@@johnwalkeristhatdude3018 you do realize that none of them WANTED to be an original and that the abuse they’re parents inflicted on them resulted in them all handling it differently? We never see enough of Kol’s story to assume and okay so he’s psychotic, he’s a vampire and he’s allowed to be. Also, NO ONE listened to him about Silas and he ended up being right. They all looked at him as murderous psychopath and that’s all he got.

I'm not aware of how many people started watching the Originals with no TVD context, it would seem vampirism rules and TVDverse lore would be extremely hard to catch up on

@@TheMinarus I don't know the numbers, but I know that there were many who knew nothing and only started TO because it looked interesting. Anyway, I do agree that TVD lore and the works would definitely be much just to dive into a standalone sequel. That said, there are videos that they could have watched to catch up without watching the whole TVD show or even reactions to it. I have always wonder how many of those who went into TO blind, didn't know it was a sequel.

@@TheMinarus I’m one of those people 🙋🏼 I watched the first season of TO before ANY TVD. And I’ve still only watched the Originals related episodes. Never got into it enough to want to watch it all.

@@Drummer4President That's a shame that you never got into the show. At least you went back and watched the necessary episodes up to TVD episode 420 "The Originals". I know TO was written in such a way to be a standalone, but having that extra information and watching those scenes from TVD adds more to the characters. So, I applaud you for taking the effort to watch the OG of Plec's TVDU.

No you are definitely not,but I personally love them both, I mean there are moments when I can't justify somethings some of them does or when I understand one more than another but at the end they really complement each other.

You are not, for sure... I like Klaus a lot but Elijah is my favorite character in the whole 'TVD Universe'.

I love them both but I feel like Elijah is underrated. People get so mad at Elijah for what he does but they don't really get mad at the bad stuff Klaus has done.

@@Alewaxon SPOILER ALERT: He sometimes blame Klaus for being Klaus (yk what I mean) while he as a vampire has done a lot of the same stuff he is not less ruthless than Klaus but no one calls up on his shit. His all facade is used to hide his diabolical OCD (no hate for ppl with ocd but Elijah's ocd is really something else) plus you would've thought he wouldn't kill the woman he claim to love in his mind or in his reality in szn 4 had hope didn't come to save her mom Hayley would've been dead plus in szn 5 after his memories came back he cried for like 2 seconds and then kinda went back to Antoinette don't get me wrong I don't care that he went to her I care cuz he literally helped kill the "love of his life" and went back to another person so quickly like did u even liked Hayley

@@shanilapidot5009 SPOILLERRRSS Yeah you are presenting situations in the most black and white way possible... "Sometimes blame Klaus for being Klaus"? Do you not agree that Klaus does bad shit? That he has 'bad' or 'evil' character traits? Is it not the point of the show for him to change? And Elijah's corrections of Klaus behavior is one of the main reasons why Klaus got the amount of character development he got... Hope was his reason, his catalyst; but Hope wasn't the one advising him, telling when something was wrong or right, etc. Elijah is one of the main reasons why Klaus got any improvement as a person and the show itself tells you explicitly. The reason why Elijah CAN be the voice of reason to Klaus is because he ABSOLUTLY holds the moral high ground over Klaus... You said "He has done a lot of the same stuff as Klaus", that's very black and white... Klaus has done FAR worse things, in a FAR greater quantity and for FAR worse reasons... In his 1000 years Klaus has gone thru villages, towns, etc. and kill, tortured and hurt people just for fun, boredom or some selfish desire for a position of power... The things that Elijah has done have been horrible as well, but not nearly close enough in scale to Klaus; and the main thing is his reasoning: He has done most of those things to protect his family members, not for fun or sport but for some reasoning that comes back to the safety of his family, Klaus says it himself in episode 4x10 I believe, when he says to Hayley that "We are all monsters, we have done horrible things, but Elijah has only ever done those things for family" implying the difference between the awful things he has done and the things Elijah has done. Obvs because of the bad things he has done Elijah doesn't hold the moral high ground over a lot of the characters on the show that haven't done such things and he is not a saint at all, but it does absolutely mean that he can lecture Klaus about the things he does most of the times because Elijah does hold moral standards that Klaus doesn't. Now, you are using the fact that Elijah was trapped in a prison of his own mind, WHILE HIS SOUL WAS FRACTURED, to make the point that he is pure evil? That's just not it... They tell you in that episode that Elijah will not be on his right mind and that given the fact that he is fractured he could be trapped in the worst version of himself. Now we all agree that the worst version of himself is pretty bad (so it's pretty much everyone in the show); but you are not even taking into consideration that in reality he doesn't act that way... The worst possible version of yourself it's only a representation of you if that it's indeed how you behave, if you choose to act that way (like Klaus has done many times by choosing to behave in the worst version of himself); How is it a negative thing for a character with a dark side to choose to not act that way, and to still be decent despite of it? "He cried for like 2 seconds and came back to Antoinette?"... Now IDK if we watched the same episodes, because that's not what happen... The grief over the loss of Hayley was a driving force for Elijah for the rest of the show; even influencing his decision to die... And he didn't go back to Antoinette, he cured her and then went to grieve for Hayley... And I don't believe I need to point out that he didn't "helped kill" Hayley; he didn't have his memories, he knew who they were but he didn't have all the feelings and allegiances that come with those memories and that piece of himself... And it's always so funny how people blame him, even over someone like Hope who was the one who put her mother in danger, but in the show no one really blames him specially not Hayley when she meets Hope. Lastly and perhaps more to the point about him being a "hypocrite": You are only a hypocrite if you criticize someone for saying or doing things that YOU don't normally do, that's kind of the definition... And that doesn't apply to Elijah almost never; when he is scolding Klaus about the things he does and how he behaves he does it on shit that Elijah himself doesn't normally do... Daggering siblings, being an ass to Rebekah, hurting innocent people of the street, killing docents and docents of people at a time, plotting and creating mayhem to grab power or to 'be the king', etc... Like I said, most of the times that Elijah criticizes Klaus he absolutely does have the moral high ground to do so.

@@Alewaxon SPOILER ALERT: first of all I never said Klaus was a saint! He definitely has done some unforgivable things. But the fact that Elijah does horrible things as but for his family doesn't make it right so yes maybe he can lecture Klaus but the fact that he his doing those things after those lectures for family is pretty hypocritical to me. It's like if one of my family members will kill someone just for fun and I'd lecture him about it but after the lecture I would go kill that one eye witness so that my family member won't get caught I'll be as guilty as my family member
