In the comments I read a lot of hate on James Corden - I only wanted to make fun of this bizzare encounter of two completely different worlds. Julian himself said in an interview that he "loves James Corden", I guess he understands that this is JUST a late night show, where people want to have fun...
James cordon is a terrible excuse for a human being in general. Nothing to do with this clip. He is just a piece of shit. You can easily look this up about him, this isn't even some "hot take" or anything. Pretty common knowledge for anyone even slightly aware of the bts happenings in Hollywood. It's actually surprising that you did all this work to put together this video but were unaware of this fact about him.
He looks exactly like I feel when I’m in the beginning stages of acute opiate withdrawl aka hell. You could be with the best people in the best place at the best time and still be completely miserable. No one could understand that unless they experience it first hand. It really looks like that’s what’s going on here
I met Julian on the street in NYC and told him I was a big fan. He was gracious enough to stop and chat with me for a few seconds. He's a very genuine and nice guy. James high energy fakeness probably makes him uncomfortable.
People in the show bussiness are all the time to get approved and thus they probably fake a lot of feelings and that makes a person exaggerate in their expressions, i believe many people will get in the end of the day and think: this isn't me, why i have to try so hard? :P
@@arlofleenor1838he's wearing a fuggn. Military combat vest !!!! That's not chill not Kool. Not. A. Good sign. Red flags should go up not a. Role model.
edie Julian makes songs like pyramid of bones and this cat puts orange slices into his pockets... my point with the second comment was to demonstrate how extreme you’d have to take it to be truly independent of the system. We live in a time when wealth consolidation is the most extreme it has ever been. One talks about it, one is the court jester. God forbid someone turn trash into something that’s beautiful.
He should have had the integrity to not go on this show. Very few celebrities have avoided going on the James Corden show. It seems they are harassed by their agents/managers to go on or else...
When I was a teenager I met Julian and Ryan Gentles in the breakfast room of the hotel we were staying at (it was my sisters wedding, my parents went all out on the hotel, very swanky). Being about 14, I was fckin shaking when they sat down at the table next to me and my mum, I genuinely couldn't speak - HOLY SH** That's MFin Julian Casablancas! My mum had no idea who Julian was but she had heard me playing The Strokes for years clearly. Halfway through breakfast I cracked, I had to talk! I butted in on their conversation like a moronic teenager does - "Hi, sorry, can I get your signature?" or something equally as lame. I will never forget Ryan's look at me lol. He stared me dead in the eyes, spoon in hand, and said "Can you at least wait til we finish?". I learnt a lot of respect for peoples space and privacy from that single moment. Julian laughed I think, but either way he was much nicer and calmer. Sure enough, he diffused all my panic by asking if they could bring their table up next to ours (remember, it was just my mum and I). We sat together for maybe 10 minutes, mainly me shaking with awe and my mum being the wonderful woman she is, Julian being a true gentleman, and Ryan equally so. Afterwards I got my picture taken with Julian on my mums Nokia N90 lmao (the HEIGHT of technology at the time), and he signed a business card of hers as it was all we had hahaha, oh man it still cracks me up! So lame. Anyway, the picture as you can imagine looked like Mario pixelated in 1988, and I eventually lost the business card with Julian's signature. But what I DO have - is the memory... And what a guy. A true gentleman. Thank you Julian, not just for caring about an idiot teen fan, but also my mother, and just being an all round awesome guy. You are a true hero. Much love to you and yours. X
This whole conversation is Julian thinking he's giving a simple honest answer and somehow this guy always finds a way to bring it down as though he was just waiting to make up a punch line. The reason these types of shows will die out is because people want real conversation which is why Podcasts are so popular. It's honest, direct and focused on what's said.. everything james did was because he's trying to keep you interested but not too interested
As a person who suffers from sever anxiety I cannot imagine ever being famous and performing live and having to speak to people like this interviewer I’m having chest pain just thinking about it. I feel for Julian
Are u a musician? I was imagining today when I was at work and felt a bit edgy and thinking 'imagine if I was in a band ready to b going on stage ' I can see how drink or tablets get involved.
@@audiowithdrawl5948 some fans are worried now about him going back on the sause as he gets giddy and babbles on in between songs which iv seen him do since touring the voidz 2nd album .whatever the case its up to him .but he said hes ok .
@@waynesilverman3048 Im a huge fan of the strokes & Julian and only go off of what lyrical interpretations to get insights on their personal lives. What’s the situation with those 2, also unfortunate, going through a long relationship break up as well, I can only imagine why’d I do had I have influence & money during a hard mental time like that.
he doesnt seem shy or awkward to me at all, he seems like he can hang with the best of them, someone who cant be caught off guard with some dumb shit. just because you dont play other peoples games doesnt make you awkward. awkward is trying to match other peoples energy and failing.
I don't really understand what happened. He used to be fine before he got big in America. Shows like Gavin and Stacy and the Wrong mans were brilliant pieces of British comedy. It seems like he's been forced to change his comody for an American audience and it's painful
Damn it, i truly feel his pain. It reminded me to Joaquin Phoenix in a certain way. Because they're probably introvert people and this kind of shows just puts pressure on them.
