The repetitive assertion that "how dare any western secular democracy tell the brave, holy, perfect Palestinians how to manage" is tiresome. Palestine is yet another failed Levantine state. If Palestine were not on the front line in the confrontation between the modern secular West and religious reactionary East, Palestine would be allowed to devolve into another Somalia, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Libya, Lebanon. The Oslo Agreements assumed that the kleptocratic government of Palestine would agree to simply go away after five years. Not seeing any problem there. UNRWA provides the social services of Palestine. The fellow at 5:00 complains that the US and the EU give Palestine an additional billion dollars a year, to pay for government functions, and demand visible police services. How dare they! Terrorism is Palestine's only export. They once did hit jobs against Western democracies for the Soviet Union; now it's Iran. Palestine, like Syria, is a profoundly violent tribal society. Violence against Israel serves to freeze the political situation. No forward movement, no resolution is possible. Come back in fifty years and the grandchildren of Saed Erekat, Mahmoud Abbas, Hanan Ashrawi will be shouting about jihad, with their snouts in the Palestine cash box. The problem lies in managing the anti-Israel violence. Too much violence runs the risk of an overwhelming Israeli response. No violence means no credibility for the Palestine political leadership. Further complication, there are multiple mafias competing to be seen as indispensable to both Israel and Palestine. Finding and maintaining the level of violence which demonstrates the indispensability of Mahmoud Abbas to the various publics- Israeli, EU, US, Palestinian - is not easy .

The land belongs to Israel. Those who wish to be a part of the state will be given all their rights as Israeli citizens. Those that don't can relocate to Arab lands and Arab countries. Israel isn't Arab land, never was and never will be. The sooner everyone accepts that fact, the sooner everyone will live with dignity. If what I said upsets you, know that the above scenario is exactly the direction this conflict is heading. Anyone who says otherwise is living in a fantasy.
