This type of skin on frame uses plywood cross frames as opposed to bending ribs from strips of wood (which I will show in later videos).

Currently building my fuselage method SOF. Having had an 18' expedition fibreglass sea kayak previously, the components of my 15' touring SOF seem stupidly light 😁

I've help several people hoist their kayaks back up onto their car. One guy asked about the weight of mine and I let him pick it up. He just groaned. Another think about SOF boats is their flexibility. Going through waves is a different experience.

I don't have plans for this particular boat, but you can look through the website yostwerks.org/ and learn a lot how to build one. Most of the boats on this site are aluminum frame and are folding kayaks, but it's easier just to make it as a wood frame. Also, check out my own website paddleandoar.com. Also google "skin on frame kayaks". Good luck!
