Everyone wonders how he got his wife when he's musically and artistically gifted, a genuinely kind and caring person, and apparently super quick and coordinated around her. Plus apparently he used to look like Chris before he had his first daughter.
Chris and Ann were inconsistent af. They were only nice to him in the first two or three seasons and then treated him like everyone else did. Leslie and Ron treated Garry with more respect.
im glad garry has his perfect family :) he totally deserves it, hes so kind and even after everyone consistently bullies him at work he still acts nicely towards them and even lets himself be the butt of their joke bc he knows it makes them happy. That dudes made to be a good father.
The money was a nice gift. Jerry (Gary) getting left outside, not so much.😥 Also, I love that Donna is wearing her leopard-print robe with pink cuffs Leslie got her.😉
I really didn't like how rude and disrespectful April was to Jerry EVERYTIME they were together on screen. It felt really overboard and sometimes uncomfortable because of the age difference too.
Definitely. Also tom too. Tom and April and Leslie were the worst to him. Leslie was good at times but still. Love that Ben was kind to him. Ron usually minded his own business with Jerry
When I first watched parks and rec I was younger and thought the Jerry bullying was hilarious. Now I'm older and more jaded and their attitudes towards him just make me sad
that scene where they all have to force themselves to be nice to him while he's giving the presentation after returning from being "mugged" has to be the peak of comedy
Garry/Jerry/Terry/Larry/Lenny’s constant abuse is kinda perfect in the fact that every time someone actually is nice to him, it leaves such a bigger impact lol. His inauguration legit makes me tear up, especially with the pure childlike happiness on his face ❤️
I love how people can't accept a schluby guy having a hot wife. Am I the only person who has seen that dynamic in real life? And in both ways; I've known handsome guys to be with dumpy women. It isn't unheard of. It's also really common for guys to say their girlfriends/wives are way out of their league; sometimes to the point where it sounds like a pity lie compliment so the girl feels special. Although I've never known a woman to say the same about her guy, even when it really is true. People get caught up in some weird logic. Actually experience a bit more of life before making these weird assumptions.
Yeah I remember watching a RU-vid video about an obese hamburger addicted guy(actual thing) and the only comments was anger that the guys wife was beautiful and that he “doesn’t deserve her”. How the hell do they know what he’s like around his wife when he’s not affected by his crippling addiction! The dude was happily married but just had a problem. People are such jerks
No, it's usually ugly men with pretty women because men judge women for our looks more. Also, women earn less than men and so have to marry for money more. Also, I'm kind of sick of the ugly man hot wife couple being pushed in movies and TV shows. How many examples can you think of where it's an ugly woman and a hot husband?
I feel like you see men with more attractive women more often, then women with more attractive men. I couldnt think of an example for the latter but the former shows up plenty.
He deserves all of that respect he’s genuinely a nice person and it’s nice when he gets the respect he deserves I just wish he was as good an employee as he is a person then I would hire him too do any job he wants
I thought that, as a society, we had finally learned abt bullying ppl and treating them badly for things they can't help. He's such a nice man. How can they b so mean to such a kind person. Very childish and ik its "just a show".. but if the writers wanted someone to pick on for laughs, it should have at least been someone who seems to "deserve" it..
Am I the only one bothered that Ann is turning people away from a party that’s not hers? Like it’s not her place to be denying people. Always bothered me.
yea and no. their actions made it feel understandable as if they weren't just going to come in and be rude if they didn't have some sort of lesson & potentially make the party less enjoyable for the others if they didn't have those moments to reflect. it was Ann's way of protecting Garry like friends actually should, even if it wasn't necessarily her call to make.
