I love this video so much! It’s so in-depth and the parts where you talk about each character (especially Hunter) were really well done :D. I relate to Hunter alot and especially to the fact that while he was under Belos’ thumb he only kinda had one purpose in life and without getting too into my mental stuff that’s a sentiment I can somewhat relate to and empathize with. Especially lines like “I miss knowing who I’m supposed to be” and “I’m not who I’m supposed to be right now but I like who I am right now” which exemplify his growth throughout the story. I also found the part where you said that that Hunter’s development throughout the story is about him discovering what he truly wants at the most hectic part of his life which is another thing that’s relatable for me. And also on the subject of Luz OH BOY WHERE DO I BEGIN?! First off I love the “Break the Cutie” Trope the Owl House pulls with her as she goes from a happy go lucky heroine to a more careful and slightly wiser heroine to a brooding and semi-cynical heroine in the span of three seasons. That aspect of Luz’s character is also kinda relatable for me :/. But I also like how in “For The Future” Luz begins to regain her spark and her joy comes back to her which I loved seeing back in January where I too was re-learning my joy. Also the Luz and Eda argument/fight was too painful to watch ;-;. And on the topic of TOH not “fitting the Disney Brand”, I agree that it didn’t make sense. It’s so annoying no actually not even annoying it’s downright infuriating to see such a good show with such a loving fanbase get cut down so early and it really hurt hearing about it in 2021 which was when I started to really get into the fandom. And the final message of the Owl House and your video as a whole that being not letting go of what brought you comfort is also something I can relate to and is a beautiful message. All things considered this is my favorite video of yours and I loved watching it, incredible work Sensei! EDIT: Sorry if this comment was really long and lacked structure, I’d rather just get all my thoughts out after watching a video like this than say “first!” or make a joke y’know?
But also, we shouldn't cross people for having traits that we find uncomfortable or inconvenient, people have weird quirks and they shouldn't be ostracized for not being ashamed of who they are. wish there was an animated show about oddballs and outsiders finding community, sounds like a really good theme.
Also, I don't think he's that annoying. I've seen worse sidekicks. Yeah some of his gags are kinda gross, or sometimes he's kinda pathetic, but that's like his thing. I don't love him but he's fine by me. He's saying it like it's as as Paimon or Happy from Fairy Tail. And happy is actually cute and all but after 100 episodes you just want to deck him in the face
It’s such a shame to this day that Nickelodeon never got a chance to nominate the owl house at the kids choice awards for favorite cartoon which is still disappointing 😞.
it would've lost to spongebob bc they're rigged anyways (spongebob's won every year except 2008 since the early 2000s, only lost in 2008 to the also-nick avatar), and the last time the kca's have had any older-skewing story driven shows was when gravity falls and steven universe were nominated in 2016. ever since then, it's just been the yellow sponge, loud house, toddler titans, that stupid alivn and the chipmunks cartoon, gumball until about 2021, and whatever the recent cartoon that has a big marketing push and then gets cancelled like a year later
@@SpinelFan64 exactly. I was so glad that avatar had won in 2008 cause I was one of the fans who voted for it to win instead of the sponge. But sense then it’s just been trash at the kca, However even if the owl house wouldn’t win due to it being rigged, it would still get the most votes like how that time in 2014 when Phineas and ferb had gotten the most votes than the sponge but still didn’t win anyway.
There rigged though no kid thinks SpongeBob is the entertainment of the century it’s lost once to the fantastic avatar the last Airbender and it didn’t even get read out it was just a pop up
@@abbynew4188 tell me about it is so rigged that in my korra fic nick got exterminus for heresy against the Avatar Korra- It is I that seek balance, and avatar protects
It's impossible to overstate just how hard this show stuck the landing. Watching and Dreaming might be the best 55 minutes of television that Disney Channel ever had the privilege of airing. Dana's team pulled a rabbit out of their hat on this one, I mean it's actually just a straight up miracle.
i can 100% confirm that enchanting grom fright is what really grew toh’s fandom, i was there since episode one and after grom fright premiered the fandom EXPLODED, so many people decided to pick up the show after that episode it was kinda crazy, i’d say another point the fandom shifted was around hunters introduction, after him there was a noticeable change in the fandom, and i feel bad cause it lead me to never really finishing the series 😭
Considering the fact they are neck-deep in financial hot water, Disney is in DESPERATE need of successes. Sadly, there's the fact that Florida's current government wants to dispose of ANYTHING LGBT related; which probably includes Owl House
@COY.OUR.BOY919Willow's pan, Amity is a lesbian, Masha's also nonbinary, and even setting aside the LGBTQ+ rep.. It's the story of a girl who feels lost, and discovers being-understood.
