@@BIWPryalas I mean that's most characters in D2 tbh. Typically the main role they're hired for just sounds similar to the normal voice. Look at Cayde, Ikora, Zavala (Lance), Ana Bray etc.
More moments of guardians interacting with people from the last city, actually feeling the people they’re protecting would be so great and feel more impactful
Agreed! I’m 1000% down for us interacting more with the last city inhabitants or just having cutscenes of us walking amongst the people like that. Really puts into perspective what being a Guardian is all about.
Hearing Keith David brought losing Lance back in a huge way. This game made me care about an imaginary blue man and the person who spoke as him so much I cry at his absence. A Titan's answer to the oblivion? I am NOT done LIVING.
Brett Dalton is killing it as the Witness's voice, "Your Guardians use is yet to be determined, we're in need of a God-killer". Love more Witness content & it's awesome it looks like we're gonna talk to it more like we did in the past
@@dankerbell interesting, and yeah I could definitely tell the masculine voice was more pronounced in this showcase which usually only comes out when they get very angry or emotional so I imagine we’ll be pissing off the witness quite a lot in this expansion 😂
Keith's voice has a darker tone and I love it. After everything we've been through in the last couple of years it makes sense to me for Zavala to sound slightly different.
Everyone's talking about how cool it is to see the Warlock walking through the streets of the Last City, but I find it just as cool to see the Eliksni walking around too. Seeing these alien races we've allied with, fully integrating and interacting with our society is something we need so much more of!
That would probably be narrative breaking as we don't know how 'humans' feel towards the Eliksni. It honestly wouldn't be a good feeling considering the Eliksni forced Humanity into the Last City. Probably similar to the Sangheili from Halo
i think the cutscenes are higher quality because there has been just more time to add effects and render them out, the extra 4 months made a big difference
@@cakemanjefferson9893 weren't both delayed or later than normal as well though? Seems to be the case that whatever bungie sets they need 3-6 more months to actually finish
The witness is only getting cooler to me. That line “we are in a need of a god killer” gave me chills. Realistically we would be the ultimate disciple. I know we won’t have the choice to choose a side but it would be a pretty cool to see what kind of powers we would have as a disciple.
@@Gunnyg77 yeah that’s exactly how I feel about. It would be a very similar scenario because our guardians turn to the darkness would be very much based on the temptation of more power exactly like Anakin
Pyramidiem enemy's language sounds a lot like the corpus language from warframe in a way and I love that because it sounds brutal but honest. Added note I love how everything is but broken but visible, I feel like the witness is just the definition of the guy who wants to fix something that is not broken
Hearing Admiral Anderson as Zavala is a great fit!! Can't wait to see more of Zavala's character interactions with Cayde and Ikora, that is the reunion I've been waiting for
When I first saw the Destiny trailers way back I loved the way the Warlock looked (like in 9:37) with the Prodigal Hood. I said to myself "I want to look like that!" I'm definitely rocking that going into the final shape! I'm so excited!!!
@@FlashesSoccer011 i think most of em are def needed. Some are completely wild , like not being able to grapple melee after shooting but overall it’s ight.
Can we have a noodle shop in the last city, that is a world vendor? Basically, you earn a reputation with the city itself. Think of it like fishing. You get a "bounty." There's a kids' birthday party, your ghost leads you there, you cast a class ability, or super. Maybe there's a hurt eliksni who just found refuge. He needs healing with a solar grenade. As you gain reputation, the city likes you more. Once you reach higher ranks, you get shaders, a cosmetic called "peoples champion" set. In the end, tiers, you still get ascendant shards, but maybe a guardian died, and they were able to scavenge it before they ran away. You're helping the people, and they are trying to help us. Maybe it could be good for new lights. You help the city, small missions to get your light up. You feel strong with the backing of the people, and now you want to try a more dangerous adventure.
fantastic idea everyone loves these big heroic storylines but MAAAAAN they get tiresome most of our time we should just be GUARDIANS then the big moments would have MORE impact
I never usually cry at video games, infact I don't think I ever have, sometimes I feel emotional when I finish a game, but I just know aomthing is going to happen in the final shape that will make me cry, I've been playing this game for years, and finally being able to destroy the darkness, this will be a very emotional moment for many fans
I've preordered today. Well, I pretty much had to since im gong to attempt the Day1 Raid, but TFS looks really promising now. F*cking hope it delivers too
i feel like the body parts give the impression of the suffering the witness wants to end, like the idea that its the one being reached to. However the hands also reach to us, to prevent the future that contradicts existence.
