My first semester of college, my history professor told our class that he was one of Al Capone's lawyers. He looked like it was possibly true. I don't think anyone in that class ever questioned it. He did tell one of the stories you mentioned in this vlog. Jordan, you always do such an excellent job of telling the story. Thank you.
Why would your class ask it. Everyone deserves a defense. That's what differentiates a democracy from a dictatorship. Simple as that. And we should never mess with these values. Greetings from Germany.
Another great vlog. Many thanks Jordan for all your research and the time you must spend assembling all these biographies into a fascinating and entertaining narrative.
Bud,that’s just the beginning of who is there,go right across the street to queen of heaven cemetery and there are a lot more mafia members there as well.
@LarryFleetwood8675 did you noticed the stone has been tinkered on as well. It sad to see people be so low. I know he wasn't the best man but dang. It's history!!!!!😢
@@elisadjones oh my goodness, thank you Elisa I can’t believe I wrote that. The reason I can’t believe it is, I’m a massive Unsolved Mysteries fan. I watched it here in Australia ever Saturday night, I wouldn’t meet my friends at the club until I had gotten my fix. Today at 54yrs old I’m binge watching it over and over again on u tube. I’m aware of Americas most wanted but it’s Unsolved Mysteries that I love. I’ll delete my comment in case someone else reply’s and doesn’t see this comment. I don’t want to say this all again. It’s Friday morning here, but you have a good afternoon. 👋 Jodie from Wollongong 🇦🇺
My Daddy is buried 2 graves to the right of Capone. Thats Mont Carmel cemetery with Roosevelt Rd behind the headstone in Hillside IL. I am in Florida now and thanks for sharing this.
My grandparents are buried at Mount Carmel very near the Capone plot. That cemetery and the one across the street, Queen of Heaven are both loaded with the graves of Prohibition era mobsters, all heavily Italian and Catholic. Many from opposing gangs, many of the ones not having died of natural causes, having knocked off and been knocked off by one another. Prompting one Chicago scribe of the time to say something like, when judgement day comes and all the souls buried there come to the surface, there's gonna be one heck of a battle around those graves.
Great vlog Jordan ! It's really not surprising that his wife stuck by him when you consider the time. Women were still under the standard gender roles which kept them largely dependant their husbands and the marriage for finacial support. Most religions believe that marriage is for life and divorce is an abomination thus it was at the time a major socital no no as well. Capone was said to have surprisingly been raised to be a strict Catholic, so his wife likely was too. Catholics are even now very anti divorce and the church does not recognize it . Women of the time were taught to just turn a blind eye to their husbands worst behavior and do their best with what they had . Capone's wife likely didn't think of divorce even being a option.
That's what I was thinking, she was financially being cared for, she wasn't going anywhere, and he probably didnt spend to much time at home to where she'd get tired of his shenanigans.
Hi Jordan! Great video - fascinating facts on him. There is a theater in a town by me that he would come through and steal from. As a deterrent, the theater would run their money in a tunnel that ran under the seats to the back of the theater, to save it from him and his underlings. Have a great day, my friend. Blessings - Judith 🎵🎭
You always have the best informative vlogs Jordan..I have been having a lot of medical issues in the family and haven't had any time to be on RU-vid much. I'm taking care of my uncle who is dying from cancer. I hope you're grandfather is doing well I pray 🙏.
I knew he spent time in alcatraz, but I didn't know any of the other details. God Bless Mrs. Capone. Catholic or not, she had to be one strong woman! Thanks for another great vlog, Jordan!
Have you been up to his cabin at Cooter ray Wisconsin? Real interesting. I was there before they, Fixed it up and kind of changed it a little bit and they made a Restaurant out of the 8 car garage. So a lot of that has changed, but the tour is still interesting. So that's another place where you could probably go. It's way up in northern Wisconsin.
I am a descendant of Albert Capone. My whole family is from Brooklyn New York where my mom and siblings were born and raised. Our families are related and we are Italian from Naples. My Grandmother named me Theresa too! Because the name has meaning in our families, my grandmother and Alfonzo mother were related they we’re cousins!