I kinda owe my chosen name to TOH, it impacted me so much in a period when i was just full of doubt and questions about myself, and thanks to Luz and the gang now we have Lucía (me), this show is really special to me and will always have a place in my heart
For all their talk about being inclusive, Disney was REALLY quick to axe the show with the bi main character. Also, I love Willow's slow transformation into a pro athlete who gets work done. She's so cool.

It wasn't because of the gay stuff. If anything it was the opposite. They likely canceled it because it wasn't overtly gay enough and didn't have nonstop political bs in it. Like how amphibia was canceled, it was too good and didn't bow to most of the bs Disney does these days. It was making the crap shows look bad and showed that there could be a good show with representation that wasn't just nonstop "I'm gay, oh did I tell you I'm gay" one dimensional narrative. It also didn't push the far left political bs they make literally every show have these days.
Three months ago I decided to watch The Owl House. At first I wasn't sure about it, but it was a good decision. many things here simply touched my heart: the plot, characters, world and music. For me, these aspects made The Owl House series enjoyable and interesting to watch. Not everything was perfect but I'm still happy that I discovered this cartoon. I entered this fandom, which in my opinion is one of the friendliest fandoms I have ever met, not all people in The Owl House fan community were good people but I really liked this community. I won't forget this series for a long time. I blinked my eyes and my comment became long, I had already written a lot and I just wanted to say that I liked the series. I could talk more about the various aspects that come to mind, but I don't see the point in writing so many of my own thoughts under a review that presents the entire series well. in your material you talk great about her, both about the advantages and disadvantages, I can really agree with many things. I'm glad I could watch such well-researched material. Good job ! I apologize in advance for my not very good English.
Yo same thing here I finally decided to give it a watch to see what the hype was about and I was wow this show is amazing I also have to give a shout out to amphibia to for getting me back into story driven cartoons witch made me interested for the owl house I love both of these shows
On your nitpick on the season 1 finale. How Luz can use magic without glyphs? Owlbert. That little bird is a boss. Just like how Hunter can use magic while wielding Flapjack, another birdboss.
The irony that disney back in 2005 wanted to have a IP that was there own Harry Potter to fight against WB. That's why they temporarily acquired rights for Narnia. But they failed to tell the story in movies, cut down on things from the books including religious things. although I am not religious myself. Now they have had the chance to own a series of rich fantasy that is not only original, diverse, LGBTQ stuff and lovely. But instead they throw it out the window. This could be the Harry Potter series they wanted. I can't stand them.
They're making a Percy Jackson tv show, and the book series (also known as the Riordanverse) is really diverse in its representation. Percy is a neurodivergent boy struggling in an abusive household. He is very bi-coded, and so is his girlfriend Annabeth. Many of the characters are queer, like Nico di Angelo. They even had a bisexual main character named Lester. Annabeth's cousin who stars in Magnus Chase is pansexual. He has a boy/girlfriend named Alex Fierro who is genderfluid (sometimes he/him but mostly she/her). They also have a spin-off called Kane Chronicles where both main characters are mixed siblings and one faces systematic racism. Sadie Kane, who is the main character is polyamorous. It's not that similar to the owl house, but you should give it a try if you want a diverse story.
I think that in some ways, The Owl House is purposefuly calling back to Harry Potter - and managing the story a lot better (and I'm saying that as Harry Potter fan).
