, which has been a relief. And all I've done is potter around the house, visit my parents, binge some TV, do a few chores. Nothing special. But sometimes we just need to stop and get off the hamster wheel for a while.

Gardening was an ultimate game changer for me! It is the single best thing any of us can do to address, literally, all of the world's current problems! Gardening lowers stress, provides exercise, improves mental health, beautifies communities, helps the environment, is a source of healthy/real food, and provides abundance to local economies.

I lost my husband in 2021 to covid. It was unexpected and extremely traumatic. I had fight or flight and extreme stress. It affected every part of my being. It has taken me a year-and-a-half to get back to 80%. I lost weight my digestion was terrible no sleep, night terrors. I have learned a lot and have great advice on how to get past traumatic grief. I have a good faith, and know I will see my husband again one day.

@@IWearACrownsurround yourself with pets. Connect more with your family. A lot of people won’t have the patience to hear what you go through everyday. But that is not necessarily the case with family members. Having two or more cats would really help you. Closing yourself in a room when things are upside down would just make you feel a lot more depressed. It is better to sit outside and see people doing their daily activities. Finally exercise a lot to beat your stress and eat healthy. With time things would get better as time is the best healer
