One of America's most talented families ever. The Osmonds could do it all...sing, dance, act, produce, direct, and play over 38 instruments. They are an American treasure!
@@lorettamurray6670 When they were younger, they always said One Brother would learn an instrument, and then teach that to all his brothers. Another would learn something else and teach that to the rest, by the time they were done all of them could play 38 different instruments.
I can see why he was voted one of the top 10 drummers in the US in the ‘70’s. Extremely talented this was about 1981. He used to always play drums in the background on set of Donny and Marie show on the little bit country/little bit rock and roll segment of the show. He started playing around age nine, and was taught by some of the best. He has said he played on most of their albums. He is in his sixth decade of performing. Hard to believe. I have always loved to watch him sing and drum at the same time. I became a fan in ‘72 at age 10. As I got older Jay became my favorite and I thought he was drop dead gorgeous. Got to meet him in ‘81 in concert. He took my breath away. I thought I was going to faint. He was even more handsome, 7:59 beautiful smile. When he talked to you, you could tell he closed the whole world out and wanted to know only about you. Now, after having done his Osmond musical in the UK, which he is supposed to be bringing to the US in the future, he just started his new show in Branson, MO. on March 2nd, 2024. He and his wife Karen have a channel for his fans to promote the musical several years ago called “Osmond Connection”. You can tell they are crazy about one another and have a very deep connection. I’m so glad he found true happiness after his divorce.
They should be but they aren't,t because they were known as a bubblegum pop 🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵 band they weren't,t recognized by the rock and roll hall of Fame that,s their loss
The Osmonds aren't in the rock and roll Hall of Fame cause they didn't play Hollywood's game. The Osmonds have opened for Led Zeppelin so you know they can play rock. The Jackson's have been inducted twice. Michael was groomed by Diana Ross and probably Elizabeth Taylor. If you don't believe me, check out the words to Michaels song titled Dirty Diana.
That drum solo 😱 Jay inspired me to start learning the drums when I was 13. I only played for 3 years but he truly inspired me. Watching this makes me want to learn again
Jay's drum solo had me absolutely awestruck. It's such a pity that he's so underrated as a drummer. He's up there with the best. But then people also forget how good Karen Carpenter was, too. They like to concentrate on the usual rock drummers who Jay was much better than some of them. Further to that, it's a shame the Osmonds aren't given more kudos these days for just how talented they are.
The Osmonds were largely scorned by 'serious' music fans until Crazy Horses came out. That song showed just where their true music roots lay. Jay's vocals and drumming on that song are incredible.
The Osmonds are great!!! Alan is my favorite, but Jay was so awesome doing that drum solo. He was so exciting playing on those drums. Just fantastic!!!!! 😃😃😃😃😃
Same age as Donny and when I was growing up my faves were the Osmonds Brothers and the Jackson 5. Tons of talent in both families. Had to tune in to Kasey Kasem and the American Top 40 every Sunday night. Good times and happy memories. Jay was always my favorite. Fun stuff still. Thank you all!
I was fortunate to have seen the Osmonds in concert at New Mexico State University's Homecoming years ago. The football team lost ("slaughtered" is more like it 😆), but the Brothers put on an AMAZING show. WOWWOWWOW! 😍
so many memories i loved this group and still do and couldn't wait till they came to England. they are so talented .many groups now days could not do what they did .thanks for all the great times
The Osmonds are an explosion of talent! It's amazing that there is so much talent in one family..and they're so good looking! I would love to see the entire concert. Love the Osmond brothers! Thank you so much for sharing!
The osmonds brothers were very versatile and did a wide range of music unfortunately it would have been nice 2 c them do heavier rock! Crazy horses was great and a harder sound album would have been good to do but i no there parents AND record label prob didnt approve that! But no matter what these boys had talent!!!
They should have stayed an all boy band instead of adding Marie to break away with Donny. No offence meant to Marie, but they were such a fantastic group in the early 70's especially.