The part I don't understand is the financial and reputational fumble. Disney has been taking L after L for years now, and people are losing interest. Say what you will about the anti-queer backlash - the Owl House fandom would start a fucking war if it meant keeping the show alive. That kind of feverishly dedicated consumer base could have kept them afloat for years! Why not milk it for all it's worth?
why season 1 was at the pace it was is because it was created BEFORE the cancellation by Disney, it was at the pace that Dana wanted it to be. how the show was gonna function, it was at a pace for the original series length. remember that the show was gonna have 5 seasons, each being the length of season 1 & 2. "season" 3 was supposed to fill in those gaps in a short amount of time so Disney could get it over and done with while also finishing the show off. (im assuming to get less backlash.) Dana can't even continue the show in book/comic form if she wanted to as Disney has the rights to the show. Dana left Disney when she had finished working on the show. I hope that we can eventually get a full length version of the series or a spinoff to help explain things better. i'd like to say that this is an amazing video :) one more thing, be gay do witchcraft /ref :p
Wait, did you say that it was originally going to have 5 seasons? Didn't Ms. Terrace say that the original plan was that the show was going to be 3 seasons? If I'm wrong at that, you can correct it.
hooty's got that charm hes annoying but in a funny way and alex purposely made hooty's voice be the way it is, he said once at a con that hooty's voice sounds like mickey mouse thats been thrown in a washing machine and spun around 100 times
I remember the day I saw the trailer for this show. I also remember watching the pilot in the car the DAY it dropped and instantly feeling charmed by what it had to offer. Three years later and I don’t regret what this show did for me and everyone else. I cried at the finale… even when it had been cut horrendously short. They still have us a wonderful finale. ❤ thank you Owl House… thank you
At the very least it is believed that Disney realized they fucked up treating TOH they way they did, effectively leaving money on the table by cutting it short. I don't want a revival, as I am afraid it could cause further damage but I do hope Disney will be more patient with promising serialized shows in the future.
It's pretty safe to say that Bob Iger (new Disney CEO) cancelled TOH, because of his well known hate of LGBT representation. He also cut advertisement for Strange World for the same reason. It was already in development when he took over, so he couldn't cancel it outright. He also acted very shady during the passing of Florida's don't say gay law. Etc. Also, TOH was cancelled right after the Grom episode. Season 2 was already greenlit. And they barely got the specials to wrap up. The colector was added to the plot later because the intended story didn't have time to wrap up. A lot of rewriteing happened. That's why some plot points were kinda dropped, like what is the owl beast.
@@FreeHandleForGuest Thanks for the correction. My understanding was that he was involved somehow, but I can't remember where I heard that now. I should be better at fact checking claims before repeating them. Thank you.

This is totally one my favourite Disney shows ever made! It has been a whole year since i started watching it on Disney+. And i really got hooked into it, thabks to it's sense of representations! (as someone being autistic myself) IT'S SO UNFAIR that Disney just cut a gem like this short! But either way i am eternally grateful that it exists! Not to mention that in spite of time constraint it managed to pull of such a perfect ending!
fun fact King Dad the Titans look is supposed to make him an Owl House fan boy. the movement where he brings Luse back to life is the fans supporting the show and getting the spaciels made.
I only found the show around fall last year but it’s one of my favorite shows ever. It just so beautiful. It always helped me find something out about myself, that being me being asexual and to be proud about it.
Disney doesn't deserve owning The Owl House for how they ended up treating it, i really hope they learn from said mistake. I'm glad they got to finish it but they definitely wanted to cover more chapters. Thankfully despite Disney's stupid mistake, the end result doesn't feel rushed, at least to me. Still wish we could have seen what those hinted at adventures were though. Love The Owl House and if i ever see a DVD box set for it, definitely will buy to support it.
I want this show back 😭 I absolutely enjoyed the finale, but the corporate reasons it ended are extremely frustrating. Their future designs are adorable so I could see a future series like Steven universe. I definitely hope so. Also immaculate taste in music. There’s always that one video that makes you subscribe to a channel and this was that video, well done.
