What is admirable about this family is humble sila and hindi sila mahilig sa spotlight. They do not display their wealth in public with flashy cars and branded clothes and jewelry. Very low profile sila and marami silang sinusuportahan na charity.

Don Francisco Ortigas Jr was our immediate neighbor for 22 years in Washington St Greenhills San Juan. He was a gentle, simple , humble person , walked to the Cardinal Santos hospital Chapel every morning ,withour a bodyguard . Never rode luxury ,flashy cars . . God reward him in heaven.

Now i know why they became rich and owned a super huge portion of land in that area. Thats because Don Paco became a Registrar of Deeds who knows everything about lands. Speaking of Tiendesitas, it is perhaps the ugliest mall in Metro Manila where you cannot find everything you want. And i heard that it is now purchased by SM and soon to be redeveloped at the end of thia year.

Maswerte mga taong mapera nung panahon na di pa developed ang karamihan ng mga lugar sa metro manila kasi sila yung nagkaron ng chance na maka.acquire at naging mga business giant sa panahon ngayon. Ngayon, wala ng bakanteng lupa na pwede mong mabilo, kung meron man eh apaka mahal 😅 Iba pa rin talaga nagagawa ng pera, talino at diskarte.

5years din ako nag work sa Ortigas Center from 1993 to 1998 It was one of my best job ever 'though I made a choice to take care of my 2 babies back then, I missed the place but still I go to Megamall and Shangrila often 😊 Memories ❤

According to my grandmother the late V Albano Albano... the lot where SM Megamall and Robinsons Galleria stands were originally owned by our great grand parents Don Juan Enrico Albano Albano of Spanish origin..which were still high tall green grasses storied by our late grandmother a blue-green eyed person. On the reason they could not managed all their hectares of land all over the country they decided then to sell it to the Ortigas family. My great grandparents and grandparents belong to the so called Buena Familia as what then they called before..so with their antique cars which then they sold to the Lopez family. You can see the old old pictures of the family in their antique house in Ilocos Norte. And im proud of it.😊

Very informative, the design is very land grabber. Di pa rin ako bilib. Naisip ko tuloy if paano binayaran o niloko ang tunay na may ari ng mga lupa noon na walang choice kasi nga Registrar of Deeds at nag abogado pa. Nagtayo ng kompanya partnered with foreign investors para kamkamin ang mga lupa sa Pilipinas. One thing, kaya siguro tinanggihan ang offer as public servant kasi mabubuko siya for land grabbing. Di tulad sa panahon ngayon mabubuking na thru lifestyle check. Kawawa ang mga Pinoy. Kahit mag donate pa sila ng ilang ektaryang lupa, di pa rin ako bilib dahil di naman sila totoong Pinoy. Since moving in last 2020, among all the citirs in manila , for me ortigas is the best location to live , accesible sa lgroceroes ko just a walk a way s mall, and you are in the middle ng metro manila.

The Ortigas family specifically Eddie, is a close friend & co-SCUBA diver. They have a security company called SAGITRO … an acronym reverse of ORTIGAS ! Eddie’s father, Francisco or Paquito related how he was able to acquire the land beside EDSA wc was then called Highway 54. A major street in Ortigas is called Tektite Ave. Eddie explained that many Tektites were found in this area thus it was named as such. A Fabulous Family indeed.

One major factor of these successful families is that they usually don't have that toxic Filipino trait of utang na loob. They made their name individually, or at least the elders of the clan. I think it's one of the hurdles of the common potentially successful Filipinos being pulled down by their "responsibility" for their families.

1987ortigas mega mall… hindi ko makalimutan ang aking nakakabucet na karanasan.pumunta ako para bumili lang ng japanese recipe na ulam “sukiyaki“nagmamadali akong pumasok at naghanap ng toilet.napakahaba ng mall,at nasa magkabilaan ang toilet. hindi k maka lakad ng mabilis dahil madulas ung sahig🥲 muntik pa akong maihi s panty😢 tas ung nabili kong sukiyaki ay napakatigas ng karne.kc hindi pala karne ng baka kundi karne ng kabayo😢

Ang tunay na nagmamayari ng ortigas hindi dayuhan na mayaman kundi mga magsasaka na nakatira sa pasig brgy ugong dahil ang origas nuon ay taniman ng mga lihitimong nakatira sa brgy ugong wala lang silang aral kasi nga mahirap lang at nuon alam ng lahat hindi pa uso titulo ng lupa .komo may aral ang mga mamayan nayan at pwede ng lagyan ng titulo ng lupa eh ginamit nila ang aral at yaman makamkam lang ang gustong makamtan..maraming nakakaalam ng istorya nayan kawawa yung mga lihitimong nagmamayari ..tunay na pasigueño
