Story of this video: dont play dans (like seriously dont play them. As an experienced mania player dans doesnt mean actual skill since u can usually be specialised on one skill such as jack, and tank the rest of the map. Also it fucks with ur pov of mania skill in general

most Dans include many maps from Etterna/Stepmania, these types of maps are usually just absurd to play if you're not familiar with them

First map is jack second is technical third is speed fourth is stamina for me stamina is no boss song, it might even be the thing that help me to recover from the abyss and usually speed/jack is the hardest song for me

I believe the pattern for the bossfight was a light jumpstream

the maps in order are always jacks, tech, streams, and stamina which is usually a jumpstream or handstream map

I had the opposite problem lmao. I kept getting mindblocks on all the songs except angel of darkness which was pretty fun. 5th Dan is still crazy tho

i play dans for fun but i play it for competition against my skill tip: get high accuracy on the first song and try to maintain the accuracy from there

Yeah, reform Dan 4's final song is so much harder than the rest. I enter the final song with 97 and end with barely below 96. I'm probably just going to skip to Dan 5 kek.

dans are split into 4 parts, 1st is always "Jack" we are all familiar with jacks, but dan courses always have chordjacks. 2nd is "Tech" tech maps have changing rhythms throughout the map, so its not just an ongoing rhythm like the other maps. 3rd map is "Speed" these type of maps are very often singlestreams (not jumpstreams or handstreams) 4th and final map is "Stamina" these maps are usually handstreams or jumpstreams(like angel of darkness), these are also mostly very long and with minimal breaks. The point of the "Dan" course is to measure your skill in every one of these aspects in the game. It calculates how good of a play you are in general, not in a specific mapping style.

this is mania maps in general lmao. The difficulty jump from 4 to 5 stars is insane, its not just dans. Dans aren't a clear representation of ones skill either bc everyone has different skillsets.

I am SO glad to see that these maps mess with all mania-style VSRG players and not just me. As an FNF player, I've found it VERY hard to tell how good I am because of every FNF player ever going "OH WOW YOU'RE CRACKED YOU FC'D BLAMMED YOU MUST BE THE BEST EVER" (This is obviously not impressive in the slightest I've done way crazier stuff than this lol)

Finally completed 5th dan after months. Tbh, if you wanna complete it there are 2 extremely important things: getting faster and learning dense js. The tech and speed maps are absurd for 5th dan for new players and are extremely unforgiving, so you are forced to be faster if you want to clear it. Second, the stamina map is absurd compared to 4th, dense compared to light js is a stupidly large jump and makes it ridiculously hard, you have to practice it specifically if you want to clear.

This setup is kinda fire bro I wonder how it'd look like if I had this setup and played 7-8* manip beatmaps

sorry if this sounds agressiven, but you're honestly just bad, first song is jacks, second is tech which it was (had variable bpm and awkward patterns), third is speed, it was slow but it had the speed patterns, and last one wasn't hard it was very simple stamina, it was low bpm jumpstream and handstream, very easy it was just a skill issue from your part.

the jump of difficulty from dan 4th from 5th is so big i seriously dont know how i cleared it with 97.95 stamina is horrible also im grinding dan 6th and i got 95.77 edit: clear 6th 96.09 loll wtf the jump to dan 6th to 7th

I cleared 7th dan and my major issue with 8th dan is the jack map which i can barely even pass. 8th stamina is also kinda hard but not as difficult as the jack map by far. I cleared 8th tech and speed doe (even cleared 9th speed lol). And don't worry, i was 4th dan about 3 months ago

You got that all wrong, dans are rlly good if you don’t have severe skill issues and overestimate yourself and have rlly low knowledge of the game, the second song here is a tech map it is meant to feel awkward last map is a stamina map and it is not that hard you just have skill issues.

dans are kinda useless and ridicolously inaccurate for juding a player's skill level, lets do a practic example. Im trying to beat the "beta dan" (12th dan), but to actually pass it you need 96%. i have 95.44% on it, yet i can get 97% or even more on every song but the first, because the first song is usually chordjacks and im bad at those. So basically if you are specialized in anything or if you aren't as good in 1 skill set as the rest you get penalized HEAVILY. moral of the story: dan bad go farm pp with dt