Well told Jordan, about Al ! I've visited Mt Carmel cemetery a number of times, it is host to some the who's who of mob guys: Frank Nitti, Dean O' Brannon, "Machine Gun" Jack McGurn ETC. Also, actor Dennis Farina, Julia Buccola Petta "The Italian Bride." The Bishops Mausoleum. I would love to tagged along to vlog this place with you, even if it was just to feature Al Capone!
Jordan!!! You’re 15 minutes from my house. The lady in white is a a resident there at Mt Carmel. Queen of Heaven Cemetery is where I have a lot of relatives.
Jordan did you know that he loved kids. He did do some good he was the one who had the dates put on the milk cartons for the kids so they would not get bad milk. This was the milk in schools.
That was Al’s downfall, loving too many women with no protection, back in those days there probably wasn’t protection when having sex, Al’s real downfall was not paying taxes.
How are you ?) I have watched you more than a few years now . ) I remember when I first seen you in 2016 I was going through a rough time in cancer treatment treatment. I am fine now . But when I watch your videos it still reminds me of those times and I do cherish you bringing good content. I remember when you lived in California. You had a job along with your vlogs. I just came across you again here and I like your winning personality too. See you again soon
Thank you, Jordan, for all the research you do to make your videos so interesting. Notice all the chips made in Al Capone's headstone---taken, I presume, as souvenirs. The St. Valentine's Day massacre is the most spectacular unsolved crime in mafia history. Great video. Sam Giancana is also buried somewhere in Chicago.
Its nice to see good video's of history and real times. All these haunted houses and crazy video's is absolutely about to crack me up. So keep your video's coming. ❤❤❤❤❤
Great video. I stayed in the hotel room that he use to stay in at the Arlington hotel in Hot springs Arkansas, I looked around for any hidden money but found nothing. Thanks for the video.
What a life he had, my Father told me that many of the monsters would come to Willimantic when things got hit, we were a quiet little town actually a mill and factory town, he said it was quit obvious because of the cars and the way they dressed what a hoot lol Ty Jordan you did this very well🤗🥰🐾😎
Fascinating! What I know about Al Capone is from the movies. I had know idea about his early life or that he was married for years. Jordan, your knowledge of history is amazing and I always love when you visit the grave of someone famous and telling us their story. Thank you for another wonderful video! 😊☺️❤️🥰☀️🦩🌴☺️❤️
Very interesting! I never did know where he was buried. Quite a crazy and short life. Looks like people have chipped away at his headstone for souvenirs.
Another great video! Thank you so much for for all the great information that you share! I’m from Canada, and in southern Saskatchewan (where my family is from), especially Moose Jaw as Al visited there (there’s even a lawsuit on file from the city of Regina against Al), there still a lot of talk about Al Capone. Saskatchewan was where Al got the alcohol he trafficked. My boss even says his grandpa was Al’s driver when he was this side of the border. They left 60 kegs of rye hidden in a sand dune and they never found it again. Lol. Just a side note….it’s lovely to think that Al’s wife loved him all his life despite his carousing and such…..but she got pregnant young and was forced to marry whether it would be a mistake or not, and in those days you simply couldn’t leave. She probably was stuck in a nightmare she could not escape from, but she handled it with class.
Mount Carmel is a very interesting place I hope you walked around and saw the many head stones that are worth a vlog Like the bride of Mt. Carmel. My entire family is buried there. Just a little FYI in Chicago it's not called the mafia. It's the Outfit and Capone gave it that name. Good vlog❤
Jordan That was really interesting - you come up with most amazing vlogs. Would aboulutely love if you did a vlog on this "mystery woman" who stood by Al Capone through all his "shannagins". Inquring female minds want to know maybe if only because some of us have stood by our bad boy and are still wondering why the hell we did that.
once again jordan you out did yourself again with the story about Al Capone you would’ve made a good history teacher if you would’ve pursued a degree in history i know i would’ve signed up for your class if you were the history instructor keep up the good work that you are doing
Interesting vlog. A lot of great information in this one. I knew he was in Alcatraz for a while. I didn't remember what happened to him after he got out. Thanks for all your hard work on this one. Take care.
Well they were Catholic so divorce didn't happen back then. Plus he probably paid her very well to look the other way. Thanks Jordan it would be interesting to hear about the other mafioso buried around there!
