As much as i love the war machine era , remembering that comic where Rhodes got burned badly was one of the most scary comics i ever read as a kid. Wish Rhodes would come back as silver sentinal those shoulder pads are to die for.

Tony knew he was dying when he created the War Machine armor- it was specifically made to compliment Jim's background and fighting style. Tony only wore the WM armor on one occasy- because it was the most advanced suit and he could give it a "shakedown" for any problems before giving it to Rhodey.
After watching this video, I went back and read some of the other Iron Man story lines(It's really eye opening how Marvel just Disney'd up Marvel Universe).
Well....outside of black panther, how many black marvel heroes grew up privileged? Not Luke Cage, not Blade, not Rhodey, not Miles Morales. They all grew up in the ‘hood.’ So it was pandering then actually.
@@ChrisGFields actually most characters grew up working class. No impoverished and blade is british. Miles is also upper middle class and goes to an elite school. With both parents who have great jobs. So no its not
@@websurfer8670 miles’ dad was a police officer, that’s not upper middle class, Blade was an orphan bro. His mom died during child birth. I’ll give you some other examples Falcon is from Harlem and his parents were both murdered and Storm was a thief.
@@ChrisGFields Miles lives in ny city GOOD. In 2020. Also just because a character has a rough origin doesnt mean that its PANDERING. Charles Xavier and the Juggernaught were abused as kids. Is that pandering? You sound dumb. Also storn was worshipped as a literal God. And in a comic i just read that was written in 2011 many peoole in africa still consider her a God.

7:57 That’s the coolest War Machine suit! It sucks that Stark wore it instead of Rhodes. Jim should have worn that one instead of Tony. It’s totally unfair and annoying that Tony wore the Variable Threat Response Battle Suit at that time while still referring to himself as Iron Man. That honesty really bothers me.
what happened to that baby he saved? it comes off more as a tug at sympathy to include a melodramatic detail like saving a newborn when a near death experience would have been enough motivation to get sober.
I always find myself asking (in universe) why the name "War Machine" was decided to be the name of a more government based superhero, like imagine being say China or Russia in one of the wars in the marvel universe and you hear of the USA's newest superhero: WAR MACHINE! Wouldn't that raise a few red flags?
i thought tony was injured by an ex "kathy dare" ? she shot him temporarily paralyzing him and Rodey became war machine and took over tony's company for a while.
