MJ was on another whole level. Sure he was inspired by others but he made it look more fluid like and so neat. He was most crafty with it. He was a perfectionist if you ask me.
MJ like all artist observed others too but MJ added his own interpretation on the moves and made it his own! LONG LIVE THE KING OF POP IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER!
I've said this before and I will say it until kingdom come. there is no doubt MJ was inspired by all of these people. the difference between MJ and a lot of these so called artists today is that when MJ did something that we've already seen he took it and made it his own, something completely fresh and different. And he was always honest enough to say what inspired him. he was the king of putting his own twist on everything he did. long live the ♔!!!
I agree NiqueJ MIller. One of the many great things about Michael is that he gave credit where credit due. Always praised others, never bragged about himself.
James Cagney said to bob hope, do you know any of my routines. Bob hope replied, yeah, I did them first. James Cagney came back with a grin on his face and said, yeah but I did them right. I will never forget those lines.
It's the choreographers who gave John Travolta (for example) those moves, not John Travolta himself. Those choreographers were inspired by previous dancers who go back in generations. Dance movement evolves. Michael is so beautifully gifted to combine various dance movements (with the help of dancers who guided him) and truly make the Dance his own. We recognize every signature Michael Jackson move in an instant! We will always remember and continue to be inspired by Michael.💗🕊️💃
MJ would be the first to say where his inspirations were drawn from. That doesn't detract from his genius ability to recognise cool movements and combine them into something even better! It's as if the others worked out the basics just so he could come along and tie it all together and polish it up. What a legend.
MJ became the MASTER! Every artist learned from ones before but to take note, create your own signature and make it even better! Is PURE MASTERY! MJ IS THE TRUE DESERVING KING OF POP! KING OF DANCE! KING OF ENTERTAINMENT!
They started it, he culminated, perfected it & added so much more. Now he is the compact encyclopedia of dance. And you're forgetting his song & message, his outlook on life, truth & politics, thats what really made him an icon.
MU is the greatest performer dancer musician at all times with creative signature , polished, upgraded, enhanced , assimilated, and integrated diverse style learned from the masters that made everything unique and distinctt for MJ as Iconic legendary figure in Dance and Music
Michael always give credit to all these people in every award show, interview, or public event. The additions Michael brought to music industry, from dancing, videos, stage presence, culture, and lyrics, are way beyond the reach of any artist ever. Michael was a genius in everything he did. no to mention the fans of MJ, there will never be as dedicated fans like MJ fans.
He brought together things learned and if you know the references, good for you. No one would be here today, or know what they do, without those that taught or given us so much. MJ was talented, and intelligent enough to appreciate mentors (he did work with Marcel Marceau - mime, and F Astaire did complement MJ on his moves). Music and dance where his life.
michael is the best, this is fact, he took all that dances of that singers and dancers e made it better, he turn it in a only thing, he made history he created all that things anybody can take that
Moonie 123 There's no way in hell Michael Jackson was a better dancer than Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly (he took dance moves and the flooding pants from him), or the Nicholas Brothers who taught him tap dancing. If you think so then you're blind
This is simply not true, you really need to search before you say things like this. You may be a MJ fan, but that doesn't mean you need to pull down other great artists!
Burbing Berries... Mike was better at more dance style than all of them. could Fred do a better James brown impersonation than Mike. What about a better robot impersonation... Or what about a lockers impersonation. Mike was more versatile than all of them, thus making him an overall better dancer. Mike could do it all. Could you say the same about the other dancers you mentioned?
Michael has a different style in him that no one on earth has! He is the king of all of this. I'm never pleased enough by anyone else's moves like I'm pleased by Michael's
Quel beau compliment d'1 fabuleux danseur à 1 autre. Respect.. Admiration.. Amour..
Not John Travolta, but yes to everyone else. MJ was influenced by the masters before him, yet put his own creative twist on it to make it his own. True mark of genius.
This is a very interesting small film expressing the influences of other entertainer for Michael Jackson, but let us not forget Jackie Wilson nor forget that Michael Jackson perfected those dancing styles to point that they are forever Michael Jackson for Billions of fans globally. Those artist did not earn the acclaim nor the recognition that Michael received. It is Michael Jackson with the amazing two Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction with the title of being the youngest to earn it. It is Michael Jackson with the numerous Guinness Book of World Records recognized recorded accomplishments that are still not surpassed by any living entertainment artist globally. Michael Jackson is forever in our History books and will never be forgotten. Michael I love you my angel! We all love you!
Michael Jackson King of Pop
Remember also that as time's gone on we've had easier access to watch, rewind, re- watch the moves or the musical abilities of others. Getting easier and easier. One reason for the numerous super-skilled young ones now.
Without mj we would not be talking about it either. He is the best. The day anyone else can really outdo him or e even equal him we would be blessed the 2nd time.
We are waiting for that day....to experience the same magic people experienced in Michael's time period....even we need that....a global superstar.🥰🙏✌️🤷
It makes one wonder about the untold numerous untold stories of closed-door meetings Michael & his attorneys would've been required to schedule, with prior artists across the entire entertainment-spectrum, in order to legally 'borrow' certain things here & there, in order to him to present HIS 'final-product' to his millions of adoring fans. And he did it SO well...
That's what you call the standard of polishing. Don't stop til you get enough and are completely satisfied with your dance. Polish your entire choreography like how Michael polish all the details of his dance moves from start to finish. It matters most because it's yours. It's your dance. It's from your heart mind and soul. It's love. In other words, put your entire heart and soul into your dance. "You can't teach it. You can't teach someone how to dance. It must be within you. You have to feel it. Let yourself become part of the music." ~Michael Jackson
Good work! Michael was so Good because he put the best of the best together and made it his own and owned it! what a talented man he was! a compliment to masters before him! thumbs up!
Good but you left out 2 of the Major players! Michael himself said he got some moves by watching Jackie Wilson (who sang Lonely Tear Drops) and the 1st moon walker recorded was 1955 by Bill Baily. Michael did not create it. However, there is nothing new, under the sun! Michael did it all well, except be happy about his achievements & looks. A gifted man indeed.
What I found so fascinating is that he attended Queen performance studied Freddy Mecury relationship w audience and made it his own. And went beyond the moves. Itakes for awesome Theater
Michael himself was unique, even if not all of his moves. He still added flavour to them and actually did most of them better than the originators. He put his signature on every move. What was really original about Michael was his voice.... His voice was truly unique along with his ability as a performer. Look at Chris Brown, Neyo, Justin Timberlake, Usher and the list goes on. They are all inspired by Michael, Prince and other artist and you can see it all in their moves and their music.
Watching videos of Jackson 5, even then as a young boy, he was a great dancer!! Watching him dance as a teenager, really is mesmerizing. And I have to mention Smooth Criminal dance! ❤️❤️❤️