It was downright criminal what Disney did to this cartoon, from entire episode being leaked more than once to simply giving them 2 episodes to finish a whole story. The team did a miracle job in closing as much plot as they could, but on lives the creator said a LOT they had plan had been cut. And then Primos came out not long before the finale of TOH and was a disaster, Disney really has favorites and put on an axe too fast on a cartoon who's special episodes got million of views in less than 3 hours. And the sad thing is, a season renewed will not fix this, because the whole story was finished in the finale. To me it is best than not having an ending at all, but we'll never get close deleted episodes back. There had been rumours a spin off series of Eda as a teenager may happen, but to me is just Disney trying to save face. Because it realized they killed a massive show, mostly because 2 girls kissed
There are currently no plans to do anything with this show. If it hadn't had as many viewers on RU-vid as it did they probably would've just thrown the rights for the Owl House in Dana's face! Now that all of their projects are underperforming they might change their minds one day but until then I think it's best if we just turn our backs on this studio.
I remember first watching this show at first it sorta gave me like a Harry Potter aspect. I even seen other fan art of what would happen if owl house crossover with Danny Phantom, which I know would be truly amazing✨👻.
@@eow4317 I like that in a way, Luz isn't pushed as "the savior of The Isles". They all rebuilt together, as a society, a family, a friendship, a love. The show loved breaking the status quos since either Luz's entire "I choose to stay" or Willow's change in track. A show that questions the Status Quo and explores deeper to see w h y the "Status Quo is God" trope isn't always a good way out. I think why I'm enjoying Lower Decks is because it also embraces the "Status Quo isn't an end-all". Establish your Status Quo, and see why it's needed to change.
i absolutely adore how relatable luz is in terms of the shows target audience. the target audience is people who dont fit the status quo- who would be absolutely enamored with a terrifying nightmare world, immediately become dazzled by the new characters, and overall just love the change. luz latches onto the chance to escape reality, and holy shit thats what everyone who adores this show would do
The main thing that bothered me about the final episode was the fact that the Collector went off on his own. Their whole character was built around the idea that they were this poor (uber powerful) kid who got tricked and was alone for a very long time. I would have been much more satisfied with an ending that included the Collector in the main group, finally happy and accepted the way the rest of them were. Instead he ends up roaming the stars alone to "grow up"? It made no sense to me.
The reason this show was never going to fly on mainstream cable, was because it pointed out EXPLICITLY the problems with America, and therefore was going to ruffle some feathers. It would've probably been better off as an indie show
I think you're reading into it too much. Maybe I'm just dense but I never saw much social commentary in this show. It's mostly character driven and focuses and so the primary commentary of the show is mostly focus on just telling kids to be genuine to who they are and grow into they want to be rather than who they are told to be.
It had been a while since I watched a cartoon that I felt as personally connected to as I did with Adventure Time and Avatar. The Owl House filled the hole that those two shows left beautifully. Such a wonderful series filled with lovable dynamic characters, a fantastic setting, great and interesting lore, and an epic and amazing story. I’m so grateful for everyone who had a part in making this show what it was.
I remember seeing a brand new show on Disney (TOH) and I fell in love with it instantly. Yes Disney sure did screw it up but it was still amazing how they could end it. I will never get tired of this show and I am glad the last episodes Dana did a F U Disney. All I am trying to say is thank you for this amazing show
I like hooty because he’s barely there. Too much of him would be too but he’s justtttt the right amount. Plus everyone else thinks he’s annoying. I get why you don’t like him though he’s definitely not my favorite 😅 KKKOHD is top episodes for me because i am one of the fans lumity has a chokehold on, plus harpy eda + king powers + ratio… i can handle some high pitches hooty for that! Btw great video! Love the editing style and commentary on one of my favorite shows ever (and got me super interested into animation!!)
As a Amphibia fan, i was suprised that Owl house got only 3 episodes for the last season. Owl house is much more popular (not better) but of course Disney gets mad when two mfs kiss

2:20 I *immediately* recognised that song, I absolutely love the owl house and good kid, and if anyone was wondering the name is Mimi's delivery service😁
I just binged it over a two day period for the first time and I hate that it got cancelled. Its one of the cutest shows, while having deep themes and dark imagery. Belos is terrifying and the fact he still considered himself human was disgusting. Luminty was something I didn't see at first but definitely enjoyed and always went, "They are soooo gay," in my head before they were together. Vee's human design was adorable. I wish this wasn't cancelled.
