Boston fans knows what’s up, especially after last years 3-1 series win by the Magic. Boston has a hell of a team! I would love to get a shot at Boston, doubt Magic can win but I think people will see how shit ain’t sweet in Orlando.
What people aren’t paying attention to is their improvement on the offensive end in the second half of the season. They’ve been shooting the 3 much better than earlier in the season. They’re 11th in 3pt percentage in the league since new year (38 games), so don’t be surprised if their 3pt shots is falling in the play offs. This team is just hitting its stride going into the play offs. Don’t know if they win a series but this is still very impressive for such a young team. They have 40 million in capspace to improve in the off-season as well. Should be a 50+ win team for the next few years.
The Magic beat the Knicks 3 times this season and own the tie breaker. After the Magic’s win over the Pels and the Knicks loss to the Nuggets last night, the Magic sit at #4! The Magic have 3 more games against West Coast playoff teams in the next 7 days. SAC, GSW and the Clips, all at home. Our goal is 50 wins! We need to go at least 8-4! I bet no one was predicting that back in October.

I’m a Magic fan since 1989 when l was 24 years old. This is without a doubt our 3rd best team in franchise history! This team is going to make some serious progress this playoffs!
Great video guys and fair comments. You also surprised me about the transition stats - I assumed that was a going to be a strength. Our offense continues to develop, Suggs shooting being a huge improvement. If we come out focused and firing we can make it tough for everyone but you're right to set realistic expectations. However, time is on our side - the front office has been spectacular and patient over recent years and got us into a fantastic position. I pray we get to see this young core play with each other for a very long time. 👍👍
The Franz take is wildly taken out of context. He's been consistent for his first two years shooting the 3. He's improved in every metric besides 3P%. I do agree Franz needs to work on his middy, but he's a better player than he was. Also an underrated defender

Man for you guys not being magic fans you both sure know what you're talking about. The point made about franz is dead on. We love him down here. Theres a large number of fans that think paolo amd franz are equal, as far as talent but they're not. Paolo is a 3 level scorer and will only get better. Whereas franz is more about attacking the basket with his elite euro, cutting backdoor for easy baskets and taking step back 3s(which he's not shooting that great out there) He doesnt have a mid-range game. And that's a problem for him being our number 2 scorer. Watching pels and the magic last night and seeing how brandon ingram before the injury, how he can score good in the mid range, it becomes glaring that's what we are missing from franz.
joel isn’t low on the knicks. as a magic fan, i can see new york as an ECF team (if they avoid the celtics in R2). but i do agree with the 50/50 statement. it would be a fun series between our teams. i really believe it’d be one of those where whoever wins game 1 wins the series

The Magic have a good Defense no one can question that. Ppl want to talk shit about the Magics offense, but they have 2 guys (Paolo and Franz) who can drop 30 any given night. Ppl want to say theyre a bad 3 point shooting team, ok their 3pt percentage isnt great, but their starting 5 has 3 guys who can shoot 3s, Suggs (40%), G. Harris (37%), W. Carter (37%), the worst 3pt shooters by percent are Wagner (28%) and Banchero (33%). Ppl need to stop talking about spacing, Magic dont have a Ben Simmons in their line up, who do ppl think Ds are sagging off, Magics 2 worst 3pt shooters are Banchero and Wagner, no shot ppl are sagging off them, Wagners having a down season but he'll knock down a lot more than 28% if teams leave him open. Also the Magics szn 3pt % is being dragged down by the first half of the szn, they shot better in the 2nd half of the szn. Magic have one of the best defenses in the league, defenses dont have a night off, and have two guys who can go for 30 on offense and make plays for their teammates. Defense wins...
The biggest factor is this team needs to learn to play at playoff intensity. If JI and others are healthy and can play with that intensity they could beat anyone but the celtics. They even beat them twice this year.
The magic have a win in Minnesota with Kat and ant playing. They beat the Knick 3 outta of 4 times. They have a win against the nuggets. They have a win against the suns. I disagree they haven’t had a signature win. I don’t think we should take those games for granted.
I’m a Magic fan and I agree expecting them to win a playoff series is too much right now. All we want to see is being competitive in their first playoff series, take someone to 6 or 7 games. I believe they can do that. It’s fine that they aren’t a complete team yet and still have a few flaws. They are exceeding all expectations and are only getting better as they get older and add some pieces in the offseason.
idk about orlando “not having signature wins.” they’re 2-0 against denver this year. 3-1 against the knicks. beat boston and milwaukee. beat both cleveland and the pacers multiple times. won in minnesota, too. those games just aren’t televised and that’s why the no big wins narrative exists.
forgetting so many. every win against miami is a signature win for our fan base. this season has literally been a collection of signature wins lol and there’s still an opportunity for more in these final 12 games
Great discussion, love the praise of the team. As a Magic fan I also agree Knicks have the edge on us and would likely win in a series. Lack of playoff experience and shaky offense will be our downfall.
