We should give up our notions of finding meaning, rather we need to have direct felt experiences, with people, with forests and waterfalls, with oceans and skies, with life and death, with the Other. Truth, beauty and decay.
Mr Powers is such an extraordinary thinker and writer. Creating and publishing "The Overstory" was a noble deed, an endeavor that would enlighten many minds to a greater sense of reality and the wonder inherent to a deeper understanding of our true place among the many species that make our existence possible. I have since read some of his other works and enjoyed them greatly, but this book is exceptional even among his own impressive catalog.