A show i'd really love you to check out is Camp Camp! it's a lot better and more mature than other adult cartoons. It isn't afraid to be crass or out there but there's a certain amount of restraint they have. It never goes too far. That, and it makes time to actually have some genuine heart. Season 1 is like season 1 of The Owl House in a sense that theirs bits of story that becomes more and more apparent as the series progresses, its story, characters and hidden lore so so interesting and it’s filled with mystery, epic story arks and emotional moments that I’d seriously call it one of the best animated shows ever made, too bad it’s criminally underrated, not many people are all that aware of it, despite is having a fandom that adores it.
Hm, fair and valid points and opinions, this was a very well done Video, I could fully see where you were coming and could agree in some areas, while I am still curious and would’ve liked to see where things could’ve gone if the Great Cut didn’t happen, I do appreciate what we got and what it inspired. By the way, about Hooty, I don’t really think his Voice is that bad, I have actually heard worse, besides I was under the impression that Hooty was a Fan-Favorite or something. Anyway, I have three Questions for you: Do you know of MoringMark? Have you done a Video about Amphibia already? If so, then how about doing a Video about Pibby?
How did Dana Terrace saw the series ending? You said the finale we got was way different from what Dana wanted, but I was unable to find anything online. Just curious about how it could have ended Ps: nice essay :D
A lot of things wouldve been different. For example, the collector was only added because of the show getting cut short. Instead we wouldve got the archivists. Plus a lot of plot points (especially ones in s3) wouldve had more time to simmer and build up. Its important to note that s2 A of TOH was written BEFORE the show was decided to be cut short; everything in s2 beyond that wouldve had to be rushed more because of that, such as Belos’ reveal in s2 ep12, everything about the titan trappers and kings reveal, and more Also, its confirmed that we wouldve got an ep diving deep into Hootys backstory, got explanations of Evelyns past & link to Eda (perhaps in a flashback ep with young Belos in it), a better explanation about the titan (like in the scene where Luz meets him in s3 but more in depth), got to meet more of the coven heads, more time for amitys plot with her dad and rebellion, stuff about Steve ✨ and most importantly a final confrontation with Hunter and Belos (I hoped atleast)
@@chumley04 Half of the things you said was just made up there's no source that we would have got the archivists there's no titan trappers promis and every picture in hollow mind was probably going to be animated if you were so sure you can give me sources you should at least get contact with the subreddit every thing you said is just fans wishlists there is no way we would've got more in depth season 3 when everything in season 3 wasn't going to happen. Dana said she got more creative with season 3 than she was planed everyone mourning about season 3 and they would have had a perfect show but looking back to the owl house season 1 and amphibia season 3 I'm not sure if we going to get something better than we got. And the rushed accusation is weird where the season 3 pacing is amazing and better than season 1 where they "exactly aligned with their plan" Stop living by hypothesis we might get something better but we might also get something worse or just as good we might never know.
@@thefirstone4864 Busy rn but ill respond anyway. The archivists, ep about Hootys backstory, stuff abt Steve, screentime for other coven heads and more info about Evelyn, Belos and Eda as a kid have all been confirmed over time, especially in the post Owl House stream Dana and crew did a while back. Sure the other things were events that probably wouldve happened but yea *not confirmed* (prob shouldntve written it out like that).
I don’t want a 4th season to unravel the perfectly tied bow we got, I wish we had a full season 3, I wouldn’t mind a books tho, maybe belos’s diary or the good witch azura book
Agreed Yes, more episodes would’ve been nice but the ending was still satisfying and I’m glad it was even able to get that. As well as the amazing epilogue . A comic, as you said probably wouldn’t hurt though .
