I do accept wholeheartedly that you possess in depth understanding of this reason. The infiltration of Lashkar etc in the Pak Army is so deep that there may be some lashkar recruits who would be believing that are themselves Pak Army. USA might be supporting Pak for its many benefits and might be achieving some targets as well but what about use of tactical nuclear weapons in the region ? Is it not in the interest of USA that such nuclear weapons are under US control in lieu of innumerable bounties showered on Pak ..

Emad, it was really tragic what you witnessed on that night, however in the last 12 years people have experienced worst than that in the North West of Pakistan, and it was all because of the western forces in Afghanistan but no one talked about separation from PAKISTAN, I am sorry to say that the creation of Bangladesh was also an international agenda and the Bengali leadership and some groups (militants)were already prepared for that. Sheikh Mujeeb went for separation without thinking for a single moment about the two provinces of Pakistan namely Balochistan and Khyberpakhtunkhwa (NWFP). Zulfiqar Ali Buttho had majority in Sindh and Punjab in 1971 and the other two provinces of the West Pakistan were not on his side but Mujeeb being a majority leader did not even think about them and went for the separation of East Pakistan against Zulfiqar Ali Buttho, which I think was an utter injustice with the rest of the people of Pakistan. Some forces in East Pakistan played the same role which their like minded played in Bosnia and more recently they tried to play in North West Pakistan. What were/are those forces, to know them needs a little bit of research.

All said and done fact remains the same that pakistan is a mightful country.
