Man, they were way too rough with the poor kitty at the beginning. That kitty was pretty chill compared to normal cats who will constantly be in attack mode with strangers.
If you look at the lady's hand that cat seems to have already got her... As a cat owner i can tell you that it can be really dangerous to get a cat out of a place it doesn't want to come out. What i found strange is that they didn't wear protection gloves.
For those who come here to just find faults in everything, with their sick hearts, judging the vets who have been working day and night, taking care of the animals, grow up or just stay quiet. Sick hearted people- Wa A'udhubillah. Keep up with the good work. Best regards from Türkiye

@@cestmoi1987 I agree he's bad vibes. He was rough when giving that injection, grabbing him by the scuff he just injected to give him the tablet, deciding for the owner to hold hi, and then threw his head forward when he'd finished. He is horrible.
I am professional cat groomer and former vet tech for over 20 years. The cat was sweet and not aggressive at all. They had the worst handling skills I have ever seen! I don’t know what’s worse the way they took him out of the carrier or the way he handled giving him a shot or even using forceps for giving pills he could have cut inside his throat. Major major retraining is needed with these people!
Did you read the guys bio? He’s actually helping these animals. He lives in Palestine. Which isn’t a rich country and he takes stray animals and animals that need help and provides them treatment using his OWN money. Again if you read his bio you will see that he wrote Palestine has no laws that protects animals. If this is a stray cat they probably try to do this as quickly to reduce stress on the animal. As a vet you are the enemy of almost every animal. You literally give them shots which are painful and etc and they associate pain with the vet and person. Why do you think they hate going to the vet? It’s hard to hold a pill while also trying to force a pill down an animals throat. You think if they have a cat bleeding out on their table and it’s losing a lot of blood there gonna wait for the cat to get comfortable before they stick an IV in it? Not to mention I’m sure they dealing with limited supplies so if they end up dropping the pill and loosing it they just wasted a pill that the doctor used with his OWN money to buy.
@@teodora2979 Yeah, we get it. Palestine = sh!t. Don't need to be so wordy. Taking care of your surrounding is a basic human concept. Doesn't need to merit page long essay. lol
@@igotthefeelsformomo you underestimated cats. The cat slides freely from the start and they handled it naturally (no muscles/bone hurt) only the needle. Compare this to street cats who fights and stressed everyday - - - its nothing 😂
I adopted a cat 2yrs ago and he has an extremely loud purr and loves anyone. When I took him to the Vet last year he just kept on purring and rubbing up against the Vet and head booping her. The Vet took him in the back to draw some blood and brought him back in. Then she brought him back in, still purring like he always does. This year, as soon as she entered the exam room and looked at his name on the chart, she remembered his purrs and as soon as I took him out of the carrier (he's not a fan of the carrier) he immediately started his purring again and the Vet said he's been her favorite kitty she's ever dealt with and that the staff liked him too. The only downside to his purring is that he snores just as loud.😂. When I got him from the shelter, they told me he'd been returned once because he was "too loud and too needy". Yeah, I gotta turn the TV up some if he's purring or snoring, but his loving nature for everyone makes up for it. ❤
I'm a fellow vet from the UK. I know sometimes cats don't want to come out of their carriers but please do not grab at them and try to shake them out of their carriers, he is very scared and forcing him will only make future vets visits even scarier, instead try to lure the cat out with treats and let them leave the carrier on their own terms. The carrier is where he feels safe, at my clinic we take the lid off of the carrier and let the cat stay led down in the bottom of the carrier for comfort.
Ty for the comments, everyone who say he is very rough (and maybe even visit the vet often) get dismissed bc "You're not a vet duh", when everybody can tell he is an unexpectedly rude vet (almost looks like he doesn't care about animals' wellbeing)
Maybe this is not the only patient in his clinic and others are waiting for their turn. You might have only one patient in a whole day that's why you have enough time to wait for a cat to come out.
@@hassanchaudary7406 Actually my clinic can see up to 20+ cats in one day, along with other animals, but we make sure we treat every one of them with respect and give them the time that they deserve! Your point is mute!