I understand why someone might hate Hooty, but I don't understand how someone could *continue* to hate Hooty. I hated him for the first couple episodes, but he quickly became my favourite character! ... Okay, like 7th favourite character. The point is, the dislike turned around quick. x3
Yeah he is annoying but in a charming way that made me fall in love with him. And his relationship with Lilith was just so adorable with these 2 weirdos just chilling together lol
I didn't watch the Owl House when it first came out, but i ironically watched the season 3 when it first came out, i thought the collector was a version of luz because my sister told me there was a character like that in the show 💀... i truly love the show because i finally watched it on my own, without any outside opinions, luz being this fun character is why i fell in love, but lumity is why i continue to love it, also the story line was so intresting to follow, especially as a teenager, because we never saw that in the shows we were raised on (cursed barney for me) its a truly amazing show and i hope that it gets renewed, because screw disney for cancelling it.
You know I always wondered what the original story would've been. Since Disney had cancelled the show during season 1 and only agreed to 3 episodes for season three... Some things had to be changed The collector originally wasnt going to exist but was added in in order to movd the plot forward
at 15:03 when he says in this ep she can use magic with out the glyphs is wrong because in cannon humans can use magic with out glyphs is because humans can use the palismans magic so Luz used Owlbert to activated the glyphs
OBJECTION! You say that Disney would d have been the best place for it, as others would shut it down faster, but I propose: Indie animation. No 'style' it has to fit, no regulations that have to be worked around. Wonder how different it would be that way.
I believe Disney canceled it because it didn't follow the book and that the main character luz go through so much physically and mentally that we can relate to her because it's something that we are going through today like in part of the video you said that she chose to stay and arrive at her destination but now we can see as a audience that the director wanted luz to go through something more deep than any other Disney movie and show the journey to be a hero not the destination and to have this character learn what means that its not the destination it is the journey that you go on that learn a lot from even though the journey will be difficult physically but most importantly mentally and that is why i understand why the series was cancelled early but we both know that this series and luz is not over actually let me rephrase that we both know that the journey of the series and the journey of the protagonist luz is not over and the journey of this series and the characters is only the beginning
Hootie isn't for everyone, with that said, I'll get to the point. I'm going to say it, The Owl House is probably the last great animation from Disney we'll see due to its unique original story telling. It's not a reimagined story for peofit but it's own, which is something Disney needs to learn from. Here we're introduced to a 'new character' Luz, Eda and all the diverse cast of the Boiling Isles, ((kikimora fan here)) and who they become in the three short seasons. If they do decide to reboot the show, not soon as all great shows take time and development to, well, develop. My question is, are we going to see families like in Boruto where the characters have aged and a new villain emerge. ((Not pointing fingers -lila-)) (I think that was her name) or are they going to try to bring back Belos in some recap sort of way? I'd love to see a taller King.
Great thing, the reason Luz can use magic in the season 1 finale is because she has the staff, similar to how she performs a spell earlier in the season with Amity's wand.
Hunter is a really good character he is really well written but poor Flapjack ( my favorite character is Luz tho) also Luz went through a lot in the last 72 hours of the show ( season 3) starting at halloween she went through flapjack’s death and hunter getting possessed to her coming back to the isles to discovering that the collector was ruining the isles and playing a game using her life on the boiling isles and Luz finally got to meet her palisman to a few minutes later waking up to a nightmare but with the help of amity, hunter, willow and gus escaping out of it to finally seeing eda and king again ( since king’s tide for seeing luz and since clouds on the horizon at the very beginning for eda) but then playing games with the collector and having a chat with the collector to maybe change his point of view of everything to luz dying to save the collector but coming back thanks to king’s dad and defeating belos once and for all
Nobody in the history of ever: Luz: Watched eda almost get petrified Discovered someone was pretending to be her, living in herplace with her mom Watched the collector defeat belos by tapping his forehead Watched the collector tear apart the room Forced to return home after trying to save everyone Promised her mom to leave the one place that let's her be herself Watched a friend get possessed Watched a friend die The friend that died was killed by the possessed friend The possessor was the overlord murderer they're fighting and was thought to be dead Returns to find home sparkly ✨️ Literally lives in a nightmare for a sec Meets collector Talks to collector Teams up with collector Dies? Comes back?? Is fluffy??? HAS MAGIC IMBUED INTO HER BODY THROUGH MEETING THE TITAN HIMSELF??!?
