“We have the Chinese blood, we have the Malay blood, we also have the Indian blood. We are like Rojak, we are mixed. If you are looking at Singaporeans to have a Singapore identity, we are a very good example.”
We spoke to Mr Ponno Kalastree, the president of the Peranakan Indian (Chitty Melaka) Association Singapore and his wife, Mrs Dora Woo, to find out what race means to them.

Excellent! I recalled mum saying grandma was chitty melaka. So I was trying to explain to my racist lecturer that peranakan refers to mixed race community with the local people and does not only involved baba-nyonya but also other races like Indian, Malay, Dutch. Oh well, I was put down with a big "No, you are wrong", on my first day of class. This one is for you Mr Desmond.

The constitution needs to be challenged and destroyed. Coz every man and woman has a right to choose their ACTUAL beliefs and not have it imposed on them by a law. That’s called religious and cultural CONTROL.

@@megatonhammer4723 i'm so glad Singapore has very civilise laws that control silly bronze age religion like Islam.. and the silly new culture and mindset that it spawn.. the religion of Islam allows old man to marry children.. they've managed to convinced most of their women that their head is nothing more than an extension of their private part ''hence the need to wrap it up'' and not to mentioned cutting of human parts.. be careful what you wish for.. a rich modern technology state like Singapore should aim to eradicate this form of medieval barbarity at all cost..

Malay are genetically diverse, some look like Chinese and some look like Indian, and some look like Arabs. Therefore Malay is not a race too, but a cultural identity. In the constitution of Malaysia, anyone who speak Bahaha Melayu, practice Malay culture and is a Muslim is qualified to be a Malay lol. 😂 I think some of the people I know are definitely qualified to be Malay haha.