@showmevids1984 I see what you're saying, but I've been to about five different vets, either with my grandma for her dogs, or after I grew up with my own dogs and cats. None of them treated our animals like the man did of this animal in the video.

I guess she didn’t know those gray claps are designed to access the pet removing the upper half of the carrier, therefore avoiding not push or dump out the animal.
Theres no reason to be so rough with a docile, gentle cat. I bet he wouldn't have scratched at all if he was treated better. I work at an animal shelter we never treat our animals like this. Were always patient and gentle even when theyre not.
Well not all vets have time to wait out until an animal “gets comfortable”, judging by his channel, he does free of charge and saves stray animals. If you ever worked with cats, you’d know they can be unpredictable, holding by the scruff for example is so the vet can SAFELY inject the needle and give the pill, if the cat weren’t being held by the scruff, the cat could’ve clawed the vets arms and the tool could’ve punctured the cats, is that would you’d rather happen? huh? an injury to occur?
You can take off the top of the box by unscrewing the screws. There’s like 4 to 8 of them depending on the box. It avoids having to invert the box as if you’re trying to take out the last cookie in the box, and much nicer for the animal 😊

@@niovistefanatou3266 I re-watched the video to make sure but my opinion did not change Firstly if you notice the sides of the cage there are screws so I do not think it is easy to open it In addition he did not fall or anything like that and he's not a kitten even if he fell from such a short distance it would not be harmed. Secondly, it is natural to hold the neck tightly because the cat had previously received the injection he is more cautious and tried to get away It is necessary to hold it firmly so that it does not try to escape and hurt itself in the process. thirdly, I do not think that he carried the cat on the table to harm it because he did not hold him in a painful way at all It is normal to hold cats this way and he will not be harmed properly he just wanted to see his size and the length of his torso I assure you that people have no experience with how a vets should deal with animals they do not own them or knowing for these animals and they may behave in a very chaotic

I wouldn't have to do anything. My cat can be an A-hole 😭 She's skittish and well-behaved at the vet, but definitely makes it known if she really doesn't like someone. But thankfully, she's fairly patient.
@@Sniperboy5551honestly no. This dragging the cat out of the cage thing, not exactly a good method. They could just open the cage up and be more gentle especially when the cat is gentle enough. I've seen so many different vets handle cats even the neurotic ones and they handle it with so much love. You can hear the love and calm from their voice to the way they handle the cat. This to me is ptsd inducing.
Yeah icecold handling of the cat here, how hard is it to tilt the box gently and let the cat out. Unnecessary dominant behaviour from the vet here. 😢 My vet shows a lot more empathy.
I imagine they're more focused on getting the animals in and out. Ten bucks says their waiting room was close to full if not completely full. Of course, there's no telling for sure and I'm no expert. Guess we'll never know. Oh well.