@@brokenwave6125 No exactly, i mean in general situations where Joaquin has to speak in front of a lot of people or in interviews, he seems like the kind of person who don't likes too much attention. That's what i'm referring to.
I love the strokes and Julian is an amazing artist I heard he and his wife got divorced recently so I’m sure he’s suffering on the inside especially since in the new abnormal in one of his songs he says “Juliet I adore” he definitely still has something for her I wish all the best for this man he’s like my top favorite artist like ever
I’ve seen Jules say that mocking his clothes is a big way to get @ him. As soon as Corden opened with “what is this that you have on?”, I knew it was gonna be prime awkwardness.
oml, I’m so glad there’s so many fans of Julian out there. With all those articles talking about how “stupid” and “old” Julian is, it’s nice to know there’s lots of people out there who love him as much as I do :)
Honestly small talk and knowing how to carry yourself in a social interaction is a valuable skill??? And understanding social interaction, it's importance and the psychology behind it is pretty smart. I do get generally a lot of history's geniuses had antisocial tendencies and I don't think it makes them any less bright (you can't be good at everything amirite?) But debatably if it weren't for "society" (along with all the intricate social tendencies we developed) we wouldn't be anywhere as advanced as we are now as a species. I'm what most would call smart and I consider myself pretty socially awkward but I always do my best to communicate and interact with other people because I think it is meaningful and very valuable even if it is just small talk. Not all conversations have to profound to be meaningful. Perhaps we have great masterpieces like the pristine chapel but wouldn't a world without stick figures be sad? Plus you can always look at small talk as "practice" for just talking to people, if that is difficult for you (that's how I like to see it sometimes). Sorry this ended up being so long. Cheers!
James is making him uncomfortable, I almost can feel what he feels like just because I've felt like that before, just like social anxiety about some circumstances that actually make you uncomfortable.
Jillian is just enduring the absurd parade that is television, he playing the game but the whole time aware that he’s in the matrix and they most of the NPC’s around him are not sentient 😆
its a coincidence that i had the same exact type of anxiety that probably is still within me, and strokes is my favorite band. Their music makes special love more important and unforgettable to me.
It’s all fun and games until some guy mindlessly invades your personal space trying to force orange slices into your vest pocket while not grasping how awkward you feel and acting like it’s a normal thing to do. Thanks James.
Also... You can see here and In several other interviews as well, that he Is not confortable with His teeth (real talk) . As soon as he smiles or sees himself In a monitor he immediately covers His teeth with lips and tongue... Physical consequences of the rockstar life... If he doesn't feel right about this matter he can fix it and nobody would think he's not rock n' roll
Blood Sister he’s defo on drugs , ive been a fan for 11 yrs and after all the shit that’s come out recently w his ex wife n some other stuff i just find it hard to support him anymore
Tenía tantas ganas de ir a verlos en el Foro Sol y no pude, me dió tanta rabia, pero bueno ya será, soy super fan desde que los escuché hace como... 12 años aprox, es tal vez mi banda favorita.
This is painful. Julian is a high class musician and madly talented person with great sense of style, true to himself and very aspirational. That Corden bloke is just an annoying chipmunk no matter what he wears. Does he try to go for lovable rogue or cute brat or what? Because ugh it's not working. Why do we have these self-centered ignorant ppl on the telly still?
Julian knows who is in the Elite and wants to get out so bad, i can see it in His eyes. He lost his wife and now he wants to find s peace in drugs all over again. I can feel his anxiety and depression. You arent alone Jules, fame isnt everything and you know it. Im praying for you.
Good point. He can see the world for what it truly is. Sadly he is paying the price for it because he is clearly not going down without a fight. While james corden and others have blindly given in to these demonic entities for fame, talent, and wealth, Julian had chosen to reject the blindfold or possibly took it off at one point because he could see through the wickedness behind the mainstream media. He's Brave without a doubt. But he's in for the fight of his life and through God's Mercy and Grace he will emerge victorious. He is fighting against wickedly vicious and dark forces but God Almighty is the God of Glory and when all is said and done The Lord will Wipe their wickedness from the face of the Earth. Glory to God!
@@prototypicalarchetypeofdef7050 AMEN!! We need to pray for all the ones who want to get out so bad of this false happiness! In the name of Jesus they will be free indeed!! 🙌🏻
@@prototypicalarchetypeofdef7050 i was a fan and now i can understand all the pain in all of his song lyrics i feel so pitty for him my heart heaches for his soul just like the Lord does with all the ones who are lost in their sin but dont know how to get out of it 😭😭😢😢
The reason it’s awkward is because he’s putting a lot of unnecessary attention on Julián. Probably moreso than most of the other people Corden interviews. So that, combined with Julians shyness just creates this clusterfuck. Corden needs to do some homework on the guests he has, rather than trying to make a laughing stalk out of them.
