Hey guys, just an FYI, when I was talking about stabilization a lot of people seem to be confused thinking i've used it for ~a year. This is the first video i've stabilized... I meant I had a mindset change about FPV footage being more than about skill a year ago, not that I started stabilizing a year ago..

The difference is when you make videos for the community which showcase flying, then stabilization there could be "dishonest" in terms of build or tune quality, but when you're putting together stuff like this or reels or any kind of commercial work - ANY TOOL that allows you to improve the quality of the clip, is fair game!

Good explanation of the use of stabilizers. For certain situations, it's necessary and maybe even encouraged. Also, love the footage! I remember you saying to me 2 years ago, in Hawaii.. 'Man, you're so lucky. Where you live you can just fly." It's true, but really, any where you are you can just fly. Sometimes the feeling of flight is enough!

Keep doing your thing, man. The end product is what brings me back. You should hook up with the people in Whistler, BC during the Crankworx Freeride MTB Festival August 10-19 to film. It's also a world tour, but BC is the home stage.

Chatting with flight footage is always good. Ideas that I'd like to know more is how to start flying commercially (audience and potential clients), tricks (including ways to learn them and remember them for use on a typical flight day), pids are always cool.

I really appreciate you talking about some of your troubles “getting the ball rolling”, I’ve been running into that myself. I also agree with you about using stabilization. The visual aesthetics are important to the people who will be watching our videos, so we should consider that when we make our videos. I am going to start playing around with stabilization more to see if it improves the quality of my videos. 👍

Hey Johnny, I committed to this hobby after seeing you fly. In my 30's and video games are fun but getting old and you helped by bringing a new kind of joy to my life once again. Although it sucks not seeing as much content produced, you are assisting in bringing race quads into the main stream through a commercial avenue. That should only benefit us all. Love your take on adding to the scene of the video regarding stabilization. Kind of reminds me of a guitarist who is a virtuoso, but instead of showing of their skill, they play simple melodies that add to the song as a whole rather than showing off.

we were only ever "angry" about keeping the stabilization a secret, coming forwards about it is much better. There was a lot of debate about your videos online and those from TBS, lots of people really believed it was just ND filters alone. anyway I think you're doing something great, you're a pioneer! love that you're commercialising cinematic fpv, this is something I dream of too.

Fpv and fpv freestyle, to me is a way to escape, relax and express youself. Stabilized or raw the end result is the same. Just share YOUR journey the way you see it. And that goes for everyone. There's no better or worse pilots, just different styles for the same goal. ENJOYMENT.

To stabilize or not to.. Any commercial or film would stabilize without hesitation. I think the scrutiny comes from this hobby and a smooth video represents how clean and tunned your build is also how smoothly you can fly as a pilot..