@@-R.E.D.A.C.T.E.D-Perhaps because all cats do not act the same? You can't treat a calm cat, scared cat and an angry cat the same way. It doesn't work that way at all. Where's your medical degree?
That cat is so sweet and they handled him so roughly! I worked as a vet tech and Ive never seen a cat handled so roughly from the the start by a medical professional. They need retraining or smthg. Edit: To all the people saying cats are tough and don't get injured easily, I wasn't addressing the cat getting injured- tho I wouldn't be surprised if that happened more frequently than it should at this vet. I was discussing the vet stressing the cat out for no reason. As someone who deals with cats like this daily, it's hard enough for their owners to get cats to the vet office without overly stressing them out (which many times accidents in the car happen when you have a stressed out cat.) As vet techs, we try to handle the cat as gently, quickly, and efficiently as possible to not cause them to panic like what happened here. They didn't even need to take the cat out of it's carrier. In this situation, you'd remove the top of the carrier, have one vet hold the cat still- by the scruff and sometimes with a towel, and have the other give the injections. Imagine being handled like in the video every time you went to the doctor. You'd probably vomit and deficate from stress in the car and at the office as well. Do better.
The only part that was actually rough was the random sliding across the table that didn't really affect the cat in any way it's in hurt the cat it's just a weird thing to do since you could just lift the cat up by the scruff but after that everything they did was completely fine
@@doriankamanzi6874the whole thing was unnecessarily rough. You also never lift adult cats by the scruff without holding their body too, it hurts them. The cat was scared but very calm and not agressive until they kept being rough with it and ir started scratching. You can also juat work with the owner to keep the cat calmer. They are basically turning a very docile cat into one that will get more defensive every time it goes to the vet due to how they handle it.
Naw my dudes. Op is right. That was unnecessarily rough. Grabbing at him inside the carrier, shaking him out, that yank back of his head, scruffing the way he did, and whatever that was at the end right before the cat finally scratched him. Sure, it was standard procedure, but it was still more rough than it had to be. My family and I would never go to that vet if we saw them treating our pet like this. The vet I always went to had good, kind, gentle, competent workers. When my hedgie had to go in for surgery, the surgeon reached for the carrier slowly and carefully almost as if he didn’t want *me* to get aggressive toward him for going after my baby.
Oh no they picked it up on the pace and it's supposed to be picked up from it's almost like that's what the scruff is for picking up the cat and moving them around they were not rough with it that's how you hold a cat it's the easiest and the best way the cat isn't hurt in anyway and the guy is not either 🤦

For anyone wanting tips for gentler handling in this situation: drop a towel on him from above and scoop him out from the top entrance, supporting his whole body and tucking him close to you. Using a towel to wrap them let’s you keep the pointy bits contained and makes the cat feel contained and comfortable. Scruffing is generally best reserved for emergencies (ie: cat trying to bite your assistant) or procedures that they need to be very still for, such as blood draws. Treats can help with some cats, but most cats don’t eat when they’re stressed. Cats prefer to have stable ground beneath them, so press down to restrain as opposed to lifting them in the air. The Vancouver Vet has a lot of great tips on cat handling, so check him out if you want to learn more!
Of all the cat videos I've seen of cats at the vet being pissed off, this cat was very relaxed and didn't hiss or growl once. They could've handled that cat a lot better than what they did. What awful way to treat a cat that wasn't giving them hard time.
What a way to injure a cat. Don't ever stick a metal hemastat into its mouth. There are special tools for that, they have soft rubber tips. Available in pet stores.
After watching this, I yet again felt grateful for the veterinary care in Turkey. Just watch how Turkish vets are treating the animals on RU-vid and you’ll clearly see the difference.

Whoever was giving him the shot has no concept of how to handle an animal especially one that wasn’t giving him any trouble. You have no business being around animals.
I agree, he was aggressive towards the cat from the start. Frankly, so is his assistant. Taking the cat out of the carrier like that was unnecessary. There are much gentler safer and calmer ways to remove the cat from the carrier. They just didn’t have time for it.that’s how it seemed. His entire interaction with the cat was very monotonous. There is no connection no kind, loving, gentle, comforting energy. I don’t know, I wouldn’t want my vet to be like him. I know that much.
That assistant is equally incompetent and dumb. They were rude while trying to get the kitty out of the box. But can’t expect better when even the vet seems to be amateurish and clumsy.
@@equityjustice2695theyre treating him very rough. The injection and pill were fine, but the eviction from the carrier, spinning him around by his scruff (which is fine for kittens but painful for adults due to their body weight) and... whatever he was doing at the end. @@DestructorD mostly considering the cats experience. The spinning was mostly one of those things where you're doing just a LIIIIIITTLE too much. What the conduct in this video communicates to me is that they were trying to get the cat in and out as quickly as possible, without considering that theyre traumatizing the cat. Some of the videos they have where the cat is fighting like hell, some rougher treatment is warranted. But this guy in particular just needed a gentler hand. All this experience is going to do is compound the cats resistence at future visits.

Most of the cats dont trust the vet (given how angry the cats are) but thats not stopping him from treating the cats, he does not hurt them in anyway still. Even the owners are okay with his methods.