From the Arbiter to Commander Zavala. Love hearing Keith Davidson as Zavala and was a really good choice. Will never forget my childhood with Lance. Lance will always be my commander. Rest is Paradise Lance Reddick 🫡
He's frantically scribbling right now, looking like the dude with the red string everywhere on the corkboard. He is either going to 100% figure out the language before the release, or he will be really close.
Every new cutscene they showed looks absolutely incredible, both visually and story wise. WE NEED THIS NOW! Also, uhhhh yeah I wanna be a disciple lmao. Also, 3:04 is my favorite shot. Those are all ghosts and we see some ethereal hawk (?) flying at the start of the shot too
The feather and symbiote like darkness was really cool. Makes me wonder if that could be our next enemy. Pure darkness. We’ve seen it in the super black shader, the black heart even gives off this black symbiote vibe, now that clip with the feather. 100/10 bungie I’m preordering now ❤
This may just be extremely stupid speculation and may just be a huge misunderstanding of Zavala’s character but hear me out… The Witness wants to recruit a guardian, if they’re specifically talking about us or just A guardian in general, I don’t know. But Zavala has routinely mentioned that he cannot lose anyone else, that he can’t bear to LET GO of someone again. Do you think the witness will exploit that? To convince him that the final shape will keep everyone safe, free from harm’s way, bring back those that have been lost, his salvation? What if Zavala switches sides in his increasing desperation and joins the witness as a final disciple? Him maybe acting as a final boss for the story or maybe an encounter in the raid would up the emotional weight of this expansion to heights it’s never reached. I’m probably grossly misinterpreting his character and overthinking it, but they can’t just go nowhere with the witness’ attempts at recruitment. Edit: Just saw the launch trailer and… HOLY SH*T I MIGHT BE RIGHT, PLEASE LET ME BE RIGHT
I actually really like this idea. Having a guardian as a boss encounter in a raid would be so cool. Having a mechanic to deal with his ghost like how the cabal suppressed ours in Lightfall. Idc doesn’t have to be Zavala. Give me any guardian as a boss encounter.
12:19 all I can think of here is the live action halo 3 trailer when the camera pans to master chiefs helmet in the grass at the dead of night before cutting to daylight and action
As a somewhat amateur gamedev myself, this got me emotional. What a great reminder of why I set out to make games in the first place. Love to see this level of passion and sincerity from the devs. What a cool little ride this was, and I'm glad to have a group like this to have taken it with.
That "best scene" clip with the aerial to zoom on the feather really reminds me of something I've seen fairly recently. Curious if anyone else might have noticed the inspiration in that scene 🧐
about the scene with the feather, a reminder that bungie did make possibly one of the most terrifying enemies before they started destiny, the flood and every detail related to them, so they can do horror and they can do it pretty well!
these cutscenes gave me goosebumps I hope the campaign isn't the average guardian and friends story, I hope it's comparable to the witch queen story, or even beyond, like a final fantasy or Zelda game
I have always been a huge fan of Keith David. He sounds great as Zavala, he did Lance proud. Btw anyone want to see an interesting movie with Keith in it, they live.
Its a crazy concept but I do genuinely think its a great one They've already said that the raid ties into the finality of the story what if each encounter in the raid has a different vanguard attempting to stop the witness. These characters are said to be insanely powerful so show it to us. Show us Ikora storming into the Raid with Zavala, Shaxx, Saint, Cayde, Saladin. Show us the Vanguard fully using their powers for the first time. Homecoming was so crazy because you could see the Vanguard during the fight and they helped you. Show us Ikora finally unleashing her true level of power on the Witness, show us Ana using her *incredibly powerful* golden gun on the Witness, Show us Cayde's uncanny ability of timing and attacking at exactly the right moment, show us Zavala's immovable power and staggering might, show us Shaxx's tempest and unstoppable cascade of energy, Show us Saladin's flames and iron, show us Elsie's rage and purpose with frozen vigor. Stop putting the best parts of the story in context behind lore cards and let us see it, this is the finale.
DUDE the pale heart looks AMAZING..... i can't wait to get my :) "Hands" on the Final Shape. P.S. I don't know if it's just me but the graphics of D2 look like they have been enhanced for The Final Shape.
Holy shit, imagine how sick it would be if they integrated the new language into the raid somehow. Like a raid boss could yell an alien term and that would tell you which thing you need to dunk or something.
The animation from the beginning and the cutscene from the city makes me want so MUCH some kind of animation... something, please!! Comics or animated series!! PPlleeeaaaassee!
I wish they didn't release info on the Dread and just surprised us. Mainly cuz of the one that you kill and the bug flys out and chases you. Would've been a great surprise lol