Like you, I feel this is probably the best animated series ever done. I do also dislike that Disney cancelled it because it didn't fit their brand. You've hit on so much in this video and yet you've only scratched the surface. Animation, drama, emotions, etc. It hits on so many points. One moment you feel happy, then you feel sad, then you feel happy again or anxious or so many other emotions. I can't think of another cartoon out there that took me from episode 1 to the end and kept me wanting more. I've watched more videos of this series than any other out there. I keep looking for new content and I follow any notices on the show that I can find. Which is weird for me because I don't do social media. My hope is that one day Dana Terrace will take the Owl House and create a new series which will take us into the next Generation. MorningMark has written several terrific Owl House Comics here on RU-vid which are both funny and enjoyable. It would be nice to see them team up and work out a 2nd generation. Also, she should write an Azure Series. I'd love to see Azure face Hecate at the bog of immediate regret.
Video was great and I agreed with almost all of your points (aside from hooty!). One thing that kind of annoyed my was how at seemingly random points there would be a random montage to introduce the next song, that kind of just felt unnatural. Keep making videos its great!
I was expecting a well researched journey into why Disney dropped the show, the impact it's had on company and community, and just how much potential Disney lost. Maybe even a comparison between tOH and some other titles that Disney kept in the past.
@@pjdixon6199lots of people do. those shows have as much soul put into them as the owl house. they really need more attention, because they are very underrated.
15:01, I think Luz can do magic because of Owlbert, we've seen her do magic via Stringbean in S3 and Hunter turn from magicless to being able to do his speed magic thing when he absorbed flapjack, so I think it's cuz she's holding onto owlbert she can use magic. The reason I believe Eda can't use magic in S2 even with Owlbert is cuz she can't directly use it with the owl curse thing just a personal headcanon based on my observations
They should've had Amity as someone who was brainwashed and had her memory altered by her greedy stuck-up mother. She could’ve acted the way she did due to programming and fear of being punished. Willow was allowed to be bullied because Amity had forgotten much about their friendship and made to act badly toward her. Maybe Amity snitched on her siblings because her mother took out her frustrations on Amity. Due to embarrassment about how the twins turned out. Amity might not desired to hurt Lus, she could've asked Bump to pretend to dissect Luz to Willow confess. At the convention, she would’ve secretly hoped Luz would give up. The real reason why Amity didn't like Luz would be because she reminded her a lot of her siblings whom she blames for being partly the cause of her suffering.
I thought disney cancelled it early because they said they didnt want to keep spending money on their televieion animation department during covid, and Amphibia was already airing for a while before owl house started; so amphibia was already nearer to completion by comparison.
They likely canceled it for 3 reasons. First, it was too good and was making other shows look bad (because they are lazy), 2nd it wasn't overtly gay/political enough (like most of their other shows and movies are nowadays) and the writer didn't want to sacrifice the story for that bs. Third, Disney wanted to push their trash products and couldn't with actual good shows actively going. Basically if the people have something to compare it to then they will realize how bad the other works are. I believe amphibia was canceled for similar reasons, only difference being that amphibia wasn't gay at all instead of not being overtly gay enough.
It's funny you mention Hooty being insufferable, because I usually hate that kind of comic relief characters. And I can definitely relate with "how can I be the only one hating me" after discovering I am apparently the only one thinking that The Legend of Korra would be a million times better without Bolin. But Hooty isn't *just* insufferable: he's insufferable *and everybody agrees he is*. The show isn't trying to hide that he's thick as a brick, or trying to make him look better, they just show that he truly cares for the protagonists, and really enjoys being included, and he does really help Lilith when she's at her worst. They show you can count on him to be there. It is still truly weird they chose to make the True Lumity Episode revolve around HIM, that's right. But I think somehow he works as a character even with *that* voice. Also that *was* junk mail, in the end #spoilers
There's some hot takes, but this is a great video overall. The music fits so well, montages are great, and it's a great documentary if you didn't year me the first time.
People tend to forget they got canceled before writing/making Season 2b onwards, not that they were canceled after season 2 so they only had the 3 episodes to make up.
Disney cutting the owl house short and then seeing the numbers the last 3 episodes got it so funny to me, like they had struck gold but cut it short cuz a wlw pairing was too risky to them
